To most students, Cavello appeared to be a selfish and grumpy old man; and for the most part, that was true. That wasn't always the case though. Cavello did have kids he liked more than others, and it wasnt only by your grades, but by your family too. Fortunately, Cavello liked me and my family and so latin was easier. He knew what he was teaching very well. Grudges on teachers stay firm at SC; sadly, you'll see many people here against Cavello unjustly. Cavello was an amazing man and teacher.
Dr. Dominic Cavello is retiring after the 2011-12 school year. I will be attending SC next year, and from what I have heard, he is an excellent teacher. All other ratings are obselete now, since he will no longer be a teacher here.
He is a well experienced teacher, who is willing to help. Seems intimidating to the freshman, but is always looking out for his 'Cavello Babies'. "Jane, give him a one".
Very smart but strict teacher who you don't want to dissappiont. Is one of the most respected teachers at SC.
He is an excellent teacher. You have to pay attention and do your own homework to succeed, which is doable for any student.
He is the worst teacher i have ever had. He cares about only those who are naturally good at latin and no one else. He says help is always available BUT ITS NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He is the spitting image of a dictator; he only cares about himself and no-one else.
My son is trying very hard but is still struggling. He gets no help from Dominic.
Very, very selfish and cares about nothing else besides latin.
Mr. Cavello has an ego problem; his room is the only classroom in the whole that is air conditioned, and everything seems to named after him!!!!!!!
Great teacher, but could maybe be a bit less bland. Very hard w/ grading, so everything better be perfect. Very helpful and FAIR though, especially with quizzes
Awesome at teaching even though he is a tough grader.
The Latin program here is the most organized and best language course I have seen. Mr Cavello is the best.
