Going through the motions. Not particularly adept at conveying the topics so all students can succeed. Expects honors students to teach themselves ("that's why this is an honors class"). Teaches to the students who excel in the subject. Been at it too long - time to retire.
To the last poster... you are obviously not honors science material... Mr Lucey is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Honors Chemistry was one of the worst experiences of my life. Every single one of my classmates agree with me when I say that Mr. Lucey is the most unorganized and rude teacher to every walk through Wilton High School. He favors certain students and completely ignores others. Sometimes during a test in a multiple choice, no answer that is given is correct, so he expects for you to write in an answer without giving you warning. If you are in Chem 3 SWITCH TO RINALDI IMMEDIATELY. Take my advice.
AMAZING. He is the BEST teacher EVER! Really cares and wants EVERYONE to do well!!!!
He stated, Honors students teach themselves , we do not teach them. And they must know where to go to find out answers by themselves. He plays favorites, confuses concepts, ignores or is unaware of errors in the textbooks, misleads students and his superiors about what will be covered on exams or what goes on during class time. He arrived significantly late to class numerous times. He denied full time on tests or quizzes to students who asked questions, was unavailable for clarifications.
Mr. Lucey is one of my favorite teachers. I had him for Honors Chem and yeah, the material was difficult, but he had super useful worksheets that help you understand what you don't know. Makes chemistry concepts easier to understand, and even now taking genchem at U of Michigan, I still remember very clearly how he taught certain concepts. Lucey is approachable, helpful, and most importantly, he legitimately cares about his students. Definitely take chemistry with him! Or Mrs. Rinaldi.
Average difficulty in class and very helpful! My favorite teacher so far .
Such a fantastic teacher, hilarious, and easy to talk to. I really enjoyed his class! Not the easiest, but that's because I took chem 3. I went in for extra help and it was actually very helpful. Highly recommend!
Great guy, Great teacher. His lectures are very clear and the way he teaches and runs his class is awesome. Bottom line.
the absolute man!......One of the best teachers you will ever have !
mr lucey is the BEST TEACHER EVER. never had a better teacher than him. he shaved off his goatee lol!
He knows chemistry very well, and is extremely helpful outside of class. His class is difficult, but all chemistry classes will be difficult : good teacher.
Class was horrible. Had to teach yourself. No structure. Nice guy but stay away from chem 3.
Amazing teacher. Great guy, corny jokes. Made class fun. He didn't expect more than you were capable of and you wanted to live up to his expectations.
amazing teacher... possibly the best ive ever had... high but reasonable expectations
make sure to take ap envi sci with him...he is the best teacher
I cannot say enough good things about him - helpful, caring, but most of all he respects each of his students as people. Easily the best teach in the system love you lucey!
the best teacher in the wilton school system by far. hilarious and caring and actually teaches well at the same time.
He is an amazing teacher! One even laughs at his bad jokes (which are many)!
Mr. Lucey is the man. Not only does he care about you, his class is also worthwhile.
greatest teacher ever he actually cares about each and everyone of his students
