Gerald Billingsley changed my life. Never before had I had such a great teacher. He is a beautiful man homa homa.
He is the greatest ever #gbillmoney
Funny, very knowledgeable. SQ3R really helps in high school. One of the best teachers I've ever had.
mr billingsley is dope. his stories are funny, just do your left sides and you'll be fine. his tests aren't that difficult and there is consistently <30min of hw.
Mr. B is the man. He's ultra serious, but makes jokes that are funny mainly because they're odd. His stories are hilarious (not sure if they're supposed to be though.) Willing to joke around if he liked you. Overall, one of the best teachers in kilmer. Also, his tummy is just adorable
Mr. Billingsley is terrible with everyone having to keep a stupid interactive notebook. Also, he doesn't care if you have to go to a funeral after school, he'll still tell you to skip it and retake a test you were absent for
Mr. Billingsley is an okay teacher. He will call you out if he doesn't like you, but he has the best stories. I don't like his teaching method, which incorporates us doing SQ3R's (cornell notes but worse) every night for about 5 pages of the textbook. The next day he just reviews it. His tests are really hard and if you don't study or do homework/quiz reviews, you will fail the class. Overall, I learned a lot from him though.
His tests were pretty hard, but he is a great teacher. Although I think the SQ3R method takes forever I learn a lot from it! He may be harder then the other halls civics teacher, but you will get so much more out of his class and he helps you prepare for high school
Do not get on his bad side or he will call you out. He is the most serious techer ever. He sometimes laughs and has an okay sense of humor. He is/was a mayor so he knows what he's teaching. He's very strict but teaches well. He's usually available after school. He's open to questions and is a good person at heart.
great teacher knows a lot about civics and has a lot of interesting stories
Mr. B was awesome! He always has a story or an article that he has read about something. Honestly if you listen in class and take notes you'll always get an A. Some people say his tests are hard but from what I remember they were a lot easier than the other hallway's tests.
Mr. Billingsley was my teacher back in the 80s as well. Right now, I'm sitting in the Harvard Kennedy School library taking notes for a class, and I realized that I still use the SQ3R method he taught me all those years ago. I decided to look him up to see if anyone else was still using it, and I found this site. He was, hands down, the most influential teacher of my life. If you listen to him and do what he requires, he will improve the kind of student you are for the rest of your life.
Mr. Billingsley was my history and civics teacher way back in the 80s. I studied poli sci in college because his classes made me want to learn more about government. I remember him yelling about manifest destiny and I've never forgotten that concept and its significance. I remember taking notes while reading with the SQ3R method. I learned how to take good notes from a lecture in his classes. He's a great teacher who teaches his students to be responsible for their own work.
Ive had mixed feelings about Mr Billinglsey. his class is super hard to get an A in because his tests are incredibly hard and he doesn't really teach you a lot of the stuff thats on the tests. He's a pretty good teacher cause he knows absolutely everything there is to know about civics but i zone out a lot because he tends to go on long lectures his class gets incredibly boring at times but he tells really funny stories that eli you understand the concept.
Annoying teacher who's work is easy but is too strict
he's a pretty good teacher. not the most friendly man you'll ever meet, but at least he's not mean. he's very intolerant of talking though, and if things get out of control and you see him pick up the trash can, it doesn't matter if you quiet down - once he's got that can in his hand your ears are dead meat. oh and when you pick seats in september, get to class early and think very carefully because they don't change for the entire year
He knows a lot about the subject because he taught American history for a long time before teaching civics and he's mayor of the town he lives in. He doesn't really give any homework, so that's cool, but his quizzes are SO hard because in class you don't learn a lot. You just sit there and listen to him go off on a billion tangents and random examples that he gets SUPER excited about. Oh and he's pretty strict. I don't like him, but compared to the other A hall teachers, he's my favorite.
Speaks in a monotone so that you can't really help but not to pay attention. then he snaps at you for not taking notes, and then you're in more trouble if you're caught doing something else, like getting a tissue. He throws trash cans, Smartboard pens, and bangs his clipboard right next to students' heads. Worst tests ever. Can be funny but most of the time he's insanely dull. At least he knows a lot about Civics, unlike others.
Mr. Billingsly is a teacher who gets off topic very easily and can do a poor job of explaining certain tasks at hand. He also doesn't add any variety to his homework and the class becomes boring at times.
Why is everyone raving about his stories? They're extremely boring and put us very far behind the other civics classes. He's a real stickler for rules (dress code, being down the halls before the locker bell) and will mark you tardy if you're not IN YOUR SEAT when the bell rings. But he's quite a hypocrite because he waits until the end bell rings to give us our homework, sometimes holding us for up to 2 minutes, completely disregarding that we have other places to be. I don't like him at all.
Honestly, I don't know why so many people don't like him. He explains everything very well and his stories will help your remember the material. My advice for his tests: read the questions carefully, review during the time he gives you in class, and do good GORs (as in don't do them fifteen minutes before the test) My advice for the class: be respectful, pay attention, take good notes, and keep up with your work.
His classes are awesome and he has an awesome sense of humor. :)
He is a hard teacher to understand....He uses big words and talks in riddles sometimes but he really understands his students and tries to help them out as much as he can
alot of people really didn't like him, but he always kept me interesting in class. he loves to talk. Billingsboy FTW.
He seems boring for the first week or so, but then he gets a lot more interesting. During lectures, he tells a ton of stories and makes a lot of jokes. The quizzes are extremely straightforward and there are no major tests. Just make sure you keep up with your notebook and don't wait until the last night to do all of your left sides (you'll understand when you're in his class).
Mr. B was my 7th and 8th grade social studies teacher. He was fantastic! He explains concepts very clearly and is easy to understand. His projects made the class interesting. He was very animated during lectures and that made you pay attention. I still remember him yelling about Manifest Destiny! He's the reason I studied history and government in college.
No matter what people say he is actually a good teacher. You must pay attention, don't chew gum and don't talk. Laugh when it's expected. Try not to get too scared when he throws stuff. Heavy workload
His class may seem borig and repetitive but you learn so much, and you don't even relize it. His stories and random antics keep students listening, Plus you just gotta love billingsleyland.
picks up student's desk and throws trash cans(tourettes?)
Hates gum and chews you out if late to class. Tests are hard if you don't study. His "Billingsley Land" rants were hilarious and you could waste class time by getting friends to ask many questions!
So boring. Just sort of drones and gets off track really easy.
He's an ok teacher and everything, but he's just so weird! His "Billingsley Land" rants can be rather worry-some...but you can tell that he cares and that he wants us to learn.
hes good at teaching but can get boring very easily. hint: you can waste class very easily by asking a question. even if you know the answer. he will get elaborate and take a long time
He has way too many rules and is way too uptight about everything. When we have quizzes we don't even know what they're about. His grade on the "projected notebook" doesn't even make sense.
he gets distracted VERY EASILY. ask one question and if you elaborate, you can waste a class. nice law and order stories, boring classes. try to pay attention and do left sides.
He has many rules. He is a pretty good teacher. He hates gum!
good teacher, but if you're late to class you'll hate the class
Mr BIllingsley is not only BORING,but his stories usually amount to nothing and waste valuable class time. Because of his poor time management, the Roadrunner team is already weeks behind.bad teacher!
mr billingsly taught my aunt 30 years ago. You've been here way too long! I like it when you tell stories though!
i like the stories he tells and hes really ice and my brother liked him too when he was at school here
i thought he waw really cool. as long as you do your hw and study for quizzes, you are fine. taking notes was tiring but i actually understood alot of stuff.
Mr. Billingsley is nice most of the time and when he tells stories it makes class more interesting. He is a good Civics teacher.
The only thing I like about him is that he likes to tell stories, which gets him side tracked so he forgets about teaching! lol!
He is a pretty good teacher and doesnt give projects but he's not the brrightest person he could try to be more intresting and not give so many boering lechures
Mr. Billingsley rocks, and is the best teacher I know. Had I not studied with Mr. Billingsley, I would not have the system of studying/learning that I do today.
He makes everything very understandible, and he really knows his stuff
hes coool, hes funny, he makes everything understandable
