The average grade is a c
He is by far the best teacher at Manual. Never before have I had a teacher who was as rigorous as he is while still being as funny as he is. He finds as way to have a personal connection with any student that wants to have one; he is one of those teachers that you can talk with forever after school. Mr. Garrett is not only a good teacher, but also an outstanding man. He also probably killed Bin Laden. Be warned though, once you sign up for the class, you have passed the Rubicon! HOOAH!!!!!!!!!
The best teacher I've ever had, hands down. Take him for world and then again for military history. You'll hate him at first, no doubt, but you'll look back and realize all he's done for and taught you, and your gratitude will surely surpass any animosity you once harbored towards him. I've never had a teacher who taught me more about what it meant to be a student and a man of good character than taught the actual curriculum. There truly is god, then there's Garrett. Hooah.
I'm a few weeks through my first year with Mr. Garrett, and the class is tough, but enjoyable. He definitely knows what he is talking about, but often comes through as intimidating, especially at the beginning of the year. Deep down, he is a very nice and personable man, and a great teacher. HOOAH!
Mr. Garrett's the best. His class is so enjoyable and he's funny. Even if you don't like the class, you'll love Mr. Garrett. He teaches more lecture-style. I suggest using a Princeton/Cliffs Notes and reading the material before the next class so you can participate. Helped me get a 5 on my AP exam. HOOAH!
Mr. Garrett is the best teacher I've ever had. He will challenge you, but the best way to get an A is just to act like you care about the material and shout out answers in class that you know. Attempt to study for the quizzes, but don't sweat it if you fail a few. He doesn't even use an online grade book. Just learn from him and ask him questions because he's a smart guy. Do not switch out of Mr. Garrett's class. You will learn about history and integrity. Do or die! Hooah!
Mr. Garrett is really the best. He is one of my favorite teachers. If you're not doing too well on quizzes, it's alright. As long as you're attentive in class and show that you're working hard and you know your stuff, you'll get an A. Mr. Garrett really knows what he's talking about, so LISTEN in class! Make sure to keep up with the reading and packets. Those give you the answers on his tests. If you get a nickname from him, you're doing well. Keep in touch w/him; he write great recs!
If your a lazy person I suggest you get out. You absolutly have to study EVERY night and attempt to do good on anything and everything he gives you to work on. You'll want a nickname too from him.
Amazing. very nice. u will probably get an A if u participate in the class a lot. To do this u need to read the book. so READ and NEVER fall behind or u will regret it.
he loves it when you participate in his class discussions/lectures. his stories are fantastic. if you read the book along with his class, you will do fine on the ap test. great teacher :)
teaches you if you show effort and care, if youre a hard worker he'll prepare you for the test, funny guy, very smart, disorganized, show interest and ull get an A
this is a class where YOU will have to do everything to prepare for the ap test. Sure he gives jeapordy quizes and tests and gives lectures but that's all you will get from the class. You really have to study and read by yourself.
To get an A in that class, bring him food and constantly ask him about his life in the Amazon. Also, liking the Packers wouldn't hurt. The class itself was boring, but I got many a good naps in there.
G is for Garrett! Hooah! Haha this guy is a really great guy, appreciates hard workers and recognizes them when he sees them. Just do your best and he'll take care of the grade. Although he makes it extremely easy not to go....
Basically: Garrett challenges you to be your best student. He gives you the work and opens up the world. If you can't do all the work, you can still do well in the class, but you wouldn't have learned as much. It's very much college-styled (I can avow)
mr garrett is a semi cool guy, sure his stories of his amazon youth intrigued us, but the guy cant teach. read the text book, dont listen to a thing he says, do the binder assingments, and do whatever must be done to do good on the daily quizzes.
