She chooses to spend most of class checking to see if students did the hw - why is that even necessary, turning hw in would save time and make more sense. She can be a good teacher if you ask questions, but she doesn't actually help with lessons until you ask. Tests are either difficult, or extremely easy. Her class was not my favorite.

this is the one class where a minute feels like an hour. spent half the class just checking if we did the homework. not going over answers- just walking around checking if you DID it (she can't tell anyways). she doesn't give us the answers to homework? she asks us which problems we "didn't understand" and we go over them together but what if we thought we got it but did it totally wrong? tests are sometimes very hard sometimes very easy. if you ask for help outside of class she is very helpful.

She teaches straight out of the book, and the students have to end up learning the material completely on their own. She does not seem to understand what she is teaching, and is really unorganized as well. She seems like a nice person, but a horrible teacher.

she is a worthless excuse for a teacher and human being. she's passive aggressive and ambiguous about answering questions and has no knowledge of how to teach. her boring voice drones on each day about how learning is more important than grades...why are tests 90% of our grade then? horrible teacher, drop her class or drop out of school.

One of the worst teachers you will ever get. She spends half of class checking homework, and the other half reviewing ONE homework problem. She does not give you notes, answers to homework, practice worksheets so good luck if you're in her class. (tests are 90% of your grade). She does not teach, review, she does nothing.

She needs to understand that grades are important, and despite her saying learning is more important than grades, she barely teaches at all. I had to spend so much time studying for the quiz and units like the Ferris Wheel were especially difficult when she never taught us.

She spent the first half of the year simply going over hw in class, and the second semester attempting to teach. She constantly makes simple, careless mistakes, which students must always point out to her. It is true that she wastes class times telling pointless stories about her life. It is very obvious that she does not know the material at all, and students often have to teach it to her. If you get her, be prepared to learn nothing at all.

Ms. Strauss can be an excellent teacher if you allow her to be. Class time can get frustrating simply because of her lack of class control, but if you take the time to meet with her outside of class (which she is ALWAYS available and willing to help), you can get so much more out of your experience with her, and it will be an easy A in trig honors! She was so friendly and understanding, and it upset me to see how much others complain about her.

Wow. Where do I even begin. Strauss has taught me EXCELLENT self-studying skills since she is top-notch at teaching absolutely nothing at all. Because of her, I have witnessed first-hand the inefficiencies of our education system and am MUCH more knowledgable about them. I have also acquired the invaluable skill of pretending to pay attention in class and enduring long periods of insufferable boredom. She is truly an inspiration by inspiring us all to skip geometry so we can avoid having her! :)

Ms. Strauss gets a lot of hate-most of it is unjustified. Sure, we don't get as much done in class as we could, but she's making sure everyone understands the concepts. Ms. Strauss is genuinely one of the nicest people I have every met-truly cares about her students and is always available for help. When I failed a test because of personal issues, she decided to drop the test because she knew I understood the material.Take the time to get her because she's a fascinating and friendly person!

My daughter was in her class. She is now terrified when signing up for classes. She is so afraid that she will get a teacher as bad as Ms. Strauss. She has been having mental breakdowns this entire summer worrying about her teachers for next year. My daughter is so young and very smart and I hate to see her like this. Teachers like Ms. Strauss should not be teaching. FYI, my daughter did receive an A in her class.

despite the other scathing reviews of her, I think that she is a nice person. I had her for Geo honors and I got an easy A each semester. All I did was ask her questions, that is all. You have to bother to take the class seriously if you want to succeed. On the other hand, she isn't very inquisitive when looking at homework, so that if you don't know the material and you don't ask a question, you won't learn it.

Honestly, the people who have less than an A never go out of their way to ask her questions. Her tests clearly cover what she says in class, which means those who are struggling just wont ask for help. If you don't get something: just ask. Don't scapegoat.
