I graduated from Radford in 1968, was a lousy student, but a very good trumpet player. Mr. Jordan encouraged me beyond the atta boy and pats on the back, submitted my as a candidate for the first annual McDonald's All American Marching Band for which I was selected as the representative from Hawaii.
If not for Mr. Jordan's recognition that perhaps I had something, I no doubt would have had a far more different path in life. My career was in music and very successful. Thank you Mr Jordan
I was in the Radford High school band from 1981-82 (I think that was Mr. Jordan's last year). He'd been a band teacher for the school since before my uncle was a Radford student. Back in 1962, Mr. Jordan was in charge of the entire music program (including choir classes).
If you liked Don Rickles then you liked Mr. Jordan. He was one of those teachers that you either liked him or hated him.
