He is an amazing teacher and, as everyone has already said, is extremely knowledgeable about history. His lectures are always engaging; it oftentimes feels more like listening to a story than enduring a lecture. You'll leave his class interested in history and you'll end the year wanting to learn more from him. My only gripe would be that sometimes the grading can seem a bit lacking in rhyme or reason, but generally if you know the topic you should do okay. I highly recommend him as a teacher.
This man knows EVERYTHING. His class is a straight lecture, but you learn so much. Often he chooses students to play devil's advocate with-- super funny unless it's you. Take all of his classes that you can.
Wether you enjoy his class or find it extremely meticulous in information, this man is brilliant!!! He is brilliant in every way, and his classes all reflect his perspicacious understanding of history. He is very kind, very hard-working and a literal genius. He is the kind of teacher you usually dream of.
I LOVE MR. GONZALEZ! He's the best teacher I've ever had. He will definitely prepare you for the AP exam. He is extremely knowledgeable and gives very interesting lectures. After taking his class, I feel prepared for college and the future history courses to come. Not only is he an amazing teacher, but he is also has a fabulous personality. He highly respects his students, and will help you after school if you need tutoring. Although his class is a lot of work, it is worth it!
He is a really nice guy. He means well, and really puts in the effort to teach his students. He makes his students work hard, but they do learn a lot. He is always animated when he lectures the class, and that makes his lectures bearable. He knows words and phrases of the students' generation, like "cash money". When he incorporates them into his lectures, it is funny.
He has a fetish for the Paleolithic Micro Blade, the Central Asian Steps, The Mayan King, "Shield Jaguar", and the Mongols.
Very knowledgeable and highly respected, he was the best teacher ever!
Mr. Gonzalez is a great teacher. You really learn in his class. He loves teaching and actually loves all students, not just his own. You can talk to him about anything, even if you have never had him as a teacher. He tells you straight up if you ask him for advice. He tells you what you need to do and how to do it. He used to play chess with his students during his free time. Now he can't because the administration is making class sizes bigger, meaning more students for him to try to help out.
Even though I got a C in his Russian History class, I loved what I learned. I would fall asleep not because it was boring but because he has a very soothing voice. After graduating, when he was in Chicago, he came by my apartment and we went to lunch with another student. He is simply brilliant and dedicated to teaching! I wish I had him for more than just one class.
He is the most outstanding history teacher in the world ....and a great guy... I LOVE GONZ!!
He knows a great amount of information, but he is probably the most overrated teacher at Franklin. It's hard to ask questions because he's so intimidating.
The BEST history teacher I've ever had.. both his Euro and American classes are great..a bit difficult too. His sarcasm is really entertaining. He's a really nice guy as well.
Great teacher, difficult class. European AP is a great class, take it. I did poorly (I got a B), but history is not my forte.
attention all euro kids: you will never work (or laugh) harder than you do in his class!!and ya gotta love those yearbook pics from the '70s..haha. luv ya gonz!
Gonz is a really nice guy and a really good teacher. I've learned a lot. However, I would've liked it if he'd learned my name before midterms. Still love him!
wow...just wow...this is how teaching is supposed to be done
He is sooooo funny! That class was great, but HARD. Not an easy way out, peeps. But a GREAT class nonetheless.
def my most awesum teacher all time. i got a 5 on my AP exam all thanx to him and his class was always funny and interesting. def knows his stuff!
gonz is a good teacher. i seriously did have nightmares about his essay tests and dbq's, though. you will never laugh harder than you do in his class.
Can't help but laugh when I see the "Soccer Practice" music video... reminds me of the boys on the team! LOL!
Great teacher - but the fact that those non-soccer players tend to get a secondary status explains my helfulness rating.
Everyone's favorite. Seems to know pretty much everything. He makes you think. You will learn a lot & remember it.
Great teacher. Makes history interesting. One of the best teachers at Franklin. Not the best soccer coach.
gonz is the man!!! he is sooo awsome!! im taking russian with him next year and greek and roman next year its gonna be soo awsome...he is such a good teacher!!!
Gonz is so awesome.. hard class, but funny and interesting.

I've learned so much from Gonz; one of the best teachers at Franklin.
taught me to read, read, and read until history became a part of me
I appreciate Gonz for his helpfulness and patience as a teacher
Gonz was enthusiastic about teaching and very caring of his students
Diego loves history and teaching. His enthusiam is contagious.
Greatest teacher I ever had. Used all his term papers for college too...

One of the three best, most inspiring teachers ever, and I'm on my Ph.D. now!
Words cannot explain how great this man is, as a person or a teacher.
I can and will beat you in Chess the next time we meet.
I wrote one of my college application essays about this man. He's excellent!
I learned more in his class than in any class I've taken since; even in college.
In this case "very hard" is a compliment. The finest teacher I ever had.
Probably the best teacher I had in high school or college.
Great college prep teacher. Classes were challenging but fulfilling.
A Great Man. An unforgettable and rewarding experience.
Glad to see Diego's still there, he's the best history teacher I ever had.
