First of all, for the person who commented below, all Stuy science classes are honors level (it is not only Esper that gives out SAT II level work.) I don't know where you have been for last 2 years. You're a junior yet you don't even know Stuy's curriculum.
Esper can be hard for students who are doubling up AP Calculus and Physics C. The class can be very fast and hard to understand. Try to study by yourself and not fall behind.
Esper is very knowledge about physics, but he is hard to understand sometimes and goes at a fast pace for kids that do not get the subject. His tests are for honors students and are at SAT II level. His class requires a lot of self teaching and studying.
Esper is a great physics C teacher. TAKE NOTES!! He derives absolutely everything so you know where it comes from, and insists on making sure that everyone understands the material before moving on. I
Even though I will readily tell you that I hate physics with a passion, Mr. Esper actually is a good person. He knows his stuff SO WELL and can prove just about anything. His class is hard, his tests
his accent helps me to focus. the only problem is that he spends WAY too much time in classes proving those complicated theories, which is often unnecessary. he got really hard worksheets for student
amazing. if you are in phys C you will learn tons if you try to follow and understand what he's doing-ask questions!-and you will be rewarded so much in college. the hardest version of MIT freshman mech is a breeze now
teaches lecture style, and he really knows his stuff. Its up to you to study the textbook beforehand so that you understand where all those equations come from.tests are doable but you should study for them very seriously.
He knows his physics. He's hard but as long as you prepare for the class/study for the exams, you'll be fine. Awesome teacher who makes me regret not trying hard enough in his class.
"SOO FAR SO GOOD" That is his favorite saying. He's ok so far
Knows what he's talking about, very willing to explain concepts and keep explaining until you understand. VERY patient, occasionally funny. BUT his tests are DEMONIC and he gives a TON of them. Also, he's a hard grader.
I learned a lot from this man without every realizing I was learning. He teaches at a higher level than he has to which makes you learn the basics much more. His tests are really hard but he grades easy overall. Nice Guy
I should like him, considering I learned nothing from his class and my physics grade keeps increasing everytime we get our transcripts.
Has an accent, makes class difficult. Difficult class cause honestly, the guy just doesn't know how to teach
Mr. Esper is the man. I had him for AP Physics. He sure does know physics!
