Curtis is overall a great guy. He can tend to get off task sometimes, but all teachers do at times. He is extremely helpful, you just have to be willing to seek help. It is amazing how positive and energetic he remains when considering all that he has been through in the past few years. His class will definitely prepare you for physics in college, and it is one of the more challenging AP science classes offered at CHHS. Just do your homework and extra credit and it will be easy to get an A.
Mr.Curtis teaches very differently. The best thing to do in his class is DO YOUR HOMEWORK. He will help you if you are clear in your questioning. His tests are hard, but gives bonuses and gives partial credit like crazy. You will be teaching each other a lot, as that is one of his main beliefs, that if you understand the material you can teach it to each other. Be sure to read your textbook, but he touches on a lot of the things you need for AP test.
His class takes some getting used to but in retrospect his teaching style WILL prepare you for college. In the past few years he's gone through a lot, yet has found a way to come to class with nothing but a smile. I don't know anyone else that can do this. This man isn't as much a teacher as he is a voice of reason, a shoulder to cry on, and a friend... who happens to know one or two things about physics. DO YOUR HOMEWORK, it will make ALL the difference. Use chegg.com, it's incredibly helpful.
Mr Curtis is actually the bomb diggity.
Tests are hard, but he grades very generously. I feel unprepared for the AP exam. Read your textbook.
Funny, easy-going, unhelpful, and somewhat lazy. Didn't learn much in the class but I enjoyed it anyway (because he's a cool guy and it's a cool class)
Curtis is funny and can talk about football for hours and hours. Although his class (AP) is not a breeze he does give a lot of extra credit. High entertainment value. Take it..!!
Tough class but Curtis is great, and knows his stuff. Always willing to give extra help. If you think that he isn't clear, don't take a college level physics course with him!
Isnt always very clear about topics, but is very curteous to help you.
The NASCAR lab rocked. :o) I learned a lot of stuff besides physics in his class. The class was a good intro to college physics and A LOT of fun.
One of the best teachers at CHHS. I find myself agreeing with most of his rants. If you have the motivation you'll do fine in his class.
Curtis is one of the coolest teachers that anyone will ever meet. He may breeze over things in class, but if you are willing to put in the work, he will too.
Obviously, everyone who complained about his teaching abilities or speed are those who are not intellectually prepared for AP physics. The kids good, very good
Curtis is the cool. Rock on Mr.Labonte. Enjoy the nascar on the wall..
one of the most qualified teachers and nicest people i have ever met.
One of the best teachers at CHHS. Cares more about students and tries to get to know them better than any other teacher at CHHS.
Curtis is one of the best teachers at CHHS he really cares about what he does BUT he expects you to actaually do work and take responsibilty on yourself.
i've never had curtis but he is still one of the coolest teachers at this school
I don't care what anyone says, Curtis is a good guy and a good teacher.
Great class! Curtis makes physics enjoyable, but also tries to stretch our minds with ridiculously involved problems on the tests.
Nice guy, provides detailed explanations of basic concepts but expects students to expand on them
More interested in being liked than in teaching what we need to know
