I graduated Lab in 1974. I'm a prof at an Ivy League Univ, and Mr Bell remains one of my most important teachers, mentors and influences although I'm in a very different field. He was amazing.
One of the top 5 teachers of my entire life. He got through to me intellectually. It was his way or the highway. That's how it is with great teachers. I feel sorry for any student who didn't get it. How could you miss? Thank you Mr. Bell.
I took Earl Bell's class and was hooked. I loved his history class as well as his economics class. I owe him a huge thank you. He along with David Derbes are two of the greatest at Lab School. I went off an eventually to get a PhD in economics. If it weren't for Mr. Bell, I probably never would have gone into economics. Thanks!
Mr. Bell was one of the best teachers I ever had. He scared me and made me realize that I couldn't just coast through school (and life) any more. I thank him for his intelligence, his love for history, and his willingness to push his students to the limit.
He is a great teacher and probably an all time great at Lab. Anybody who ever tried to dodge his class is missing out
If you don't find Bell a great teacher, you're either lazy or stressed out. If you learn anything in his class (either from him or by yourself), you are considered a real learner.
My favorite teacher yet. He has an interesting life and is an interesting person. I've learned much history in his class, but even more life lessons. Hardest class yet tho but cool
A good person, but a very tough teacher, anyone in his class learns the meaning of a lot of work.
I learned so much in his class, but not from him. To whoever said he thinks he's teaching football, I've never heard truer words. I miss sleeping too!
This guy's philosophy is "sink or swim." He thinks he's coaching football. Still, he's a smart guy and you can learn a lot from his aimless rants.
Mr. Bell is the most productive teacher @ Uhigh hes a very tought teacher granted, but Its Lab and so many kids have learned from him, not to mention the MUN Program
He was a hard teacher, but I learned a lot from him.
I had mr. Bell five years ago and he was aweful. It's too bed that the school has tenure.
