I began the class hating him and his teaching style. But it's the end of the year and I've come to see his class as one of the best of my freshmen year. It was challenging and unique, and while some things needed work with him, for the most part I enjoyed his class.
David has a reputation as being hard for a reason. His classes are hard. I found his teaching style to be unhelpful in understanding material. He will love you if you go to his tutorials but good luck talking to him because every single other one of his students need to see him as well as no one understands what the hell they are doing because he explains things in class so poorly. David needs to start planning his lessons and HW assignments in advanced. I'd try to avoid him if possible.
I loved David. He really challenged me, but in a way that I enjoyed. The class was tough, but I don't regret taking it for one second.
Best math teacher I've ever had. Pushes you hard and may overwhelm you if you don't enjoy math, but always does anything he can to help.
David Lecount's class was one of the most stressful experiences of my life. Never before have I received a 20% on a test. For all of his future students: remember that your test grades don't matter.
Only confuses you more to go into tutorial. Only for people who love problems without answers. This was one of the worst classes I've ever taken.
Teaches on a very conceptual level which is great for the math geniuses but difficult for those (freshmen especially) who have not yet completely developed their abstract thought processes.
