Had him as a sub when he came back in 2015. Overall he is an amazing teacher who really cares about his students. He really helped me learn algebra.

John Thaler has a gift - and that gift is to teach. Understands his students as unique individuals and truly cares about their success. He will do everything within his power to help a student learn the subject matter. Engaging, entertaining, and humble. Truly a good man.

Very difficult class, yet funny and enjoyable. Most knowledgeable teacher in the subject at Calvert Hall. Even if you cant follow the class it is not impossible to pass the class.

This man makes the tuition worth it! His teaching caters to the student first, subject secondly. I had him for AlgII and it was awesome! Learned alot, learned it quickly, effectively, and in a fun fashion. His sense of humor is brilliant and he's one of the greatest minds in that building. Other teachers might just learn a thing or two from him...

His class was difficult if you didn't put time into it but as far as a teacher and person, he was amazing. I was having a lot of problems with going into algebra II and he took the time to help me out every morning despite him not even being my teacher!

I am in college now but I still remember how awesome Mr. Thaler was and still is. He will help ANYONE with math and loves doing it. Great teacher and role model.

Hilarious, fun, and a great teacher. Thaler's Honors Algebra II is probably among the best math courses in the country. He even makes calculus fun!
