Very good teacher. Explains things well and can teach you a lot if you are willing to do all the assigned work. He should, however, be more interactive with the class during lectures though. Should allow more questions and ask more questions.

Not just a great teacher; great guy all around- really knows the material and is very effective at communicating. Makes students want to learn more and inspires them. One of the best teachers ever.

This dude is a boss. If you look that up in the dictionary (the word 'boss') you WILL see picture of Mr. Hand underneath it, or on the side. Watch out for his multiple choice tests though.

A LOT of HW, but the tests are okay. Every HW he gives you helps you better understand US history in some way. Excellent teacher, and very funny. Prepares you well for the AP.

Kind of a weird guy, but generally a good teacher. Not usually very hard, but sometimes he puts really specific and/or really random questions on his tests that can be a little tricky.

For AP US history: He gives LOADS of work, but each assignment is very useful. He is extremely helpful when it comes to essay writing, offers private help for essay review and very helpful for prep for the AP testing

I recommend taking Africa or Former USSR. I took it as a joke but now that I'm in college, I refer to what I learned in those classes a lot. Hard to get along with sometimes but if on his good side, he'll cut you some breaks

Mr. Hand is unique in that he has extremely high expectations for all of his students and himself. He actually reads everyone's 50 pages of homework each quarter. US History AP- 5!

One of the best teachers in the school. You'll do a lot of work in his class, but it pays off. He's highly devoted to teaching, and his lectures are full of useful information. The tests are incredibly difficult, however.

Mr. Hand sets high expectations and expects everyone to do their work. I highly respect him because he is understanding and fair, and because he motivated me to really study for my AP exam. I would recomend him, he inspires.
