He is a seemingly smart man, but very biased. He does not know how to teach non AP US history, and he is too harsh on students who obviously did not take APUSH for a reason. He threatens to give extreme exams for us not understand our work, and gives AP tests and assignments to standard history class. He has a very unsettling and sinister attitude where it seems like he just wants to punish and hurt students. Not a very genuine guy.
Most people in my class hated Mr. Wright. But here's the thing-- Those kids were complete slackers. It's easy to hate a teacher for being too difficult if you don't put in any effort yourself. Mr. Wright was a difficult teacher but I learned a lot in the class. It's a shame that my other classmates were kind of jerks.
There aren't really words to explain how amazing of a person Mr. Wright is. I didn't have him for History, so I haven't really experienced his expertise in that subject or content. But I'm writing this rating because he deserves to know the countless hours his puts into his profession pay off. No matter what. He inspires me. He makes me a better person! I laugh every day in his class. And the way he is able interact with his students, promoting positive relationships is amazing.
Very smart guy, knows his stuff. He is pretty funny too I just wish he taught more in class, 85% of the material you learn is from your own reading at home out of the book which is a shame because I would have liked to scene him teach for sure.
Nice guy, doesn't really teach you anything. As long as you read the textbook you will be fine. He is a pretty easy grader, so just make sure you get the work done.
overall cool guy, really interesting, i actually learned something for a change.
hes a very down to earth type of person and his class (APUSH) is hard but if you actually read the book (Baily) and stay wake in the class then you should be fine, but don't expect an "A" so easily.
Needs to get a better teaching partner for Am. Studs, otherwise a very cool guy.
what an awesome guy and awesome apush teacher. he knows what he's talking about. just dont fall behind with the reading and work
At first I thought he was too hard and boring. But now i think he's a really funny, informative teacher. Knows alot about history.
probably not the best choice to teach a.p. just average
Decent at teaching but another one that seems way too used to teaching AP and honors level courses to grade regular fairly. You're going to need to try (possibly a lot) to do well in a class of his.
Great guy very understanding. He knows how the students work and helps them through uniqe applications. On top of that he is very intelligent and makes hard classes like APUSH a lot better.
after sleeping through 2 years of social studies getting good grades Wright is my wake up call. I might actually learn something for a change and stay awake
Had him 4 years ago in Sycamore. He inspired me to become a teacher. One of the best teachers EVER. -Doty
mr. Wright is a cool guy-- mondays are the best b/c all we talk about are movies and weekends! he explains things really well and its an easy class
Hes a nice guy just nothing extraordinary. I really wish he could stop giving so much homework though. thats not cool.
Seemed to take points at every chance. I would always use the same effort on our Zinn grids, but I would receive grades from 16/20 to 20/20. A student, got a B
mr. wright thanks for the inspirational speeches, cant wait for more. great coach
he is a relly fair teacher and for the most a really good teacher
