Taught well but was very boring and made it hard to pay attention in his class.
Mr. Carfora is a great teacher who makes you work. There are not enough teachers out there that are as passionate as Mr. Carfora. He will make you earn your grade but in the end you will be thankful for all that you have learned. Any student at Suffern High School would be lucky to have him as a math teacher.
Mr. Carfora was by far the best math teacher I ever had. He kept me challenged in class, explained everything in detail, and made the year go by easy. He kept my love of math going up to this day.
Carfora is a lecturer. He doesn't ask questions and usually doesn't answer any either. He loves his math frac and everything else about his calc. Good luck if you have him for Freshmen level algebra!
Honestly, a nice guy outside of class, willing to say high/joke a bit; but inside, it's a challenge to stay awake. I've fallen asleep at least twice for a few minutes, he wouldn't stop talking if a train busted through the wall. Tests get harder as the year goes by, and if you were an B /A student, you'll struggle to maintain those grades. But seriously, one of the dullest classes ever, ask anyone who had him, they'll agree. The first 4 letters of his name is FRAC backwards, like a calculator.
By far one of the worst math teachers I have ever had, not helpful at all and destroyed my high school days with math from the get go.
Favorite teacher of the year. Clear, concentrated, focused... he made BC calc understandable for me and I admire his drive and love of mathematics. From what I hear, BC Calc is his best course.
I was not a great math student but he is a good and patient teacher
he is the most boring man in this entire world. i am a good student. i have never fallen asleep in a class. ever.. until this year. almost everyday i fall asleep. and i used to be good at math too.
I graduated all the way back in 1980, and Joe Carfora was the reason I was able to pass my Geometry regents test!I never forgot his patience and the time he spent helping me!THX!
i had him for APcalc. reminds me of cary grant or a 1940s movie star. fast paced, witty humor, down to business type. good class and my fave subject = good year
He was a good teacher. I think he might need to lift some weights in the gym. :)
Reminded me of a used car salesman... always rolls his sleeves up
