Dr. Speyer is obviously very smart and loves chemistry, but I found it really hard to learn in her class. She was not very good at explaining and didn't really have control of the class. That said, she's a really nice person and you can tell she cares about what she's doing.

Great teacher, super fun class (AP), and really knows her material very well. However she's not always the best at explaining certain concepts. But listen, read more about it, ask questions, and like any good student you'll do great! Thanks DSPY!

Nice, but not the best at explaining challenging concepts. YouTube and my textbook helped me do well in this class.

Although I can tell that Ms. Speyer is very knowledgeable...she really is not a good teacher. I don't like her teaching style at all, and I can tell that many people in my class do not like it either. She has no idea how to effectively explain even the most basic parts of chemistry...(she had the majority of the class confused on Hess's Law which is actually pretty easy to do...I saw a youtube video on it). I have had to learn to rely on youtube videos for explanations because she cannot teach.

Dr. Speyer was amazing when she was my teacher - she was so helpful in class and whenever I asked a question she could easily explain it again in a different way so I could understand. I'm so lucky to have had a teacher like her.

Dr Speyer is absolutely fantastic. Her teaching can often be a little confusing, but she'll help you as much as she possibly can. She stays late and will work with you as much as you need. Teaching aside, Dr Speyer is really really nice and funny and although (extremely) spacey, a very very cool person. She'll write recommendations for anything you need. Don't fall behind in AP Chem! Its a pain to make up and you'll miss so much.

People need to stop hating. She is an AP Chem teacher, so of course she moves fast! But she explains things if you ask her to, and she truly loves chemistry. Not to be compared to Ms. Murphy, but still, real nice.

as a person she is nice, funny and interesting, as a teacher.... she does not have control of the class. Whenever I would go for help she would explain everything the same exact way. Her class is very very hard if chem. does not come naturally to you. I had a lot of trouble learning in her class. However she grades very easy.

Dr. Speyer is a really outstanding teacher. She makes chemistry class really interactive and rich in disscusion. She dervies many of the formulas we learn from scratch so you really know what your getting out of the equation. She really makes learning really easy, and a tiny bit of effort goes a long way.

Dude, she is the nicest teacher ever and goes out of her way to make sure everything she explains is clear and easy to understand. I learned more in her chemistry class than in any other science class I've ever taken. And seriously, considering the pains she took to explain things, you kind of had to be willfully stupid or completely not paying attention in order to be confused.

she has a Ph.D in chemistry, but she can't teach that well. we never accomplish anything, and we've just started to actually learn chemistry now that it's october. also, her explanations just confuse us more.
