She's really mean to students she just happens to dislike. Even as one of her "favorites" I couldn't stand her rampant favoritism. If you happen to be on her bad side, it will definitely affect your grade, which isn't fair at all. Seemed to ad-lib her lesson plans (did she even have lesson plans?) and made homework assignments up on the fly. Copying and memorizing ad nauseam isn't conducive to learning a second language at all. One of the worst teachers in HHS, period.
Mrs. Chu is extremely disliked by many students, with good reason too. As others have said, she is extremely strict and basically just teaches from the book. One time, my class found a translation mistake and she never realized until we had pointed it out for probably a little under than a week. But she is also extremely biased toward the "non-Asian" kids (I'm not one, but she's blatantly obvious about it)Not to mention her classes are based completely on her mood. There's no organization at all
Chu is very strict and tough. But her class does effectively teach chinese. She is a good person at heart but since she is so strict and gives massiev amounts of homework, pop quizzes, pop tests, kids don't like her.
If you work hard in the class though, you will learn Chinese.
She Can't teach, and should retire because she's pretty much going senile. She forgets half of our names and can't even remember assignments the next day.
she doesnt know what she is doing half the time. doesnt remember if she taught something or not. plays favs ALOT! its ridiculous. she makes you copy the book and doesnt explain the rules of the language well enough. i get so confused.
i think shes funny but she does tend to play favorites. bu shuo hua! lol class of 08 =]
No. Noo. Easy grade but she announces test scores to the class.. I'd take her class if I wanted to be say... a MONK copying entire books over and over.. And yeah.. she plays favorites. Heavily.
She tries hard. The only reason her class isn't great is because the students are at all different levels and draw her attention in all different directions.
Mrs. chu may be all easy and stuff and gives out an A. but the problem is that she has too much favoritism on certain students who do very well.
If you have enthusiasm and try you can learn a lot! mrs Chu is always willing to help out any of her students!
Yeah, she is ok. But once you are in Chinese 3 not fun anymore
Dude, this class will boost your GPA regardless if your are chinese or not.
