Mr. Kushi knows what hes talking about. He is a great teacher and cares about all of his students. There is homework everyday, but it is manageable, until the last month of AP testing, when he gives about 2 hours of review work. He loves his students, and is very fair to all of his students. He is probably the only teacher that does Saturday tutoring sessions. 10/10 take his class.
The teacher I'm waiting for. He is a TEACHER!!!
Mr. Kushi is the most friendly teacher I've ever been under. He clearly loves what he teaches and never yells at students or grows frustrated with them. He gives nothing but encouragement as long as you show effort. The notes are easily clarified, but can get lengthy at times and are sometimes crammed at the last minute. If you pay attention and do what you're supposed to, it should be easy. However, you often feel overwhelmed by the daily homework and long projects often worth nothing.
Mr. Kushi, while tries so very hard for the future of his students, simultaneously crushes them with large, quite arguably excessive amounts of homework (multiple hours). His tests are brutally hard, and he assigns copious amounts of projects. The workload is definitely comparable to that of a college course.
he really needs to slow it down
Mr. Kushi is above average compared to all of the teachers in Torrance High. However, he does lack in some areas. He usually rushes the class and waste time in having his students do white board problems. This usually just takes away time from the class and does not really contribute too much on the progression of a student's learning. I believe he can teach better but he should really go in a slower pace and should assign less homework. You know what they say "Quality is better than Quantity".
best teacher at torrance high currently,if you have good work ethic you will do extremely well in his class. I was a senior in his calc class this year and can say that you will never dread having m
cares about his students if you show you care. Just do your work and the "hard" test are actaully easy. I failed almost all his test but when i actually studied i got A 's on them
One of the best teachers in THS. The only reason he is staying in THS is the girl's golf team; if our golf team sucked, he wouldn't be teaching in THS. He has the skills to teach at a way better schoo
Mr. Kushi's class is difficult, but that's mainly because calculus as a subject is difficult on it's own. He does what he can to simplify it, and his tests might be hard, but he's a great teacher. He
The easiest class of my life and the best teacher of my life
Pay attention and do the (large) amount of work, and his class isn't hard to pass. He gives up his evenings to tutor kids. Yeah he takes a bit of time to cover the material but I'm enjoying math for the first time in my life.
Hard class, but if you pay attention and do the homework you should soar through the ap test
He really cares about his students and making sure we understand everything, but his class involves A LOT of work.
His class does require students to do a lot of work. But he puts a lot of effort into making sure that everyone understands the concepts. He even gives up his evenings to come to school and tutors!
best teacher! he actually cares about the success of his students. He deals with our crazy class so well and doesnt play favorites :) i wish he could teach all of my classes! LOL
He's a good teacher and puts in the time to tutor, but his class is very difficult and at many times will feel overwhelming with the amount of homework that is given out.
challenging, but helpful. it is not usual to see a teacher giving up his own time to help his students out.
He gives a lot of homework, very challenging tests, but overall I think he's an incredible teacher.
DISASTER. i had him for Geo H & Calc AP. He cant manage his time. we are doing notes the last 10 minutes of class & I never got out of his class before the bell.TOO MUCH HW!&expects too much!
I had Mr. Kushi many years ago and I despised his class because I did not understand geometry. However, he spent countless hours tutoring me until I understood. He's a challenging, but great teacher.
He's okay, but he gives WAYTOOMUCH homewor. That much is clear! And he gives homework on test days, too! D:<
too much homework, too much projects, too much papers... needs to be MORE organized & stop giving students 2 points in their homeworks
He is a good geometry teacher (LIKES GEO WAY TOO MUCH!)... horrible teaher in general... we spend all class time doing review... we actually learn AFTER the bell rings for next period! Too OCD! xD
Heh, he tries very hard to help students learn. Also tries, but rather unsuccessfully, to get kids excited about the lessons.
Great teacher, the kind who is strict, makes you work, cares, and teaches you more than just math.
devon kushi can be a hard teacher and gives way to much hw and nobody likes him because of that
kushi can be hard, esp 4 geom h, but i luvd him 4 alg 2. hes a good teacher, just has high expectations sumtimes..
i loved him. He took so much time after school to help me. And his projects were hard but fun!!
