She emphasizes a lot on the reading. Her reading quizzes are detailed, and you must have done the reading in order to score well. Super helpful about the research paper. Her out-of-school activities are fun. Great teacher!!!

If you want to be on her good side, be as culturally diverse and nice as possible. She will love you and she will exempt you from things she wouldn't do for others. Also, she will be a bit too passionate when reading, but overall she's a good teacher.

Ms. Goler is probably the best English teacher I've ever had. She's very intelligent and is def always looking out for your best interest. You're so lucky if you get her. I got to know her really well and she is one of the kindest people. She is a great mentor and gives really good advice, so build a good relationship with her! The only thing that is annoying is she makes you annotate books ALL YEAR and it builds up so that you're stuck annotating 200 pages in one night.

She went to Duke, which has one of the highest rated humanity programs in the country. I say this to ensure you that she is smart, despite how she may appear at times. Ms. Goler is very fair and will treat you with respect as long as you do the same for her. She does pick favorites, but how much she likes you has no effect on how she grades you.

Best class to have as honors!! She may seem strict at first, but she really does grow on you. I actually liked her, despite what everyone said. She doesn't teach too well though, so if you aren't good at English in the first place, you will have a bit of a hard time. Her classes feel like family though-everyone gets close to each other :)

She starts out nice, but if you aren't religious, good luck. She has favorites from the beginning, and unfortunately makes snap decisions and says really stupid or mean things.

Ms. Goler's class is easy & not much work, but she can be a pain. The extra credit's a good excuse to go out on the weekend, but you'll walk away not remembering much. She likes food though..

Ethnic literature was probably one of the best classes I ever took in high school. Miss. Goler taught our class so much more than what you would learn in a regular English class. In fact, she opened her students up to discussions about things we encounter in real life, such as race relations, religion, and tolerance through the literature that we read in class. Although she may not be the most traditional type of teacher, Julie Goler is definitely an asset to the Beverly Hills HS English dpartment.
