you have to understand what hes saying and rock with his lingo. brilliant guy, learned so much from him!
He doesn't always tell you exactly what to do, but take advantage of that by doing well on something you are able to do and enjoy doing. Once I asked about an essay and he just said "entertain me."
Don't expect to get an A in this class, unless you're a god. He picks on people a lot. Get used to his sense of humor; it can be offensive.
I can tell he's an old-fashioned guy, and probably an authoritarian parent. Tends to favorites, but otherwise a model of what a man should be.
Mr. Devlin is the most hilarious man around...not to mention a caring and down-to-earth teacher behind the philosophy. Oh yeah, and he does not impose unwelcome political views!
great teacher, but tends to impose a lot of his political views, which is annoying, especially to people who don't share a lot of the more liberal views he holds.
Excellent teacher. Excellent class. Don't let him ream your opinion...stand up for yourself.
Whats going on? Where am I? I have to keep asking myself this question to not have an aneurism in this class.
A very in-your-face kind of guy. Be prepared to TALK. I loved Republic, but his tendency to bull you over if you can't explain right away almost ruined it.
It's pretty much a hit or miss. He's a GREAT teacher for an introduction to philosophy class, but the catch is you have to enjoy the subject to appreciate it.
He's a good teacher. What impresses me is that he believes what he teaches.
Very professional, like a college professor. Interesting course material.
cool guy, nice, unlike any other teacher, he is very....wuts the word?
he's kinda weird. most of your learning in his classes are done on your own.
Memorable, quirky, interactive learning...intelligent but off-beat teaching!
One of the best, 20 years later and I still reflect on his teachings.
very friendly -- a little scatterbrained, but a great guy
