She was very helpful. Ms. Miller didn't get mad when only one or two people did their homework toward the beginning of the year she simply tried to figure out why (I wasn't that one person). The class got easier toward the end of the year as there would be a lot of bonus points. She just wanted us to be prepared for high school.
Ms Miller was probably one of my favorite teachers. It's true that she does get mad at people sometimes, but always understandably so (when they can't retain anything we've learned in the past month). It took a bit of time to get used to her teaching style and the way she wants you to do things, but once you do and if you try hard enough, you'll do fine in her class. I loved doing her projects and the final project especially because it can be about anything, eben if it's not related to civics.
I cry when I come home because, she is such a great teacher.
Awesome. -A very disorganized student
Ms. Miller is very knowledgable in civics.
Ms Miller only wants the best for her students. She focuses on understanding the material instead of memorizing. Her quizzes and tests are easy if you understand the material.
Recently she has changed her teaching because people have not been doing their homework and trying to understand the material. She has switched to textbook reading and powerpoints, which she said in the beginning of the school year was inefficient. So please do the homework or she will switch to a boring lesson plan.
So, basically Mrs.Miller is one of the hardest classes you will ever take. To start the year she is terrifying and insanely hard to understand. Once you start to understand it and figure out what she really expects it makes a lot more sense. She is actually the most incredible teacher that you will ever have. She teaches you how to write, think, present everything-- Also time management because she assigned homework constantley. Do whatever you can to be in her class its worth it 1000%.
Tests weren't too hard as long as you payed attention. However, her grading is completely subjective. She can bring your test grade down just for not wording an answer the way she wanted you to. Her projects are interesting. She has good teaching philosophy but her personality is horrible. She is extremely rude, and discourages interested students if she doesn't like them by embarrassing them. Her favorites are SO obvious. She spends half the class yelling/rambling.
All Kanye Miller says is, "Seek understanding." She doesn't give you enough time to do any assignments and expects the best in very little time.
If you don't like Mrs. Miller, it's because you're not trying hard enough. All she wants is to prepare you all for high school, and she honestly tries too hard and gives us too many opportunities to start and try. Sure, she goes off on tangents, but she knows what she's talking about, and if you actually put in the work, it's a great class. It's true though, that you either love her or hate her, so just be smart enough to love her and her class.
She tells you to learn by yourself. She has nothing to teach other than marking up documents.
She can be a harsh teacher, but if you pay attention in class and follow directions on assignments, the class is really easy. The tests are pretty hard, but sometimes she gives out a lot of bonus points. For the tests I recommend listening in class, reviewing your mark ups and assignments. They really help. One of the best teachers I've had.
For some reason she doesn't want to make it fun for herself or her students. Gives confusing info and then makes you mark up a document. Talks too much and is easily frustrated.
Mrs. Miller was at first not my favorite teacher, but she was amazing. She really taught us so much and she wasn't a boring teacher that would shut you out but she opened up and she would always ask you questions during your presentations, make sure you marked up your papers, and overall was an amazing teacher because she never gave you an easy test she gave you a hard one so you would study and even if you didn't do well she could always help you understand and she never gave up on me.
Mrs. Miller is, so far, the absolute best teacher I have ever had. She is hard, yes. She is harsh, yes. She also got me interested in politics. She makes you work hard and understand the material instead of reading the information and memorising it. Her 'lectures' are intellectual discussions that try to involve everyone. She has not only taught me civics but how to deal and work with people who don't share my views on a topic. She's the only good teacher on Yagottawannas to be honest.
You either hate Miller or love her. I happen to love her. She's the teacher that makes Yagottawannas a bearable team. She's a pretty hard teacher, though. She has these open response tests on material we haven't even covered, but they're open note so I guess it's fair game. Ms. Miller is actually preparing you for high school, which is why she's so tough. We all have moments where we despise her, but in the end I've learned so much from her class. She's one of the most informative teachers @ lms
Why do you call everything "yelling" when you mean she disagrees or doesn't say you are right. I can not remember one time she actually yelled. She doesn't embarrass you in front of class, but if you got the answer wrong, you may be embarrassed. She just wants you to think, to ask good questions, and to grow. I saw one kid cry once, and I also saw Mrs. Miller go out of her way to make her him feel better. I also saw her cry once because she was so frustrated with students who won't try.
I love Ms.Miller but her tests are BULL S*IT... They are way to hard for what she is teaching. She teaches well but just over does the tests...
I love Mrs. Miller. At first, she comes off as demanding and likes embarrassing her students when they get answers wrong, but it's all for success. She inspired me to do my best and got me interested in politics. For the students that have her now, just know that everything she's doing is for your own academic and general achievement. If you want to do well in her class, then don't blame the difficulty level of the tests and study! Understand, not memorize.
She really wants us to understand. I like that. She really wants us to ask questions. That's important. This service clearly isn't used much any more except by someone who is mad, so it isn't much good but I wanted to say something good because this is just wrong. If you look back at the older ones when people used this alot she was ranked the highest. It is sad that kids are allowed to write such lies just because they are mad.
She is such a hard teacher, and her tests are IMPOSSIBLE! Especially her "open response" tests, which everyone fails, except for her favorite students who are so obvious.
Ms.Miller is different from every other teacher because she asks you to "open your brains" and think through problems, instead of letting you taking the easy way.She is amazingly inspiring, and I have learned more than just civics from her this year.
She has cussed in front of the class a number of times and screams at students if they don't follow her every word. I can see her being amazing if she were a professor but in middle school she makes you want to die every day
She picks very obvious favorites and has students she undeniably despises, she has caused several of my friends to cry in class. She yells at you and makes you feel insecure to answer questions and yells to when you don't answer. You cannot win.
Mrs. Miller is a wonderful teacher! She is very knowledgable and her classes are quite enjoyable. She really prepares you for high school and up.
i have her. she makes fun of kids in front of the class and her tests are impossible
I love Mrs. Miller! She was amusing, knowledgeable, and always available to offer help. I liked her re-writable essays, which definitely helped more than anything else in terms of high school prep. One of my favorite classes when I was in eighth grade. Her current students will appreciate the practice in a few years. It's a tough class - there's a reason we call her Killer Miller - but if you can't do it, why did you take honors again? She's a wonderful teacher. Anyone would be lucky to get her!
she is a bad middle school teacher. she is too strict on all of her students. i think she should be a profesor or seomthing. if you get something wrong she screams and calls you stupid. but at the same time she yells at students to participate! her essay is impossible and annoying. her tests are the most difficult things i have ever taken. hate her
she was the worst teacher i have ever had. It's easy to get an A if u do all the essays and get at least a B- or more on the tests/quizzes, cause the essays are like 90% of ur grade. She really has class favorites and CLEARLY, i repeat, CLEARLY hates some students. For the students she hates, she doesn't give them oppurtunities that other students have and criticizes every flaw that the student has. She embarrasses the student during project presentations. Her teaching is sometimes confusing too.
Disrespectful teacher. If your get a question in class wrong, she embarrasses and harasses you in front of the class. Its like when you raise your hand to answer a question your playing Russian roulette
Awesome teacher. Really funny when she's dealing with stupid students.
ehhhhhhhh she's ok....... but has a crazy obsession with essays
She's a really good teacher maybe slightly tough at first but easily the best civics teacher that I have ever had.
Ms. Miller is the best teacher I've ever had. I wish I could take her class every year, it was amazing. I learned more in her class than in any other. She cares more about learning than grades, and whether you do well in her class or not is really up to you. When I came to TJ I was more prepared than the majority of my classmates.
Ms.Miller is a pretty awesome teacher. She is tough at first but you'll get used to it. You'll definitively learn a lot from her.
I loved Mrs. Miller's class, it made sense! In my opinion, Mrs. Miller was one of the only teachers at Longfellow who prepared her students for high school. Mrs. Miller had interesting class conversations that clarified the topics. Mrs. Miller was one of my favorite teachers that I've ever had, even if you hate her now, you'll thank her later :)
She can be a little scary. And the class is HARD. Best thing about the class was the "We Didn't Start the Fire" project, but they CHANGED it >:(
It's not an easy class, but Mrs. Miller is a great teacher. She has a sense of humor and knows her stuff.
She's a great teacher, just a little tough. If you work hard in her class you'll have lots of fun!
Mrs Miller is the BEST!!! all of these people who are complaining are just lazy, and can't get their work done. I learned SO much! I miss you Mrs. Miller <3
Her class has a lot of work, but shes actually an amazing teacher.
I LOVE YOU MRS. MILLER!!!!!!!!!! that person below me is a liar :) okay. well mrs. miller is like the best teacher in the whole widest world. so yeah. :)
i love her so much! she is defnatle on eof the best teachers i have ever had. when she teaches, the information stiks in ur brain but her class is still really challenging.
good teacher, i learned alot but... MAJOR REPUBLICAN
she teaches us so much!! i actually love her class even if its really hard...
shes pretty strict, but she lets you redo things and catch up. shes a really good teacher altho sometimes you may just hate her :P
Its definately a difficult class, but I learned so much. Best history teacher I've ever had.
She is a the best teacher I have ever had. She cares a lot about her students and helps you learn how to communicate ideas. However, her class is tough, so you must internalize what she says.
kinda harsh. funny sorta. learn a lot. im the miss america of the year yay me :)
BEST TEACHER EVER, taught me life lessons more than history, but AMAZING jut try hard, you'll be happy, but don't pick Dwight D. Eisenhower for your prez essay, she hates him, makes history intrsting
shes quite a good teacher, if sometimes a bit harsh. you learn a lot though and its pretty helpful. i must say i hate marking up stuff.
Great teacher, never learned so much in my life. If you have this teacher, be ready, pay attention, and DO YOUR HOMEWORK. However, you always know your in for a fun year with MILLER THE KILLER
"use what you know to figure out what you don't" and "don't make stuff up" she interrupts answers like, define ______ [student she hates] the... *CUT OFF* "WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!" not easy but learned lots.
she really made me learn history and made me understand it!
One of the BEST teachers I have ever had. Really helpful, and her class is very challenging. I look forward to it every day.
Easily the best teacher ive ever had. The way her lectures work more like a intilectual conversation instead of a regular lecture. BEST TEACHER EVER! --Ian
The Best teacher in the world. Some people don't like her because she makes you think, but I love her and it. -Hugo
Great teacher, want to have her next year, so far at least...
I hated her at the beginning of the year, but then i started trying, and now i love her!
She is a very good teacher who makes you think about commections and fully understanding the material.
she is a pretty nice teacher even though sometimes she gets really mad and\or makes fn of me and some other people...she is still a pretty gud teacher
dude i wonder if she knows that every1 calls her miller the killer
our first test, it was on most things we never covered in class. yells at us GT students about how we suk at thinking.loud wistle, loud voice, bad teaching methods but gets work done. miller the killer
AWESOME!!! If you ever need help you can just stay after school and she'll help you on whatever you need! And she never gives you a worksheet to complete at home, your homework is researching events.
Aww I LOVE Mrs. Miller! She's such a mom sometimes though LOL. BEST TEACHER EVER!!! If you don't like her, though, it's your own fault.
Ms. Miller is a great teacher who really teaches you how to connect and how to use evidence when writing.
Best teacher in the WORLD!!!!!!! And if you ever need help on anything after 7th grade you can visit and ask and she'll be happy to help
