When I was coming in September I looked him up here and saw all te bad reviews and it seemed like I really needed to transfer out but I didn't and I'm GLAD I DIDN'T. I love mr Anderson his class is pretty funny, I use to be quiet then I realized participation is the key so I started to do it. The best part is that tests don't matter but I still try to get high in them. And seeing as how I'm not an A student I love getting 90s and asking more from him would be greedy, Absent a lot:)ihopeyouhftoo
Anderson is a nice man, and he cracks jokes about people, however he cannot teach. He is pretty knowledgeable about U.S. History, but the students cannot understand from him. He is unable to convey the knowledge to the students. His class is fairly boring however, the jokes he makes are pretty funny; one time it made a girl in my class cry and she did not come to class for the next 3 days. I also like it when Anderson is absent the week after report cards. Overall he is a bad teacher.
The people who gave Anderson a good rating obviously don't care about getting the grade they deserve. Just because the other teachers are worse than him doesn't mean we should lower our standards. A good teacher is a good teacher. And Mr. Anderson is definitely not a good teacher.
His class is awesome lol like half the period he talks about something other than history, like you know... trivial pursuit stuff its pretty interesting to listen to, but yeah that really isn't teaching... At least its not on the test
I cant say I hated him, but i disliked him a lot. He gives me dirty looks and accuses me of sleeping or texting when im reading his notes
Can be a bit boring sometimes, and is not perfect, but he means well. In any case, there are more teachers worse than him than there are better than him. Overall, he's fairly decent.
He's a pretty good teacher. He doesn't really teach about history, but he always makes a connection to it through current events. Anderson debates with you the whole class, and your grade doesn't really matter by tests- mostly the participation in class. Read articles and newspapers and talk about it in class and you passed
he cannot teach, he just stands there and rambles on and on or argue with the rest of the class! sometimes he gives us notes, but his tests are never based on the notes. it is way too hard and sometimes even based on several chapters after. most common ggrades are like 70-80. you wont learn anything in his class, and he doesnt push you to learn either, so you have to push yourself to read the textbook and do the homework which he barely checks and never has anything to do with what he tests us o
if he doesn't like you he will try to find anything to fail you
can't pass his class unless you're a favorite and do his homework. Biased and unrelevant. I hated his class.
He's a great teacher because he actually teaches, and I mean teaches. You'll get homework every day and regular quizzes and tests. Just know what you're doing and you'll be ready for him but note that your grade might not be so high.
He's not a bad teacher - he just likes to pick on you in class. He's a really good economics teacher (I still got a 75 in his class) and he is really helpful. He REALLY likes to argue (his class is more like Judge Joe Brown). He dresses up professionally on a constant daily basis. His homeworks are fairly easy and his tests are easy as well but only if you pay attention in class. Participation is key to a good grade in his class (along with homeworks). Tests don't matter much.
omg! he did not give me the grade i deserve x.x... he only knows you if he constantly picks on you in class. his grades usually depend on class participation >.< he gave me a 70 :[ and i got a 80 on his test and did all his hws..........
his tests are unpredictable and very hard. notes are sorta useless. horrible class.
Don't expect a 90 or more.. ever. First term its usually a 75, then 80, then for final its an 85. His tests are hard but basically he doesn't count them. Participation is a must, and do all your homework. And argue with him. Don't copy all the notes because there's not much point. Just listen and talk to him.. and argue.
tells u a day or two before the actual test. you must participate to earn a good grade. do not annoy him. make sure you copy at least some of the notes from the board. do your homework or you will fail. dont worry if you fail all your tests, our class test average was a 40 ish and everyone still got a 75. have fun.
Judges you very early on and is near impossible to let go. He'll either be incredibly condescending to everything you have to say or do even if contradicts himself. Loves to play devil's advocate.
Teaches current events. Homework is useful and worth it. Hard grader. Impossible to earn 85+ in his class. Participate, and you'll earn a high grade. Tests barely matter. Very respectful.
He's a really bad teacher. Comes late to class every single day, then has no time to teach. Then he wonders why we all get 70s. And no one gets a 90 or even an A on an essay. 85s and straight B's.
We love mr. johnny! i love ur lessons sooooooo much! i'm in love with U!!!!!
He does not teach. He justs give notes, worksheets, and do nows, but when it comes to the actually lesson he talkes about something thats is absolutely off topic.
He's actually one of Tech teachers who care for you as a person. He gives advice and always wants the best for you. Sometimes he can be a little mean but overall he just wants you to learn.
He will constantly talk about several things - 1) Summer school 2) Your possible failure 3) How he supports Bush 4) How he likes to play devil's advocate and 4) Recommendations. But anyway, the 100% way of getting a good grade in his class (meaning 90, cause he barely gives anything higher than that.. in fact, never) is by participating. That is THE only way.
Looking back at my years at Tech, Mr. Anderson is one of two teachers who had a HUGE impact one me. I couldn't stand him while I was there (I had him THREE times over 3 years), but I appreciate the lessons he tried to teach so much now. He is one of the few teachers who teach you how to THINK instead of how to memorize material. Appreciate it now, because his teaching style will help you through college and life.
he always wanders off topic and starts arguing. Its just annoying. Its a class, teach something!! like never finishes a lesson. He puts notes up on the board but like never actually teaches it
good teacher and very caring. he looks beyond the stupid textbook and tries to make you think outside the box. Insted of making you read the chapter he makes you know thing. i love him. wonderful person, amazing man. listened to me through everything, he was so easy to talk to. helped me through my problems and i learned a lot from his class. GREAT GREAT GREAT TEACHER. i will never, EVER, forget all he has done for me
In general his class is simple. Just do what you have to do, and you'll get a good grade. missing homework, specifically, isnt recommended. Has some fascinating class discussions!
Just get to know his dislikes and his likes. His methods are unorthodox, and it is hard to pass by just sitting and memorizing what is on the board.
He's a great teacher and I love his notes. Class discussions with him are great. When you say one thing, he'll quickly go and argue for the other side just to make you think.
I got him 6th pd,half of you guys fall into the mindset that tech seems to put you into and you cant think on your own. you simply take info and spit it back out on a test. That isnt true learnin. So when he opens the class up to discussion ur screwed.
I love his teaching style. I have learned so much and i think i want to retake his class, it was that fun. His tests are like a questionaire, very easy
Excellent Economics teacher knows a lot & actually teaches. Cares about the students, gave a thorough review for the American Regents; goodluck Mr Anderson.
30 minutes late each day... easy tests, if you watch CNN... doesnt cover material on tests, very freindly and nice guy though
I have him period 2... always 10 to 30 minutes late. I get high test grades cause CNN teaches better economics than him
how come im told im wrong when its an opinion question?
We are here because of you Mr. Anderson. To take from you what you have tried to take from us.
notice a trend anyone? all social studies / global teachers cant teach.... sad, but true
Hes a good teacher compared to his colleagues. His tests are annoying because he tests you on the most trivial things which is a tad annoying.
very easy to fail his tests and quizes because he doesnt teach.. and all he likes to do is argue with you on why your opinion is wrong.
funny guy, but his insults are a little extreme. he needs to remember that he's the teacher and not a student. hard tests and quizes with no prep
isn't a good teacher. he barely teaches, just group work.
listen, the guy argues devils advocate all the time to get everone to think yes it may be annoying but its good to see the other points of view. great teacher.
Mr. Anderson, so great of you to join us in this.......place.
too much hw, sometimes 2 due the same day, and never clear on when hw's are due. If he wants to give essays he should give a break from the text book...
I THINK THAT HE IS A GREAT TEACHER AND I ADMIRE HIM BECAUSE IF HE FEELS A STUDENT GOING ASTRAY HE WILL DEFINITELY ENCOURAGE THEM TO DO BETTER.
He dosen't teach much. He'l just give you work and he'll expect you to do it even though its somthing we didn't even go over in class.
he has got to be the most ignorant man on this planet. He knows absolutely nothing and he can never admit when he's wrong.
Hes cool, really nice guy, though hard to get a good grade because its hard to follow his classwork.
he'd be pretty useful for the debate team..as for economics, im not so sure..he argues A LOT with us
i hate the way he disagrees with everything we say, but he isnt all that bad..what do u expect from a the social studies dept at Tech? they have issues
This dude thinks he's the best thing since sliced bread. If you have a different viewpoint than he does, prepare for him to come down on you hard.
Yo, the only thing wrong w/ you, is yo tests. Dude...give us a break. You would be a cool teacher only if you lay off tests and came to class on time. Got it?
The goofiest teacher i had since freshmen year. I like how he is late everyday, which shows how much you care. 80 is the usual grade.
u miss homeworks, come late every single day, and get an 80. ur always ontime, do all the hw, answer every question correctly, u get an 85.
you can't really fail or get a good grade...only differs by 5 points.
He hasn't return any of our quizzes and theres no test scheduled. I wonder how he'll determine grades. His quizzes are not easy. Hes an alright teacher, atleast gives notes.
He seems alright, just do the work, and you should get a good grade
Barely teacher, doesn't really count tests or homework towards grade, EASY.
no aim no outline are we suppose to teach ourselves?
very easy class. but he cant teach. when the regents come you will know nothing.
he's a good teacher but his tests are waaay too hard
His tests are impossible! his grade is the lowest one i have!
His tests are too hard. He could be interesting sometimes. Not the best teacher
Intelligent teacher, somtimes funny, poor grading policy, lazy, AVOID
he's nice! he's really good with grading and he has good opinions on things
Although a very smart person, a horrible and untrustworthy teacher
Horrible teacher. Very unclear and late frequently. Never hands back tests.
Acts lenient in class, but is a tough grader with no basis.
his tests are hard, but he's interesting and VERY nice
Very distracted, and does not teach lessons correctly
