I had her for government. She is extremely smart but a poor teacher. Most of her tests were unnecessarily difficult and nearly never reciprocated the material we were given in class. I learned most of the material on my own time because in class she spent way too much time talking about inside jokes with her prior apush students and her personal life. She always seemed like she wanted to trick or outsmart you rather than help you learn. Very poor experience overall.
Hansen is one of the best etchers I ever had at MHS. Very nice if you follow her rules. She gives time to mess around and talk, so she expects you to listen when she is trying to instruct. Such a cool teacher.
One of the worst teachers I have ever had, does not teach anything in class, instead she has us go home and learn it ourselves. Its called being a teacher for a reason.
Her classes, all of them, are ridiculously difficult, super strict, no smiles, felt like educational prison. Class consists of daily notes, homework = essays....all day every day. NO SLACK. 2nd semester is easier if you survive 1st..
Great teacher! Love her class and she knows her stuff.
Great for entertaining lectures and she really prepares you for the AP test, but she barely teaches you how to write for her and it becomes an annoying trial and error process. Her readings are awful and pointless, and she gets off topic a lot and it made her do 3 decades in a week once, but she would get extremely angry at anyone who would ask her to not digress so much. She has a really bad temper too, and would get angry at kids for seemingly minor things such as being late.
In all honesty, my APUSH class this year tarnished my love of History. She is extremely "elitist" and will stick her nose up at you any chance she gets. She will grade you based on how much she likes you, regardless of how hard you may work on something. Falsely accuses students, and straight up is one of the most wishy-washy teachers at McIntosh.
Amazingly entertaining lectures, but she gets off topic very often and by the end of the year she had to rush through 3 decades, and if anyone ever mentioned that she gets off topic too much, she would get so angry. Many of her readings are convoluted and awful, and you're kind of own your own in learning how to do FRQs for her. You learn a lot about History while being entertained, but you will also suffer many headaches and angry rants to people.
Wasn't that hard of a teacher to be honest. As for note taking, she has her study guides online and you just write down whatever's not on the study guide when she shows the powerpoint in class. Also with bring your own technology, keeping up with her was fairly easy. FRQ's and DBQ's are hard, but tests have a fair curve. Projects are kinda demanding. Other than that she's not that bad.
She went through notes so fast that by the second week I gave up and just started writing down random words or phrases from the power points so she wouldn't call me out on not taking notes (which she will if she catches you). Her readings were long and usesless and took up a lot of ink and paper from my printer. But I did like that she really did prepare you for the ap test, which I did surprisingly well on. Other than that she has a HUGE temper. She really acts childish when she gets angry
Mrs. Hansen is a great teacher who is concerned with the success of her students. It is the hardest A I have ever earned, but I have learned so much from her. But be careful because "beatings will continue until morale improves" (It's a pirate saying).
Hansen's **** awesome. She's the best damn teacher ever. Don't listen to anyone who talks s**t about her.
I seriously don't know why people talk s**t about Mrs. Hansen. She's an excellent teacher; her tests and FRQs are somewhat difficult, but they're designed that way so you won't think the AP test is overwhelming. I like her method of teaching, although she flies through notes extremely fast. After all, it is a college leveled course. I just finished AP Macroeconomics and I can honestly say that I've learned to think in a whole 'nother way. Definitely memorable year so far. I love Mrs. Hansen(:
Mrs. Hansen is a super strict teacher who knows a lot about what she's teaching, but not about how to teach it. We took notes from powerpoints every day and she went through them so fast that I never used the notes-they were incoherent little bits of uselessness. Also, make sure you never stop taking notes or move or smile or else she will call you out on it every time. If you are shy and quiet, she will probably not like you (like me). If you are talkative, she will love you. Good luck...
she's nice but I think it's going to be a very hard class .
I have had Hansen for two years and have found her challenging but I learned more in her class than in most others.
Mrs.Hansen is one of the best teachers i have ever had. Her class is hard. I have had her for two years and it is challenging. She is very knowledgeable. As a student you love her or hate her.
I love her - and the AP test was easy after taking her class!
she's a pretty good teacher but she has a huge temper thats easy to set off
Tests are hard but the class is fun. Tough on essays but her advice is useful.
Her lectures usually have little to no significance to what we are studying and her multiple choice tests are poorly made and opinionated.
Fun teacher. Tests are ridiculously hard. Usually almost every answer seems like it is correct.
Easy class with some of the hardest tests I've ever taken.
I LOVE MRS HANSEN. TAKE HER CLASS ITS SO EASY YOU HAVE ALMOST NO WORK TO DO EVER. THE BEST PART IS THE MUSEUM PROJECT IT'S PRACTICALLY A FREE 100 OMG MY GRADE IS LIKE A 99 AND THIS IS AN AP CLASS HAHAHAHAHAHA
i had her for debate last year- that was hard,we would wright speaches in 10 minitues and spend weeks on others. I hope it will be better planed out because i plan to take AP US history-
Standard AP class - much reading, writing, notes every day. I haven't taken the AP test, but I would like to think I have learned a good deal from this class.
A really hard teacher. You have to learn to wrte notes QUICKLY. she goes very quickly with her notes.
Her class can be very tough if you don't study and use the present tense in your papers. Friday quizes are also hard.
