She made life harder than it needed to be. I really didn't appreciate how condescending and rude she would be to the students, and she was so much harsher than was necessary. She forced her opinions on us and had us use "xe" for a pronoun. She says that she is preparing us for college, but there are better ways to do that. Not a fan!
I didn't like Ms. Klinger at first on a superficial level, but I realized that deep down she really just wants success for her students. I graduated AHS four years ago and I still think fondly about the English class I had with her. She lets students get a good education and prepares them for the next step toward college.
Overall, I have enjoyed having Ms. Klinger as an AP English 4 teacher. There is no doubt she works hard and she is a very smart woman. Her grading system is hard, and she will give F's if she finds errors in your essay. However, the error(s) itself are generally large. I have had some problems when asking her about my grade, yet I do not want my problems to overshadow that I appreciate her teaching style. I love our class and group discussions. She gives reasonable essay grades overall.
She is a really hard teacher, that has an unreasonably difficult grading rubric. Get out if you can. Very mean and gives useless homework.
Very smart woman. Can be kind and interesting if you take the time to know her, but this class is far from a fun time. If you can get out, do so, if you can't then make the best of it by getting on her good side (TALK TO HER AFTER CLASS= good grades) and just do the work. She will take every minute of your free time though, expect that.
She's either okay, or completely unreasonable to some of my classmates. I'm on the unreasonable side.
She has no solid grading rubric. I can tell you that if you make careless mistakes and ignore the minor instructions you can be guaranteed a D or F, no excuses If you get her but don't like English, get out ASAP. I'm struggling to get a C for college. She may be a nice person, but cannot be a teacher. Here's one quote from her: "following directions is important in life, that's why i'm a stickler to them". Don't expect her to compromise whatsoever, even though compromising is also a life skill.
Had her for English senior year. I actually enjoyed her class, but I can understand some of the reviews here. She expects her students to work, and is definitely a hard grader. She also is very specific with her instructions so read her prompts carefully (I remember sometimes you'd get an automatic D if you don't follow one, like writing in pen). She is nice though, has a sense of humor, and is knowledgeable and helpful. Don't take her if you're not a proactive student.
she's an okay teacher. i had her for freshman English (about 10years ago). the year was tough because it's not my subject and she required a lot of writing. anyway, i did passed the class
I CANT STAND HER! she always thinks shes right just cuz shes the teacher and shes not!
She isn't very understanding at times, and can be a little strict. And like most english teachers, she is quite arrogant, for a reason though, because he knows her stuff
Kicked me out of my editor position for the yearbook for being absent first two days of school because of a funeral, even though it was excused.
she's a good teacher she knows her stuff but she's strict with her work you just gotta do your work, study, you cant slack off with her she's hard but very good.
she's pretty good...she knows what she's doing... kida strict though....
you guys are trippin, ms. klinger teaches good, you guys just don't know how to learn
Man, i hate her grading system. For all those sophmores, do not take this class. She cant teach. She should go back to being a lawyer.
