She's a nice person and is always really cheery. But I hated her class so much because I was confused literally very single day. We always fall behind in the curriculum and then have to rush in the end.
Class is confusing, to say the least. More it's the expectations that is confusing. Too much emphasis on outside resources, in particular, a certain not-school-issued-book. It's hard for students who try their best within the confines of doing homework but don't love history outside of homework (*cough* me *cough*).
Not bad as a person though--definitely not /mean/. But...hard to know what to expect? Hard to keep up with rapid-fire class too (as in, teacher talks really fast..)
The worst teacher I have ever had in my entire life. She is disorganized, useless, rude and takes months to grade even basic homework assignments. Her classes are endless cycles of nonsense, but she expects us to know every single detail mentioned in every packet she throws at us. On top of that, she expects us to know things that we were never taught. She has made my year unnecessarily stressful, and is the sole reason that I will never again willingly take a US history course.
I love Ms Termini!!! She's so funny and her class is so enjoyable... if you do your homework! Her lessons are very much about concepts and themes, rather than the actual facts and events, so as long as you do the assigned textbook readings it's great (except so many people don't).
Its easy to see that she is an intelligent person and is nice outside of class. However, we often spend most of class time moving extremely slowly and then learning everything important in the last five minutes. Her standards are very unclear and she often expects things that are not discussed/mentioned. Even if she doesn't teach some material to you in class, you are expected to know "everything." In addition, she can be passive aggressive and only wants things done her way.
Ms. Termini does give quite hard tests, but she has a crystal clear answer for anything that troubles any student (or parent for that matter)
Ms. Termini is truly an incredible teacher. I don't understand what the reviewer below says about her 3 kids; plenty of people like her and she is a kind and thoughtful teacher. More importantly than that, she is brilliant and will be one of the most knowledgable teachers you ever have at Hunter. Consider yourself lucky if you have Ms. Termini. She may be challenging, but her class is truly taught at the college level.
Best teacher at the school. Hands down. Helpful, friendly, and hilarious. Creative class, great discussions, great person. You'll miss her when you have Kudera...
Ms. Termini is incredibly fair and one of the most interesting and engaging teachers I've ever had. She makes the class incredibly interesting and entertaining with her insane outburst and hilarious anecdotes/general nature. I hope I have her again!!
I haven't had her since seventh grade, but I had a lot of trouble with my term paper this year, and she was FAR more helpful than my actual teacher. LOVE HER. So sweet, a fantastic teacher, and so much fun.
ALWAYS willing to meet with you if you need help or just want to talk to her about something. Gives insane amounts of homework and her tests cover a lot, but I still love her! The first social studies/global/etc. teacher I've had at this school who doesn't put me to sleep.
I agree that she's amazing. Absolutely love her. Not sure which school 1/07/10 is going to because many many Hunter teachers are amazing.
Best. Teacher. At. Hunter. There really is no argument about this.
The ONLY teacher I have ever had in Hunter who was able to actually teach. Her personality and overall awesomeness is just an added bonus.
THE BEST PERSON WHO HAS EVER WALKED THE FACE OF THE EARTH! CONGRATULATIONS!
She is my favorite teacher ever! She is so nice and helpful and is just an awesome, cool and funny person. Her classes are almost always interesting and funny. She is really into what she teaches. She can be strict sometimes though, and she can give a lot of homework and hard assignments. She is still the best teacher EVER though!
Smart AND funny. Now that's something you don't see everyday. Quizzes are a beast thought, so watch out. SHe never answers a question directly, so watch out. Always take note, participate and at least look like you are paying attention. 100% easy.
I love her, personally. But, she is totally into her way, and that is all. She is super smart and that is what class is about...getting that across to us. Like I said, I love her, but can see why people don't. Her tests are a bit all over the place.
Vanna is amazing!! She is a great teacher and really loves what she does. Consider yourself lucky if you have a class with her.
Her classes are mostly unclear, one day we corrected her and she ignored us and ended confusing everybody. Her class is hard, and she gives out the most homework. Outside of class she is very nice and fun to be with. Also, if she sees you studying in the hall, she will gladly come and help you.
she's a great teacher, loves her work, and has lesson ideas that are very interesting. difficult though, but if you put some effort in, you'll learn a lot. definitely knows what shes doing.
She's so enthusiastic and into what she teaches. Its hard to not pay attention in her class. Some of the assignments she gives are hard, but she made social studies one of my favorite classes. !!!!!!
She doesn't even know how to grade tests. She says that her tests are all about 'the concept' without even taking in reality. Like, will the price of pencils rise or fall on the day of a test? 1 test?
her class is soo much fun... i havent been finding it particularly hard either
The hardest Social studies teacher I've ever been taught by, but she's a great teacher.
intense class. u gotta put in a lot of effort but u learn a lot. SO willing to help u out. bad at making tests, handwriting illegible. lessons are interesting, she involves everyone & loves 2 teach
The best SS teacher in the department so far as I can tell. She really pushes you to analyze more, but you learn so much from her and she'll always take the time to sit down with you after school and help. Her enthusiasm for her subject rubs off on everyone in the room, and her class=the best!
She is a very interesting and friendly person. Seems very popular. Has a good sense of humor. Is engaging.
YAY MS. TERMINI!!!! you are soooooo helpful and kind and you are the best official teacher!
She is very stern, and strict in other words, but she teaches really clearly. She was very helpful in the past month, and I got great notes from her review session before a big test.
She's just so great! She's the best teacher in the whole school! when I talk to her outside, she is so , well...cool!
She's a tough grader, but she teaches you so much. If you talk to her outside of class, you see how chill and laid back she is. She has a passion for teaching which is cool.
Very good teacher, but watch out- she made someone stand in the corner once :D
An amazing teacher; very nice about having review sessions before tests.
excellent teacher, i love this woman, very smart, and beautiful, just overall a great person, p.s. ben stix has a crush on you
She is a GREAT Social Studies teacher. She really knows everything about it offhand. She also is fun, has an interesting sense of humor, but gives a ton of homework.
She is my favorite high school teacher, who happens to teach my least favorite subject. She's truly amazing.
she's a good teacher and i learn, but it is often tough
I LOVE MS. TERMINI! She's the first social studies teacher I've had who actually made me love the subject. She's funny, extremely smart, and she cares.
She is the best teacher on the entire planet. She made me love social studies forever and it's obvious she's passionate about the subject and is really helpful.
She fostered in me a love for American History. I'm not the only one in my grade who hopes 'be Ms. Termini.'
Ms. Termini is the best teacher I've ever had. She expects sooo much from everyone but thats becasue she knows we can do it. i learned so much in her class!!
Awesome! she expects alot, but teaches twice as much, i think its great she expects so much, weeds out those ppl that dont do work --they annoy me so much--
Good teacher but needs to take the Hardness down a notch
She's a nice person but talks way to much and goes off on tangents so that you end up more confused than before. Also she expects a lot.
I love Ms. Termini!!! She asks for a lot, but she definitely puts in just as much! Always willing to help and willing to listen...ahh too awesome!
She is one of the most qualified teachers in our school, actually knows what she's talking about, is organized, and is always eager to help if we need it!!
She always wants to help, she's clear, and a great, great teacher. Maybe it's because I love history, but she really makes me interested in the subject.
One of the toughest teachers i've ever had, very tough grader, TONS of work every night. But great teacher, extremely enthusiastic, even taught us Tai Chi once!
She's tough, but she's an awesome teacher. And her classes are great -- lots of info, with a lively dose of sarcasm and humor.
great teacher and really makes class fun. But as other people have said, a reaaaally har class. 50 pages of notes=B+. but shes mad nice and rote me a recomend
Ms Termini is a great teacher. I hate ss but i loved her class and i loved her.
Yes, she is hard, but her personality is very sweet. She always wants to help, and even though you have to work, she is still one of the best teachers around.
She runs a tough, but very lively and entertaining class. She's one of the best teachers in the school, period.
i've never actually had her as a teacher but she's explained stuff to me and she's so warm and open in the halls that how could you help but love her??
Works really hard to bring lots of interetsing art into the lessons. she's really nice. she's really smart.
she's a good teacher, and the class is interesting, but she thinks she's the only class we have. also, she holds double-standards sometimes.
shes such a tough teacher ... her class is interesting but my god is so hard just to get an A-
She grades hard, but her classes are some of the most interesting I've ever taken.
