He has the knowledge but never told anyone about it.
Extremely knowledgeable and clearly wants all students to succeed. Moves quickly, at almost double speed compared to some other teachers teaching the same class, so it is highly recommended that you ask for help when needed.
Although prone to losing his temper Charuhas, at ill prepared kids, is a good teacher because of the class he is teaching; Low level honors chemistry. He's a pretty zany character with lots of stories to tell about his past students. Worst part imo is he grades your quizzes and tests in front of you making comments such as, "How'd you even do this?" or "what?" however if you can get past that, and stay on top of his notes, you'll have a memorable time in his class.
Dankest chem teacher. Such teach. Very dank
He's pretty prone to losing his temper and comes off as unapproachable, but mainly because the kids he vents his anger towards a.) don't even care, and/or b.) confused but too scared/proud to ask for help. He cares about your progress as well as YOUR grade. If you do well in his class (it's NOT hard to at least get a solid B if you actually try), you can earn his respect. He's a good teacher. Trust me. Just don't do anything dumb.
This teacher is too harsh on the kids who don't do as well. He overreacts to the students and teaches the material too fast, then gets angry that we didn't soak up the information he threw at us. Thank god this class is just like Hon. Matt and Energy.
not as scary as ppl think. goes through the material very quickly and doesn't explain a lot, but when you ask him for help, he'll explain pretty well. he likes when you pay attention in class and do your hw. just don't ask stupid questions.
Ok...so he might seem scary, but I'm doing pretty well in his class right now. As long as you don't ask him stupid questions that might trigger his anger, he's a pretty chill guy. Teaches the whole material and leaves 20 min of class time everyday to do hw. He certainly is intimidating. I just lie low, do well on quizzes/tests and he will like you.
He rushes through his lessons and is not very helpful during class.
Mr. Charuhas is one of the best teachers in the building. He knows the material flawlessly and has anger issues but he only gets angry because he cares. And to those saying that he is super unapproachable, that's a lie. He will always help and is so nice one on one. He is NOT mean, just cynical. Give him a chance, do your homework packet, and you will excel. His quizzes are harder and tests too, but he prepares you not only for the exam, but for AP Chem. You want him for both semesters.
he is good at teaching some units and bad at teaching other units. i could have done so much better had he full-heartedly taught the material. not to mention that he is super unapproachable.
Mr. Charuhas is totally cool. Along with teaching us chemistry, he is also teaching us how to be more proactive students and be more responsible. Thanks Mr. C :)
He's a good teacher, but I've heard other students complain about how hard he is and how mean he is. He was always very nice to me and I did fairly well in his class. So I guess he's just one of those teachers that will be nice to students who understand what's going on.
He comes off as strict, but he is actually very nice and funny, People often misinterpret him to be a mean person, but he is not mean. Although i dont have an A, i do lean a lot. Mr, Charuhas is a good teacher and u will learn in his class.
When I had him first semester, I thought that he was a guy who didn't know what he was doing. Nontheless, I was chill with him as a teacher. However, in 2nd semetser, I look back and see that Mr. Charuhas is actually very knowledgable, and teaches what you need to know. Nothing more, nothing less. He's very straight to the point.
Mr. Charuhas is really funny. He teaches way too fast, yells at students for asking questions (if their dumb), has a short temper, etc. He can be patient if your one of those kids that doesn't get anything. The best part about his class is the massiv
BEST TEACHER EVER. HE Provides 30 minutes free time almost EVERY SINGLE DAY for you to do your own work!
he is an ok teacher. i understand that tis is honors chemistry but he still needs to explain the material.
chemistry is sooooooooooooo fun. mr charuhas is the one of the funniest teachers at school. sure he is strict at times, but he wants u to learn and will give u a good amount of practice.
mr charuhas is a good teacher. he is willing to help you. he likes it when ppl actively participate and actually pay attention. he will not be pleased if ur not. he is funny and the class is fun.
he is really funny and he teaches well. just listen in class and actively participate and ur on ur way to an A in his class. best science teacher ive so far in high school.
i think mr charuhas is good teacher. even though he is strict thats only because he excpects more from his students. ive learned a lot from him so far. im sad i wont have him next semester.
Although strict, he is also funny and I have been learning a lot from his class. Honors Chemistry is kinda hard but he will help. In general, Mr Charuhas is a good teacher.
One of my worst teachers. He talks too fast and is constantly yelling. He likes some students and hates others. He throws papers when passing them back and rips them out of your hands when collecting them. One time when we were taking a test, he was
He's a really good teacher IF he's your type of teacher. I wish he would make the homework mandatory and explain things a little bit more. But although he has a grim disposition, he's actually a very nice person once you get to talk to him and he's
i dont understand y ppl complain about Mr. C. so far he has been a good teacher. he is just really strict which i can understand because this is high school. And he is kinda funny as well. Im excited to be in chemistry and i feel like i will learn a
Mm... scary quiz today! I thought our quiz was on something else that he told us... guess I was wrong?
Sofar he seems like a decent teacher but he is quite intimidating. we had a quiz today and he speaks out loud when grading---meaning he'll b like "O MY GOODNESS WHAT WAS THIS PERSON THINKING?" and ur afraid its ur quiz/lab/test.
Is too fast. It's hard for students who aren't good at chem to follow
Really not that bad. He puts everything on edline if you don't get it, and is always there to help.
why does he teach? he hates his students but loves his alumni... also, he looks like steve jobs.
The man should not be teaching. His lectures are impossible to follow. Got a question? You're in trouble. Aside from insulting your intelligence, he will get ridiculously frustrated, speak in a condescending tone, and yell answers incoherently.
Actually very good at teaching. I don't see why all these people complain about going too fast -- he puts all the notes online and is available for help all the time. If you don't keep up with the class and don't study, you'll probably fail.
if you're not doing the homework, blame yourself, don't blame the teacher. goes a bit too fast but i've had wayyyy worse teachers.
He seems kinda mean, but he is actually funny if you dont take offense at what he says. He explains things one on one much better than he teaches, get over your fear of him and just ask.
He is kind of scary at first, but if you show him that you care about the class, he's actually pretty helpful
sarcastic and intimidating, but he's actually really nice if you talk to him! he definitely knows his chemistry, but might talk too fast. definitely possible to get A's though
keWorst teacher I've had. Extremely impatient, ZOOMS through the notes- average students cannot ep up, makes fun of students to other teachers, no tolerance for mistakes caused by huge pressure to do well on the 3 tests that determine students grade.
How does a straight A student get Ds? "Charuhas" that is very true. doing well in a class falls on both the TEACHER's ability and of course the student's effort..he needs to have more patience with a bunch of high scho
despite his sometimes rough jokes he is a kind guy who does want to help. I've been in to him many times and he is willing to help as long as he knows you are trying. give him a chance
He obviously hates teaching and hates kids. He is a horrible teacher, 3/4 of my class is terrified of asking any kind of questions, because he has no patience or respect for anyone who is confused.
i honestly have no clue why mr churuhas decided to become a teacher. he hates teaching and hates helping people. nonetheless, a fast grader.
Charuhas is misunderstood. Great teacher for kids who are striving for that C cause he teachers for about 20 min but then again its regular Chemistry. If you really cared you'd be in honors
mr. churuhas can't make you understand chemistry if you don't have any background. he skips around when he teaches and he doesn't stop to make sure everyone can follow what he's teaching.
oh wow, where do I start. VERY bad teacher. He doesn't teach a thing and when he does, no one understands him. Also, he doesn't seem to care about the success of students, just his own agenda. No suitable to be a teacher and very picky about grades. Watch out for his stubborness and overall mean qualities if you get him.
okay, i wont argue... he's a little intimidating, and he won't like you if you don't work... but he's really a great chem teacher, if you pay attention. i rarely had to go in for chem help. my advice: from experience, he might make you feel like trash if you ask a question in class, but he's really helpful one on one. he also doesnt like excuses... or people who cut through his classroom :-)
really bad teacher...refused to answer questions and allowed the class to remain totally off task. Gave very poorly organized lectures
not helpful. makes you feel stupid. condescending. knows what hes doing but has no idea how to teach it. good luck keeping your grades up unless you teach yourself or have a tutor.
he's smart but too smart that students can't understant what's he teaching about. And he teaches like the first 10 mins of the class then let the students practice by themselves. It's really hard to learn things from his class unless you are a genious like him. But anyway, he's a nice a person.
Enter his class and know not to get offended by anything he says. Very political but very funny. Doesn't explain much, so read the textbook, but I got my best grades with him. You'll have fun if you're not a freshman cause he makes fun of ALL freshman.
best class i ever had. if u want to learn ull learn and if u dont u can just not do the work. but if u want to u can get an a with jus a lil effort. he is a real good guy and has made chem something to look forward to everyday. ima miss it.
best chemistry teacher i have ever had. you dont do anything in his class. its awesome. and he's like the easiest grader ever
pretty easy grader. Cool to talk to. Seems to know chemistry really well. Good 1 on 1 He just can't explain it to the class really well
MR CHARUHAS FREAKING ROCKS YALL NEEDA SHUTTUP IF YOU DONT UNDERSTAND CHEM SOO EASY AND CHARUHAS IS TIGHT HIS CLASS SO FREAKIN EASY
ok i dont get it he SOOOO NICE! hes only like annoyed when people ask STUPID questions thats all loovvee him
He told me I'd never do well in chem..I am now in my 3rd year of pre-med and on the deans list... try encouraging instead of berating your students.
Mr Charu is the man! Hes got an interesting sense of humor. hes cool because he doesnt care if u sleep in class. keep it up charu!
i had him for matter and energy and he was awful! He became angry if u asked questions didn't teach very well at all.
i dont go to wooten but he tutors form e, helped raise my gradei nchemestry from a d to an a so how could i hate this guy? bad handwriting but overall great!!!
even though i get straight A's in his class, he only seems to like the "popular" people. can't really explain things that confuse students. nice enough.
Very good teacher. Willing to explain things that are unclear and very helpful. He's also really funny if he goes onto one of his tangents...
He is the worst teacher ever!! he takes off his shirt in class, tells us we are stupid and tells us howhe hates teaching.. then if you ask a question he freaks.
he can be really blunt and harsh sometimes but if you can roll with his punches hes very entertaining and a great guy.
nice person, said hi in summer school, but who judges unfairly to his own students, n make him look "unbias"? we def. had a higher jump for viscolastic bounce
From what I hear, he hasn't changed since I had him at Seneca Valley. Hates freshmen, and makes you feel dumb if you don't understand something.
Mr. Charuhas is very nice and always there to help. He really knows his chemistry and is a very good teacher. He does get really mad when students ask ?'s
advice: should cool down when students don't know the material; we haven't been teaching chem for 15 yrs like you
Mr. Charuhas is very nice and he's there to help. he teaches what we have to know but he can be a little intimidating. his handwriting is very bad tho
he loved me because i aced his class. he definitely was a good teacher, maybe you all who didn't think so just weren't good at chem...
I like him... great grading system... im afraid to ask questions tho
i think he is good at chem but very intimidating ad it scares me to ask questions, i like his grading system!
A poor chemistry teacher. Failed first year of chemistry at UMD. Hard to understand and comprehend notes due to poor handwriting and organization. Moves fast, extremely vocal.
he's a pretty good chem teacher. a little intimidating though
