The grade you get on your first paper is usually the grade you get in the class. Put in effort in your papers and it should be an easy A. The writing style doesn't actually have to be good; you just have to talk about what she wants you to talk about. To know what she wants, take notes when she talks about a specific thesis in class or go into her office and talk to her. This is one of the few classes at IMSA that are easy A's as long as you put in some effort. She has a note check so take notes
Make sure you get on Dr. Kadel's good side at the beginning of the school year and work hard on your first paper, because it will set her attitude towards you, at least for first semester. Her grading is slightly biased, so be careful of that. Definitely go into her office and talk to her, because she can be very helpful and it will show her that you are serious about the class, which is always good.
She's not very consistent in her grading and her teaching. Also, her paper prompts are sometimes very vague. If you want to do well, you must go in to talk to her.
This teacher has a unique insite into the working mind of students, excellent after school help which is greatly appreciated.
Incredibly boring class. Grades papers really subjectively. Teaches using movies a lot, which sounds cool, but I can never stay awake. A good teacher shouldn't need to rely on films 25% of the time. She's also very focussed on the mechanics (citations, primary quotes, to be verbs, etc.) of the paper.
Kadel is an ok person i guess, but her class is pointless. It's obvious that she grades the students that she likes A LOT easier than those she doesn't like.
her class is boring, but i guess it's easy to get her off track, you just have to find the right topic. :)
Although her class is pretty boring (and VERY easy to fall asleep in!), she herself is a pretty nice teacher. She defintitely gives help if you ask for it. Just try to take notes on what she says, and you should be okay.
when i called her she just didn't appear to be interested. VERY unprofessional.
she expects everyone to write like she want us to...EVIL HORSE LOVER
Oh god. I thought she was okay at the beginning of the year, but at the end of the year I wondered how I survived. She plays favorites and won't explain stuff
she is a really nice person, and she like to help when you have any question.
She's a wonderful person and great to just talk to, but the class is boring as all get out. She doesn't know how to lecture, or lead a class discussion.
she's okay. at least she knows what she's talkin about
boring. liked to fail me for 'not providing enough evidence', even though i'd have more footnotes than anyone else. iow, the papers confused me, although i liked the (boring) material.
The only reason I take notes is to stay awake... otherwise, they're useless.
She's alright but little boring. Nice person and she understands if you have problems in your personal life.
you're class is pretty cool but kinda boring sometimes
