Ms.Au's class is very peculiar. She uses a teaching method called standards-based grading. Essentially, there are standards that you must pass, and for each standard, you have to get all of the answers right to get the standards, making her quizzes and exams particularly challenging. She also has a habit of roasting people, which for some (including me), is very enjoyable. A very knowledgeable teacher, and is a fine presenter of topics in general.
Ms. Au is one of the greatest teachers because she makes learning fun by roasting kids as she teaches!! even though her class is pretty hard, she gets less intimidating as the year goes on, you just have to be responsible (she won't seek you out, you have to go to her) and not do stupid stuff (like decide not to study for finals).
Bad teacher. Rude and impolite. Does not help kids. Have some favorite students and keep them close without helping others. I have heard students complain about her partiality and behavior. Lot of students below are saying good things as they are scared of her.
She is not a good teacher who helps student learn and develop Math skills. She only tries to get accolades by standing next to kids who can do math. Pathetic teaching style.
The best teacher ever
At first I had a really hard time in her class and seriously considered switching to another teacher. If you're an average math student like me, you will struggle with her as your teacher.
Ms. Au is a really nice person and a pretty good teacher. But her class is super hard. She gives constant quizzes that force you to study every night. The only reason I got a good grade was because i got so much help. she curves her quizzes/tests a lot, but you must put in lots of effort if you want an a.
Ms. Au is a really great teacher overall and can be really funny. I had her for geometry freshman year and her class was a TON of work. Often I have no idea how to do some of the homework problems and we don't go over them until tomorrow. Also in her exams we often had to do proofs for things we never learned. Although she curves a lot I still felt like we spent too much time rushing through chapters rather than going over them.
Ms. Au is one of the best teachers I have ever had. She has carried me far and beyond in the math world, especially through math team.
The class itself is filled with quite advanced topics, and Ms. Au tends to extend many topics in the book for our enrichment. This was of great benefit to me, but may be daunting to others. Her tests tend to be quite difficult if you have not studied.
Thanks for everything! I miss you! :)
Ms. Au is one of my favorite teachers. I had her for Geometry and Trig BC. You have to get used to the way she teaches, though, because her style is a bit different from most people's. She gives you the grade she thinks you deserve.
I had Ms. Au for Trig BC. The class is very challenging, but Ms. Au is a fair grader in the sense that you will get the grade you deserve. I have an A now and I am glad to say I learned a lot and enjoyed the class. (PS she gets less intimidating!)
She is actually a pretty decent teacher. The start of the year was pretty hard, but then it eventually got easier to handle her class.
I love Ms. Au! I have never had such a great math teacher in my life. She knows her class is hard and she'll curve our tests and grades because of that. She is extremely funny and explains things extremely well. I've never had such a personable teacher before, and I'm really glad I'm in her class!
Ms. Au was my teacher for two years: Trig and PreCalc. She's honestly a sweetheart and I loved being able to go to her whenever I needed help after school. She really loves it when students take the initiative and go seek help when needed. She's a fair grader in the sense that she grades you based off the amount of work you put into the class. Overall, I loved Ms. Au.
ms au's so cool. she often really understands how students feel about school, or anything in general, really. and sure, her tests might be really hard, but for most of her classes, you don't actually get that grade. she gives you the grade she thinks you deserve (how hard you try, pay attention, etc) i often hear how it's easy to fall behind, but i mean, if you actually spent time after school, or after class--or even during--to ask her for help, she'll be glad to explain anything.
Ms.Au is so awesome! Her class notes are very clear. She takes time after class to help her students. I love her. Her trig class was very easy!
She's really nice, but sometimes she doesn't explain things very well. It's easy to fall behind if you don't pay attention.
I love Ms. Au. She gives hard POWs and finals, but she curves them. Her tests, on the other hand, are really hard and tend to be super long as well. Still, a good teacher and a fun person.
