Extremely chill. Ppl sleep and watch tv during class and he never cares (but don't do that if you want a good grade on the test). His class was rlly easy, but math is easy for me anyway. It's so great how he doesn't put weird word problems on his test. It's usually just simple straightforward problems. Homework is reasonable, he's very calm (never shouts) and helpful. Best math teacher ever. (also NEVER picks favorites). Just don't talk in class. Fool around quietly if you must.
Mr. Silah is highly intelligent, however he does not teach according to the curriculum and tests his students mainly on topics that are not from the Dolciani textbook. Pay attention in class and completely understand everything he does on the board and you'll pass the class. He originally taught 2 periods of Alg2Honors but ended up with only 1 period by second semester due to course drops. Although he may not be the best teacher, he's still really nice and will try to curve your grade at the end
This teacher is the best and most unique teacher you'll ever meet. He tries to be funny and isn't that strict on students.
Never gets mad. He apologizes if he shouts.
Common core jokes everyday.
best math teacher I've had. His tests are hard but he makes sure he covers everything that will be on the test thoroughly
he's great love his class
He explains so slowly that I have the answer by the time he finishes asking the question. Sure, it's good that he explains Every. Single. Little. Detail., but we get through only three-six problems a lesson.
silah is gr8 and mary dolciani is a goddess
my only word of advice is not to fall asleep in class
He's the best math teacher ever!! He's nice and everything as long as you pay attention, you'll do well on most of his tests. He's chill and makes sure everyone gets the material. Silah ftw. OP
This is for Alg 2H. Silah is cool with me using my phone every day. I did occasional homework and got high B's and Low A's. First semester is tough but second semester has like 4 tests including the final. Worships Mary Dolciani.
worst jokes but we all laugh anyway. not strict about homework AT ALL but it helps if you do it. don't fall asleep in class, take notes, and make sure to go over any example problems in your notes because they're similar to test problems
His Alg II H class was my favorite class of the year, surprisingly! He teaches thoroughly and is very nice and is willing to help. Sometimes class can be a little slow, but if you pay attention, you will learn a lot :) Notes definitely help for tests.
Great teacher. Knows his stuff and makes sure the students do too. Easy homework policy. Only strict on the learning, not the work.
Mr Silah is my favorite teacher this year. His class is pretty easy, and he's not very strict at all.
mr silah was one of the best math teachers I ever had but his class is really hard, had him for algebra 2H and got an A learned a lot.
i had him for alg 2H as a freshmen... and he was pretty hard. he truly does care about his students but he does not teach very well. whenever i asked him for help after school, he would tell me that h
Great person great teacher he actually graded tests pretty quickly this year and provided answer keys for em and let us keep the tests. I'll admit hes kinda boring but he is willing to answer all your
One of the best math teacher, at least in my humble opinion. I especially like how he goes in depth into many subjects; though he might be somewhat lazy- he takes forever to grade the tests.
He's so insanely great at math that it's kind of scary. Now if only I could be better.
I think he is probably one of the best teachers for mathematics that I've had so far (Alg 2H) but like everyone, his tests are difficult. As long as you pay attention to everything he says in class and do the homework, an "A" is not intangible.
So sometimes in ap stats nobody has a clue what he's talking about.. his tests are difficult. but he's a genuine guy. he really cares about his students
Mr. Silah is a great teacher. Reasonably difficult and very detailed orientated. To be honest if you haven't talked to him, you don't have the right to judge. Yes, I admit there are times I want to claw my eyeballs out but seriously his teaching is invaluable to me. As an educator, he really cares for his students. If you get him, you know you will be well prepared for college. Don't live in ignorance.
got an A in 2h, he's a nice person and a very good teacher and he explains everything. but his tests are challenging
answers questions well...sometimes too well that it gets BORING
He is a very good teacher in my opinion. he takes the time to answer my questions. you just have to ask him and if his test are hard in the multiple question section :(
Makes things way too confusing and he's pretty lazy too. takes forever to grade tests and makes up excuses for his mistakes.
his grading scale did not make any sense. out of the whole second semester of algebra two honors he only gave three tests and one final. boring and lazy teacher. procrastinates on many lessons. ended up having to read a lot at home.
He doesn't make any sense in class... also he goes wayy too in-depth with everything, it's confusing.
Amazing teacher and teaches really well, if you pay attention in class that is. Grades test extremely hard and if you have not been paying attention in class, you probably will not do so great on tests.
Had him last year in apstats, he is a really good teacher and I learned a lot....got a 4 on the ap test. His lessons everyday are pretty complete. The only complaint for me would be that at times he is quite a strict grader.
He is a very good teacher that makes lame math jokes but he is very clear in his lessons. TESTS ARE CRAZY HARD.
interesting teacher, he is very easy to be around and ask questions, but his tests are extremely difficult, and rarely tends to curve any tests. He also goes out of the material a lot, and whatever he has written on the board, he expects you to know
He's not really a great teacher, but if you did well in other honors math classes you shouldn't have any problems. He's pretty boring, and sometimes goes off on random tangents that have nothing to do with math. You don't have to listen to him while he's teaching, but just make sure that you read the section and come in with questions if you're confused. He'll show you how to do tough problems. The tests that he makes are hard, but he's kind of lazy and often uses book tests.
Silah is... an average teacher. He complains a lot about the time and doesn't really "teach" teach... but sometimes he says funny things. His tests aren't too bad if you study the homework and take good notes like he tells you to.
he has a monotonous voice when he teaches ap stats, but he is really a funny and great teacher. his humor is off the hook and he makes class interesting because he says the funniest stuff. Just know there is a lot of self-studying and if you are in his ap stats class make sure to ace the definitions test he gives you.
Taking him now for APstats, first three weeks so far, he seems really smart and explains everything.
I thought Stats was a boring subject but Mr. Silah made it fun. He is a great teacher and always ready to help.
can't teach for beans but he's a cool guy to just talk with outside of class. if you need help though, he won't be the best person to go to. he's smart but he can't transfer that knowledge to you.
Mr. Silah was my algebra two honors teacher this year. He was one of the best teachers I had this year. He was very smart and helpful and he always explained everything in detail.
Mr Silah was a great teacher, he was patient and went out of his way to make sure we learned. I also had him for AP Statisitics and I got a 5 on the test, i wish all of my teachers were this awesome.
I had Mr. Silah this year for AP Stats he was one of the best teachers I have ever had very bright guy and very nice, just got my ap score back and I got a 4 on the test. Learned a lot.
he has a strict grading scale and his exams are crazy hard, but oeverall a very good math teacher, only thing if you want an A you have to break 90%, I had 89.1% and he gave me a B.
bad teacher. very lazy. boring class. he always picks on smart students. we are glad the class is over.
good teacher goes over evrything, tests challenging though, study the homework
Mr. Silah is very knowledgeable, and really cares about his students. I am in my first year of college. His class helped prepare me for college math, and has given me an advantage over other students. He is not easy, but e
good teacher, i suppose. if you love math, he's the teacher to have. if you don't, well...you'll have a hard time, because he goes far beyond the material in the book, and getting an A requires that you get into what you do.
He's leet even though the class gets boring after a while. Sometimes, the class makes you wonder if you're ever going to use the math you learn in real life.
Mr. Silah is cool =] His class was chill and everyone had a blast. He is very willing to help students with their personal problems. Tests are hard though =/ But if you don't fall asleep in class you will do ok.
he's very thorough but sometimes he repeats things he says a lot. he seems to know what he's talking about but sometimes he teaches stuff that's not in the book, so it's harder to understand.
Great ap-stats teacher very knowlegable and a fair grader..
Very helpful and actually interested in whether or not we get it. My older brother had him also and really liked his class.
really smart and good teacher I like his algebra two honors class a lot. he explains a lot and he is very fair. probably the best math teacher I ever had.
He is a really good teacher, makes hard problems seem easy. Tests are actually ok, though he usually puts one or two really hard problems on every test, just study the homework.
I think my class is seriously not paying attention..and Silah tries so hard to lecture them. It must be hard being him..I applaud u Mr. Silah! for teaching us even when we are acting like fools, well for the most of us .
Mr. Silah is actually a really good teacher and a really funny guy; it's a pity that everyone would rather occupy themselves with something else than listen to his lectures.
Seems more concerned about getting through the chapter as fast as possible rather than teaching. But there's no doubt that he's an excellent mathematician. He's also very nice and funny.
Really bright guy…. enjoyed his class….he's a bit tough-but fair…his class has helped give me an edge in my college math courses
He's a great teacher, very organized and helpful, goes over everything. Got a 5 on the apstats test no problem
terrible teacher. we don't understand his teaching at all. he can't teach. he is always moody and easily gets upset. some of the students go to the other math teachers to ask questions. no one wants to ask Silah questions.
boring teacher. he put us to sleep when listen to his voice. He took 30 minutes to explain a simple concept. he is very lazy. He did not grade our tests until the last minutes. I am glad the class is over!!!!
Very smart and helpful, favorite teacher last year. Careful teaching does every problem on board and does not skip around. But last year I missed an "A" by 15 points 89.89 and he gave me a "B+" but I learned a lot of math.
He doesn't teach anything! We should get payed for teaching ourselves. -___-
he's a very interesting man, but get a math tutor if you have him. he's really chill and he hints what's going to be on the test so look out for that.
His class is soo chill. He's generally very helpful but you have to go out of your way to ask him. Tests are hard although second semester of Alg2H is a lot easier than first.
my favorite teacher last year, goes through every step of every problem learned a lot of math, tests sometimes tricky sometimes ok....study the homewrok
Teacheing very good. Took aptest got a 5. Tests very hrd had to study for an A. But overall fair and organized.
i had him for 2 years. he is not really good at teaching but sometimes he tells us interesting and funny stories. he is kind of funcky and can really make your day sometimes. His tests are easy as long as you study for it.
easy but boring teacher. it took him two months to grade our first chapter test!
great teacher...I learned a lot of math from him, he also tells cool mountain stories
Best math teacher I have had goes over everything with the detail, but he loves word problems.
Oh my god... dont even know wut to say...he is...he cant really teach...
inteligent careful teacher goes over every problem. He does ask a lot of hard word problems though.
Probably one of the worst teachers i have ever had, he doesn't teach at all, just try and study on your own, cause your not going to learn anythin from him, he's very boring too.
nice but boring most of the time, test questions and homework questions are completely different and that sucks
Mr Silah is the best teacher I ever had. Tests are sometimes hard and he is a little strict on homework/grading but he actually teaches and never does projects or groups - yipee!
I did fine on the homework, but it seemed like he put completetly different problems on the tests, and I had no idea what to do on many of the test questions, so I got low grades.
hes the best teacher and also very nice, very detail in his lessons.
A good teacher who loves what he does. His tests are okay and he is not too strict in class. However he can be boring man
too easy, but not helpful in your future calc classes
mr silah is pretty much the best teacher I have ever had since seventh grade.
Unlike Sylvia, he: offers extra credit, gives you points on tests for writing anything, lectures passionately, rounds grades up, is nice, and is smart. BestMath
Mr Silah is the best teacher I have ever had, math or otherwise. He does give a lot of homework at times but it's not too bad as long as you keep up.
The best! Got him in Freshman year, also was his first year. Smart, and helped a lot. What else to say? He's a great teacher.
mr silah's so nice~! he rounded up my 89.6 to an A! haha. he NEVER gets mad but sometimes, he can get boring.
VERY NICE GUY!!!!! ONE OF THE BEST PPL I KNOW. TEACHES MATH VERY PASSIONATELY. VERY HARD WORKING. GREAT TEACHER = )
he's too nice he almost makes me feel guilty when pple dont pay attention. very good teaching. lots of hw. do good on hw and youll get easy A's on tests.havefun
He is so awesome! He's a real nice guy and teaches really well.
very smart, very kind, but if you don't do homework every day you have no chance
works you to death and you just want to hate him, but he's just too darn nice
really tough at times and a total organize-freak but a very, very good teacher
very cool teacher crazy amount of homework and tests
