Mr. Marchant's Humanities 10 class is a totally unique environment in comparison to all other history classes. He acts laid-back but teaches well. Due to his seemingly lazy and even careless personality, a lot of students struggle to pay attention as he's constantly taken advantage by troublemakers or loud-mouths in the class. These interruptions can be detrimental to your learning, yet his exams aren't hard. Self-study and reread the textbook chapters he covers after every lesson! Best of luck.
Worst teacher I've ever had. Wouldn't give us a study guide for our final even though he knew I needed it. Counted things missing even when the entire class didn't know it was assigned. Awful.
He was a laid back teacher and understands history in different perspective and very professional and well when it comes to speaking of SAGA community and/or different race. Slightly vague directional tests were difficult but over all a good teacher.
He was the worst teacher I've ever had. Didn't give us a study guide for the final. Awful.
The only way to pass the class is to self-study and read the textbook thoroughly before each quiz/test.
People on here are f-ing ruthless, responses fueled by anger.
I think Mr. Marchant is fairly reasonable with his exams, and I do not spend hours preparing for them. He is good at explaining history as well, however, some things that he could change for better is giving more visuals in his power points, maybe more thorough study guides for 5in5s and tests, nd more group work.
If you are failing his class, maybe ask what part of the grade reflects upon yourself, as opposed to a teacher?
I think Mr. Marchant is an awesome teacher. He always has time for his students and always tries to make the classroom environment fun. I think if a student enjoys a class more that he will learn more as well and Mr. Marchant does that perfectly. #Greg4Prez
Had him for Econ. Literally the funniest teacher you will ever meet! I laughed so hard in the class. He is super chill with the students and very very easy going! The class is not stressful at all. He kinda is a slacker himself so he doesn't teach super well but at least every time I go into the class I feel happy.
I have this teacher last year and I think his tests are pretty easy. However, I cannot learn a lot from him. He is a funny man when he is not teaching
I had Mr Marchant sophomore year for us history. He is a great teacher who is very funny and knows how to make the class fun. I will have him again for econ next semester and am really exited. His tests and quizzes are easy as long as you read the chapters he assigned. He sometimes even lets you use your notes. He loves using the phrase the Butcher The bake And the candlestick maker
He's a pretty bad teacher overall. His tests and quizzes are so easy if you memorized the textbook/ chapters that he has assigned. He doesn't really know what he is doing but he tries hard to make it seem like he does. If you get into his class its both good and bad. The good part is that you can relax and just laugh at the way he makes fun of each student but the bad part is that you won't learn anything that the textbook hasn't already taught you.
He knows his history well, he's just not good at teaching the material to the students. Minimum day = minimum effort. He's a fun teacher and all, and a class I can relax in, but it doesn't offer much to learn. He's a good staff, just not a good teacher.
It's true that he's funny, but seriously, he has no idea how to teach. He assigns several chapters to read, and each quiz that is accompanied with them for the next class is purely on extremely minor and trivial terms that you would NEVER go over again. It's complete memorisation. Literally, the textbook doesn't elaborate on these terms AT ALL, and they appear only ONCE in all the chapters. YOU DO NOT WANT THIS TEACHER.
Mr. Marchant is a hilarious laid-back teacher and he really makes learning enjoyable, I never really liked history until this class
Mr. Marchant is a little bit below average. He's very knowledgable, but they don't come out on the test. i know a friend who slept in every one of his class and aced it by reading the book carefully.
Nicest and funniest teacher at Northwood. Doesn't give the best instruction but for god's sake, how hard is it to do well on his quizzes? It's straight memorization. You get more out of this class abo
I don't know why people gave him such a bad rating, the funniest teacher on earth, goes over things not very clearly but his class is easy for economics
I actually didn't have too much of a problem in his class (I remembered some stuff from the class in APUSH), but he does just repeat what the textbook says and class can be a total bore sometimes.
Hilarious teacher, funny like Mr. Harrington, but such a horrid teacher.
Ugh, he's a cool guy, but none of his lectures are helpful at all. You've just gotta read the book. Classtime is a little pointless.
cool teacher but i hate the chapter "green heading" summaries YUK. well, still he's funny and awesome so it equals out :)
great, hilarious teacher. college class-style. if you decide to slack off, your loss. he's very chill, not the type to bark at you if you fall asleep. he might poke you for fun (experienced it).
he's hilarious but he gets really off track. he's great to talk to, but hard to learn from.
awesome teacher. if you laugh at his jokes, he'll love you
funniest guy ever x] Doesnt really teach the material in class tho, so make sure u learn the stuff urself. The classes are easy and they breeze right through
very good teacher, if you dont understand him, then you should switch out to special ed
hes extrememly funny which makes history class lighter and not so tedious. although his teaching style may be a bit foggy at times, if you LISTEN in class, you will be fine. He knows a lot about history. A lot.
wayy cool, funny and nice, gets the message accross clearly and is willing to help way cool teacher!
wierdest teacher i ever had, totally unorthodox. once you figure out how he operates its pretty easy to get by
