Vandy is great. She doesn't really teach us much-- leaves it more to the student teacher-- but she gives good feedback on essays and helps develop thoughts on novels. The only thing I don't like about the class is that I wish we would do more creative writing. She also really helped us with grammar in preparation for the ACTs.
Mrs. Vandegevel will tell you what you are doing wrong in the most direct way possible. She tries hard to get you motivated, but is rather accepting if you are 'just not in the mood' to be productive.
I should be writing an essay for her right now. Since she had her baby, she's been a lot more laid back (hard to believe). I like her because she knows how we think, and is flexible.
She is awesome...but will not tolerate rudeness , stupidity or laziness and will let you know that.
I thought she was a decent teacher. the only reason I didn't really learn is because I didn't really do anything. she is really cool and I wouldn't mind taking her class again.
I like Ms. Vandegevel as a person, though as a teacher she tends to be very unenthusiastic.
Kathy VG is most definitely cool. She is NOT a passionate teacher, but she is really laid back and friendly - very easy to relate to, and commical.
People who blast her with all ones are just jerks. She is the best english teacher in the world. She was smart and funny, and a good friend.
She loves her students deep down, even when she grumbles about having to come to school. She treats students as real people.
Ms. Vandegevel is probably the coolest English teacher I ever had at city. Rock on Ms. Vandegevel!
English wasn't my best subject, but I still learned and enjoyed her class
