mrs. stonehill was actually a really good teacher despite some of the comments. I had her this year and i was surprised with how interested she is in her classes. She brought us snacks for short days, took us out to cabots for a goodbye lunch. She even baked for us or picked up food if we all pitched in. it was really good to have such an amazing teacher for my last year at south and you guys are lucky if you have her!!!
Im a senior and there were way to many essays, basicly the only class I had to try in during slump.
Do NOT take her class senior year! Way too much homework and classwork. You will have to read two books at once and write essays, journal entries and more! More work than my first 3 years of english!
Not a good freshman English teacher. She gives too much homework, long and hard tests, and we don't learn a thing. She is too opinionated on her own view and is the worst teacher I have ever had.
She is a great teacher! I had her for C1 Senior English 1st semester and she was sooo helpful in editing my college essay. Really fun and easy going kind of person. I didn't really like the books we read, but that isn't her fault really. Great person overall and I will miss having her.
i take her writing for success class SO BORING..im considering dropping out havent learned a thing
Agreed. My only flaw with her, is that she is too opiniated on her veiw on things. It also wouldn't hurt to give seniors no homework as well.
i like her, i like class discussions, i like what she has to say and her point o view on things, but she's the WORST to have for a senior. TOO MUCH WORK!!!!!! wayyyy too much work for the last 3 weeks of school.... ahhh!!
give her a break, she's a nice person. class discussions are good
she only teaches seniors, but she does not understand them at all. she doesnt except any work late. did she not realize what slump means? or even college apps? no, not really
She's like a tyrant. She's obsessed with cheating and honesty and she speaks like an aerobics instructor. She doesn't really know what a good discussion is either.
if you don't understand something, her attitude is that if she understands it then its fine. she gives too much work for a senior class and needs to understand the meaning of slump
Her expectations are always clear and she gives a lot of timr to her studnets. Good class discussions on the books we read.
from 3 yrs in her class i know that u learn nothing. all i learned was how to pretend i read books. shes just not intelligent enough to run a class at south
Not very helpful. Expects more from you than she says she does in class. She really needs to relax in class. (moody)
Not easy, but she's a great teacher. Very nice lady, she has a lot of class, even though ive grad. i still see her sometimes, always smiling
I LOVE MRS. STONEHILL!! WHAT A SWEETHEART! She helped me with my college essay, joked around in class, we read Hamlet and she kept all discussions lively.
Helpful. Wants to make class enjoyable for kids. Takes awhile to get things back sometimes.
Compared to other South English teachers, she's pretty bad. Especially facilitating meaningful discussion.
I don't like her. She doesn't teach us how to write better. She just assumes we'll teach ourselves. She is moody and condescending.
SUCH A SWEET PERSON, but if you dont do your work she will not respect you.
I think Ms. Stonehill is a good teacher, shes still young and knows whats going on
She takes forever to get papers and assignments back, but she keeps class discussions of literature interesting. The only thing to really watch out for are the group activities (i think she's just buying herself paper grading time).
