Sr. Ancona is a good teacher, he's really funny and chill but sometimes you have to teach yourself stuff because he doesn't really explain it that much. But, if you ever need help understanding anything you can just ask him individually and he's really nice about it. There's pretty much no homework ever other than studying, so that's cool. He's also super funny and if you have a good group of people in your class it can be so much fun. He's definitely the best freshman Spanish teacher.
Great guy! Everyday you just do book work and volunteer for participation points. Can get quite boring and repetitive, but it's an easy A. Just participate a lot and get a bunch of extra credit. Depending on the class level, his tests can be really easy or really hard. He won't give credit for forgetting accents or forgetting to put a period on a sentence. Ancona is chill though. He always gave my class food. He's the type of teacher that no one hates or loves. He's kinda neutral.
Only uses the textbook everyday.
Fluent in Spanish, but maybe not a great teacher. His class teaches you, but it's in the most boring and bland manner. Better than Mr. Burke by 50,000X though.
One of the best teachers of my high school experience. Brilliant educator. He's up there with Bodnar and Chamberlain.
He was an amazing teacher! Best Spanish teacher at Claremont High School in my opinion. He's very helpful and really smart!!
Best Spanish teacher I've ever had. Quite frankly, the most impressionable thing he's ever done for me was this... He has a somewhat strict no-English policy. I had a question and he tried explaining it to me several times in Spanish, but I just couldn't grasp it. He broke his rule and explained it to me in English, and I understood it immediately. When a teacher will break their rules to help a student, I'm instantly in love. He's also ridiculously funny, but it's super low-key.
I can't really speak spanish, but in this class, you only need to good with grammar, which is disappointing. If you participate A LOT, getting an A will be no trouble. Nice guy though.
just do your work, and study your vocab and you'll do fine.
The high participation necessary for a good grade prepare you for the AP oral section. If you actually do all the hw and study for the weekly quizzes, you get the grade you want, class and AP-wise.
I have him for Spanish 4, and hes a very good teacher. I can see my vocab increasing and as a native speaker he understands what kind of problems you are going through Great Teacher Pd. 4 Aviles!!

I learned a lot in his class, even though it was hard. He's a good teacher and is pretty funny.
cool guy but cant teach. Hes the reason i didnt take AP spanish. He shouldnt teach ne thin above spanish 2, bc he doesnt actually teach ne thing.
he's definitely a cool teacher. i know i'm going to miss having him when i dont take spanish anymore next year!
he's a really nice teacher.. sometimes things get confusing.. but I still liked the class.. more pesos por favor!!
I'm feelin' Mr. A. Had him for three years. His classes are simple, and he makes sure you understand what he's talking about. No reason to be afraid to ask questions or anything. Of course, I'm sure his class is all-the-more enjoyable because of the uniqu
cool guy. i like his choice of cars but sometimes i think the really smart kids know more than he does... but he's still tight
He makes a really cool Dracula! And I like his fly-swatter game.
