The best of the best. The only teacher to make a lasting impact on lives of thousands.
He is strict but fun. He will expect your personal best and has little tolerance for mediocrity. This is a good thing and prepares you for life.
Jonathan Searfoss was the BEST teach I have ever had. Yes, he is difficult to deal with at times however so is everyone else in life. If there was a teacher that prepared me for life it would be him. He accepted nothing less than your absolute best. Not only was he a musical genius but he inspired so many students including myself to excel to be the best. You would be lucky to have a teacher as amazing as him.
As a professional opera singer working in one of the largest opera houses in Europe, I must say that Jonathan was one of the most influential people in my musical maturation. While I worked with him in instrumental music, he kindly offered help with my VOCALS in a school music. That moment reigns most important to me because he gave me solid and sound advice to sing my truly to my own abilities and not to mimic what I could be. Those who complain were simply poor musicians, period.
Searfoss was a terrible teacher. He cursed, screamed at kids and called them names. He is a narcissistic little man who only cares about winning tournaments. He bullied children to try to encourage them to be better. I saw him shove a kid up a field while kicking his hat and belittle a shy girl to the point of uncontrollable tears. He told two tall girls the terrorists should have blown them up instead of the WTC (in 2001). He's one of the worst teachers I ever had.
By far the best teacher I've ever had. Works hard and expects hard work in return. Great teacher, great mentor, great musician.
I had Mr. S over 10 years ago, but I can easily say that he was one of the best teachers I've ever had. And that's saying something, since I've been through grad school. He taught me how to work har
Mr.S is like one of the most knowledgeable men I've met. He helped me so much. You guys who say he's mean, maybe its the student who ticks him off so he sets them straight. Don't be wrong be right.
Mr.S is a bit mean, but only when you act stupid. He pushes your buttons to get something out of you. He strives for the best and thats it. Although it's my senior year and its sucking, he helps us.
one of the beat teachers in the school!! I learned soo much about music from him. When it comes to music he knows what he's talking about. He's in it to win so if ur not get out.
Best teacher I've ever had...strives for excellence and makes those around him do better in every way. People who dislike him simply don't appreciate his constant dedication...Overall great guy.
Mr. Searfoss is the most intellectual and influential teacher I will ever have. He carries a spirit and love for music into the class room, and if you just do what he says, you will succeed.
S is the man. he knows how to win, and he'll do anything to get there. good guy at heart.
Searfoss is good with accordance to Cherokee! In ways he's better than DeVivo (of PV), the only thing is he needs to push everyone not only his favorites.
Hes awesome, he just wants the best from you.He wants his band to be the best they can be which is awesome. He has more respect for u if your in marching band
Mr. Searfoss expects the best from you. If he knows you can do better he'll ge angry. He has made so many students better than they ever thought they could be
S is my all-time favorite teacher! Yes, he can be a little strict sometimes, but he defiantely prepared me for my college career. I love this man!!!
