She is a nice and helpful teacher but gives us way too much work. She gave the class four days to type and record a 525-875 word essay. She gave us three projects at one time. We already had another project due, so that made 4 projects due for one class at one time. She does not seem to be aware that students are humans and can only handle so much work.
Whoever has had this teacher knows that she teaches nothing. You do mindless vocabulary and are tested on the most obscure things on reading checks. She also grades harshly, and gives out endless projects, and picks favorites and is rude. If you show interest in her class you should be ok just don’t complain to her about every little detail. In the long run you’ll thank her but your GPA will not. Mind you this is coming from an all honors student
She prepares you very well (vocabulary-wise) for the SAT, but grades very harshly. She's nice, she just grades really harshly
Absolutely rude. No respects to students. Just plain bitter. Hasn't taught a thing. Just assigns homework and vocabulary words. I don't think SHE HERSELF has taught us anything and respectfully, she's not a very good writer either!!
Think of Diane Geurin as a teacher who's main goal was to beat out individual creativity and joy to implement her own systems. She grades like a hawk, you can get points taken off for having poor lighting in a presentation. Her HW/project requirements are unbelievably ridiculous, there are so many requirements that individual creativity is almost non-exsistant. You have the feeling that if you add a touch of individuality, she will scold you and act passive aggressive for the rest of the year.
10H english is difficult. she doesnt actually teach ANYTHING, we work on dificult projects everyday in class that she assigns. The SAT vocab we have to memorize, however, Im grateful for. shell criticize your work w/o teaching how to do it beforehand
Makes fun of students for asking about things she doesn't explain. Projects are based on ridiculous rubrics with requirements that are 100% opinion based. Forces class to memorize over 400 words with definitions for a 6 hour final test. Bad person!
I have gotten nothing useful out of her class. She picks favorites and her workload is too much. When you hear the word rubric you feel like dying inside. Her rubrics are also hella confusing. She doesn't actually teach us.
She doesn't teach a thing. She gives out impossible projects and she does nothing but grade them. She can be understanding if you have to talk about something and she is very smart, but impossible to deal with as a teacher, if you can call her a teacher.
shes nice to me and really helpful she goes over blackboard assignments every class so we wouldn't forget the homework Her class Can be boring but not really hard if you're good at english
Difficult class, gives a lot of projects and homework. The rubrics make are lengthy and difficult to understand sometimes. She also makes weird faces to her students.
Her class is extremely hard, but she's a great teacher and will make your SAT score go up A LOT.
I don't know why everybody is so mean about her i actually like her alot shes such a sweetheart. I'm in her block 1 creative writing class and she is nothing but nice and understnading to me.
After taking her class, you will vomit each time you hear the work "rubric".
She's a dreadful teacher. Her assignments won't teach you anything, and they'll consume all of your time. She doesn't care about her students. I seriously think that she is intentionally rude.
Incompetent teacher. Emphasized arbitrary, time consuming assignments. Didn't do any prep work for the AP Lit exam; students didn't even know what was supposed to be on the test.
I took College Writing with her my senior year, and it was anything but what the course was supposed to be. Looking back on it, it was a useless class. She also picks favorites.
Bottom line... 40+ poems in the first 10 weeks of school. Terrible class.
well when i signed up for a regents class i didnt expect to get a vocab test 40 pages of reading and also 4 poems to write basically every night,so hard,so mean
One of the worst teachers I've ever had, if not the worst. She has horrible relationships with her students and is one of the reasons i dropped out of school.
i thought the class was supposed to be HONORS not AP. God, so hard to do well, and she seems to let her feelings get in the way of teaching.
questionable... not a bad teacher... insults students with a strange sence of humor... dont get HER evil eye!
Shes a very mean person who insults her students constantly.
If you are in her Honors English class you get overloaded with pointless work, including a 20 page research paper on a place in the community.
The woman is mad. She enjoys pitting students against each other and has no trouble being bitter.
She is a hard teacher, but it really helped out my writing.
Lots of work, but very fair. Just do the work and you'll be fine.
