I wouldn't be where I am today without Mr.wardeska s teachings. I m lucky to be in BHS and even luckier to try marching band. He teaches us to think different, act with integrity, give respect to others and always be on time. It s hard to put his teachings into words, because you just can't describe how a person change you. We might forget what a person say and do, but never how they make us feel. If I change the world, it would be partly because I had Mr. Wardeska as my music teacher. Thank you
He was a great teacher for the most part. He did seem to pick favorites but that could mainly be attributed to him focusing on those who worked the hardest. He had some fits of anger at times, especially when we (as a band; marching band, wind ensemble, etc) were performing sub par or not trying our best. Overall he is a great teacher and can teach you a lot provided you do your best.
Mr. Wardeska is the most amazing teacher I have ever had. He's the perfect combination of sarcastic and kind, and truly cares for every one of his students. He is intelligent, has a great sense of humor. I definitely love having him as a teacher. He has done so much for me and other students.
Amazing teacher, love going to his class everyday.
To those of you that are bashing on him, I ask you to please consider everything that he has done for you; maybe not personally, but as a whole. The amount of time & effort that he puts into his students & the music program at BHS is beyond me. If you're talking bad about someone who only wants the best from you, even if you can't see it, then maybe you need to stop criticizing others and take a look in the mirror. I love Mr.W & I wouldn't be the person I am today without him. Thanks, JDubbs :)
I never had him as a music teacher, but I was in marching band, and he has taught me more than just marching basics and drill pages. He,100%, is for his students and NOT himself. Yes, his expectations are high but thats because he knows that his students have that potential. In this generation, expectations for students are lower and teachers only expect the bare minimum...but with Mr. W..he wants his students to reach their full potential. I will never regret my years in marching band with him.
I'm a 2005 alumni and cannot say enough about Mr. Wardeska. He is more than just a band director. If you truly listen to him, he will teach you much more than music that will help you succeed in life. Even though he pushed us insanely hard, he did it because he saw the potential that we all had. That is why we excelled in every event that we attended. For all of you badmouthing him, he is NOT the problem. You need to reassess the situation you were in and think about if YOU gave up to early.
The best teacher I have ever had. He constantly pushes his students to accept nothing but the best they can do.
This is one of the best musicians, and teachers i have met to date. If it wasn't for him and the Jazz Band I would never have developed into the musician I am today. All the bashing on this website is probably from people that didn't put the time in and practice like they were suppose to. He had a short fuse when it came to that. He want's you to be the best you can be and won't settle for less than perfection. Great band director and musician and visionary.
Aw, Mr. Wardeska was quite an amazing guy. He taught me so much musically as well as life lessons and facts. I would do anything to go back to that band. He truly inspired me to pursue in music.
Is a great teacher. His attitude could be better but overall is very good
you peple who are bashing mr w cuz he works you too hard then QUIT news flash we wouldnt be as successful as we are if we didnt try hard. get over it hes gonna push you to do ur best, its his job!!!
Best teacher I have ever had. I'm looking forwards to the next years i have with him. Hope it's as good as the last two.
He is the worst teacher I've had. Complains all the time and never does anything himself to fix the problem. Get a clue, you are the problem.
I learned a lot from Mr. W, good and bad. It's not about winning, it's about doing your best, learning from your mistakes and moving forward. Can't be perfect ALL the time, especially 100+ students.
He takes too much time out of class to complain about how far the program could have gone with the class of 2007. Now he's threatening to leave if the program doesn't move forward. Nice guy he is...
Glad this year's over. No way will I do it again next year.
he is the coolest teacher at brunswick high he is and amazing band director and he is the funniest smartest and nicest man on the planet keep it up mr.w!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mr. W is an excellent conductor and he really knows how to get people motivated. one of the best music teachers I've ever had, and I'm a harsh critic
Mr.W is an amazing educator. He may not have the best personality but he is a musical genius. You all need to stop bashing him. And the seniors who quit were quiters not the best seniors in the band.
This man does our band such a diservice. It's an embarrassemnt to BHS when you go to a game and have to sit through the junk he makes these poor kids play.
Plays favorites with students and parents. Can be incredibly cruel and seems to be proud of that.Promises to meet with student and/or parent and then does not.
Despite some treatment I've myself recieved music is still where I plan to take my life. The only suggestion I have for Mr Wardeska is to, perhaps, try and understand his students better. Discouraging
Mr.W has helped me understand music better and its been fun but he needs to understand that people have other lives other than band and people have feelings too
What happened? Your students loved you when i was a freshmen but now as a senior your losing the band. Your losing some of your best juniors because you've turned them away. See you at the parade.
I wouldnt say he is hard to understand. He knows what he wants and leads you there. If you dont want to be part of somthing special then join another group.
To fallen soldiers let us sing, Where no rockets fly, nor bullets wing, Our broken brothers let us sing, To the mansions of the Lord. Thank you for believing in us this season!!
Mr. W is like a father to me and he has always been there for me and he has encouraged me to become the best i can be. Thank you so much.
This man is amazing..He helped me grow so much over this year. I will cherish the last years I have with him--You made a big difference in my life, THANK YOU!
you have very bad relationships with your students, you've ruined a big part of music for me,you are a very talented conductor, but a very poor role model
If you don't want to give up your family, friends&activities-your life, than DON'T join this man's band. You MUSTbecome part of HIS "family".Controlling&spiteful.
Band is fun, and a lot of it is due to him. While he does have to be rather bitter every once and a while, it's only cause he really loves us all.
Mr. Wardeska is a wonderful educator. He not only teaches about music, but also life. He expects the most out of his students- the way it should be.
His mean-spirited treatment of certain members of other musical departments was simply inexcusable. There are better role models to have - band is not life.
Mr. W is wonderful! He helps you realize where you are going in life! He's inspired many people to go into music, including me!! THANK YOU!!!
He should really learn how to keep his promises, not embarass people in front of the entire class, and understand that some people have lives other than band.
You are the best teacher I have ever had and you have helped everyone in band to become a better person! I will never forget you!!
Mr. W, I just wanted to say that you inspire me to work harder and to take the road less traveled by because honestly that does make all of the difference.
I have lots of fun in band... it's what I look forward to EVERY DAY! Thanks Mr. W.!!
