As a generally crappy science and math student, Ms. Barker made AP Physics understandable, and was there after class and would explain things and teach clearly and understandably.
Ms. Barker cares about how her students perform but if you need help, you're going to have to seek it out yourself. Her lessons (and the material) may be confusing but she tries to clarify it so you understand. Labs can be difficult, but the tests are relatively easy.
Definitely one of the worst teachers I've had at this school. Teaching alone you don't learn much; you have to take the time out of your life to at least do decent in the class
If you aren't a math person, physics probably isn't going to be your strongsuit. I took both AP Physics B and C with her and it is definitely doable. It takes effort but she is a very good teacher and will gladly help you if you stop by after class. The tests are pretty easy, just rehashed homework problems. What makes the class difficult is the labs. She is a stickler when it comes to grading them, so don't expect to breeze through them. The class takes effort, but I found it was worth it
The class was hard, but if you made the time to come in for help, she was always willing to help and taught what you missed the first time! Also she will love you if on days of test review you actually come in with questions! I loved the class
Literally THE BEST TEACHER at this RATCHET place. Ms. Barker knows how to teach and is sooo knowledgeable about Physics. She is always helpful and will not make you feel stupid. Even though she might seem weird, she is such a nice person and you actually LEARN in that class rather than bs'ing material. Such a great teacher. I love her!!!!!
As long as you try hard and do your homework, you should do well in Ms. Barker's class. She gives plenty of opportunity for help and tries to integrate technology into the classroom. She is a nice, unique person. Even if you do not like her at first, she will grow on you.
Tough teacher but really helpful and fair. She really knows and cares about what she teaches. Her tests are difficult but reasonable. If you study and do the homework every night you will do fine.
Ms. Barker is a good person, no doubt, but she should not be teaching high school kids. Physics is a really hard subject area to teach, but she really does not try to teach kids the concepts, and when
Her lectures are hard to stay awake in, but she does her best to make it interesting. READ AND TAKE NOTES ON THE CHAPTER! Do Lab Edits! Do all of the homework. If you do this, you will get at least A-
her classes are easy as long as you do not fall asleep in her class and pay attention to the lecture. the tests are very straight forward and doing well on the test will guarantee a good AP score
She's actually a really cool person once you get to know her, so just give her a chance to get to know you...and make sure she likes you. Do the lab edits and the homework and the class will be a breeze (I took AP B)
Mrs Barker is a wonderful teacher-a lot of kids who struggle in her class or disagree with her policies tend to be on the wrong foot with her, but she's always willing to help you succeed-and that's what a good teacher does. Mrs. Barker does her best to try and make physics fun and interesting so that it still makes sense for all of her students.
She's a nice teacher. But she's not in school a lot, but when she is, she's nice and helpful.
Ms. Barker is by no means an easy teacher, but she is a good teacher. She is willing to meet with you after class, and her course will prepare you for the rigors of college science
ahh shes hard. its the only class i actually have to work hard in....but she is nice and very helpful
EXTREMLY hard! like everyone else has said... DROP THE CLASS!!
