Jerry Kotsovos was the most important teacher I have had in my life if you gauge importance by how big an impact he has made. Going to Marshfield in the 1980s he was a breath of fresh air, challenging, and he cared about his students without fail. Thank you Jerry.
He taught me critical thinking skills
you loved him or hated him. I loved him. I loved how he challenged me to think outside of the textbook. I loved how he wanted to teach us truths about our past swept under the rug so that we don't repeat history. I definitely learned I was not a "Polly who wanted a worksheet" but a student wanting to be challenged to come out of "happy stupidity". Kotsovos is someone I will always remember and quote!
I am 56 years old now and will always remember and use what Jerry taught me in High School.
Simply the best teacher I have ever had at any level of education.
Because of this teacher, I can count myself lucky to have escaped being a sheep. I learned how things REALLY work and to educate myself and find the truth for myself. The class was very hard, but it was by far my favorite class.
I loved having him as a teacher. He was the best I have ever had!!! Students today are missing out on a wonderful guy. "You Stupid Parrots"
Man, I had Jerry Kotsovos back in '94. Best teacher I've ever had, from kindergarten though college.
Too bad MHS probably will never see another teacher like him. Positively brilliant.
Jerry gave me the only B of my life, and I appreciate him for it. Study habits developed in AP History stuck to me through grad school. Great laughs - Viva la "Moist Enthusiasm!" Best teacher ever.
This man was a brilliant thinker and did his best to ruffle your "psychological security blanket." I looked forward to his class every single day, and consider myself lucky to have been his student.
this man taught me critical thinking. he was the best teacher of all time!
By far someone who loved teaching. I learned to challenge him as he challenged me and survived? Remember the finger Jerry? :) I teach college because of what I learned from him
One of the best classes I took in highschool. Once he spat on my desk when he was all riled up over "the system" (when *wasn't* he)... but it was...adorable.
"Polly want a worksheet?"--that was his motto. A hard, strict teacher that helps prepare the student to be successful in life. He's harsh but worthwhile
Great teacher, passionate about what he taught, went above and beyond for us
Worked my tail off, aced the AP test, loved his class. He's a legend.
As if your self esteem isnt low enough in your teenage years, he makes it worse.
Boring and Dry. Never had anything good to say about anyone.
I can't say enough! Well organized, enthusiastic, best college prep
hardest class ever, best teacher ever, still enthusiatic after all these years
Actually really enjoyted his class, it was a challenge for me.
Very Tough, but prepared me for College! Thanks, Mr. Kotsovos!
I learned to think & question from this teacher, the greatest gift of all.
He challenges his class to think, rather than just sit!
He always tries to get the students revolt against structured living.
couldn't tolerate people who wouldn't think like him.
His class kicked my butt, but I survived my first year of college because of it.
He always put the students & parents down. If he was nice he would be effecive.
hes the type of teacher that is challenging and harsh, but still really motivati
I took AP history fromhim and learned more than I learned in any college class.
He always put the class down and didn't make me feel very good or smart.
This guy was full of information and loved to talk to his class and I learned
He's an amazing guy. you'll probably never learn as much in as short a time.
