One of the only good human beings in Stuyvesant. He was in a band before becoming a teacher. I feel sorry because he is such a nice person but I just couldn't do well in his class because of the amount of reading we were required to do every single day. I guess that is just what you get when you attend Stuyvesant
best teacher ive had at stuyvesant. very attentive and encourages a fun immersive class environment. minutes are always a blast. very socrative and participation heavy but youre going to want to participate as much as possible. the books in euro lit and great books are enjoyable and the questions he proposes about them are thought provoking and fun. most of all he makes the class feel like a family.
A good teacher but needs to improve music taste. I ain't wanna criticize, but let me tell you what I found. He only listens to obsolete '70s rock and old school hip hop. And throw in some terrible roots rock here and there. He just hangs there and he don't look scared; I wish I could be so wise.
I absolutely LOVE Mr. Grossman. He's kind, and funny, and smart, and charming, and DID I MENTION HE IS SO FUNNY? His classes are fun, the discussions are engaging and helpful. You learn a lot. The only downside might be the papers he makes you write. They're really interesting, but the guidelines are a little fuzzy sometimes (I honestly think this is a good thing, too. You get to explore your creativity and try new styles of writing.).
Mr Grossman is an amazing teacher. He's smart, funny, and charming. He's a great listener and is really easy to talk to. Instead of feeling like I was in a class, I felt like I was discussing the readings with a bunch of friends. We had inside jokes referencing the books we were reading and the experience was fabulous. Mr Grossman's assignments are very open-ended, giving you a lot of room to explore. He also asks you to get personal and that was easy for me because I trusted him. Gman is life.
I'm not even in one of his classes. I just see him in the hallway and he's so kind that he says hi to me every time I see him. He looks amazing and I really wish I had him as a teacher. My friends tell me he's amazing.
He teaches only few classes, pick good ones for sophomore and seniors. This guy manipulate students and staff. Recommendation for college admission is a weapon for exploitation. Beware! .
mr. grossman is my absolute number one homie ok
It's always one of my regrets that I never took Grossman's class (even though he teaches very few). He's a great guy and AP. He knows your name even though you think you've never spoken to him. I randomly walk into his office and he is always available to chat; extremely personable and just a really welcoming person. He's always willing to help. Love him!
An amazing AP. The reason Stuy's English department is the best of any public school in the city. Too suave for words. So glad he's a failed rockstar!
He is the most amazing man ever! <3 I love this teacher soooo much. He helped me out a lot. I've never had a teacher as understanding and compassionate as him. GO Gman!
My gosh, the best teacher I've ever had ♥ He'll remember everyone's name in a snap, and when he sees potential in you- he gives you a chance to show it. So wonderful, but that doesn't mean he's easy!
absolutely the best teacher ever, my writing has gotten 20x better since i had him, so friendly and approachable
I had Mr. Grossman for Great books and Existentialism over 8 years ago. Now I am an English teacher myself and I have a new found respect for what he was able to accomplish in the classroom. I hope th
Mr. Grossman is an amazing English teacher. His Great Books class changed the way that I read and write. He is truly an unforgettable, caring teacher.
pretty chill. guitar in his office. nice guy, creative assignments. very understanding. Omar Ahmad
He's a pretty awesome teacher, and the writing assignments are really a lot of fun.
whoever said the last comment is obviously on the stuy standard. mr grossman is a wonderful man. he put me into great books on his own initiative when he noticed programming screwed up and my name wasnt on the "Wishlist."
I've never had him but I've talked to him outside of class and he's a sweetie. :)
He's friendly and understanding. never forgets a student. Great teaching!
Great Books class. Wonderful. Assignments were unconventional, but taught us more about the books than we would have gotten through expository writing.
He NEVER forgets a student. Great teacher in many ways. He's also awesome to talk to outside the classroom.
great guy; helps you out even if you're not in his class. talkative, amiable, down to earth and a great teacher all around.
