His teaching skills are a bit hard to follow. He often does things without thoroughly explaining them leaving you often lost. When it comes to his personality, he is a piece of work. He generally has a set group of favorite students that are pretty much exempt from all criticism, while the rest of the students never seem to catch a break, and when it comes time to review the study guide for a nine weeks exam, DO NOT GET A QUESTION WRONG, because he will yell at you for at least a minute straight
this man is the best and helps alot
I asked for help many times in his class, and did not receive any.
Mr. Hodge is excellent at teaching. He is highly knowledgeable and could help at any time. Lots of people dislike him but for the wrong reasons. He uses the textbook, but doesnt just simply give answers. You must work the problem in order to get rewarded. He often makes us all close our textbooks and he crops the answers out of the questions in the books. I am grateful for that, because without his way of teaching i would be WAY more lost in math then i am now.
Mr. Hodge is by far one of my favorite teachers at Crooms, seeing as he knows the subjects that he teaches really well. However, he's very irritable and will get irritated for the stupidest of reasons. He also lacks a sense of humor, and an understanding of sarcasm... but as far as being a teacher goes he's fantastic. Just... not the best guy to play around with.
Class lets get started.
He is very good at teaching EXTREMELY, but doesnt have a good personality to be working in a school. If you are there to just learn and focus you should be ok but anything else and your screwed
I love Hodge, he was the best math teacher you could ask for
Mr hodge is the kind of person that gets upset at students that answer questions wrong on a quiz on a chapter that he didn't teach in class...
Mr. Hodge is a teacher of order. He is very harsh, and often insults/punishes students over the smallest of offenses. He picks on a few specific students, and makes them rue the day.
At least he has the "generosity" to give make-up assignments to those who failed a homework assignment. But if you fail to turn in an assignment, a perfect zero befalls onto your gradebook, with no chance of redemption.
Being on of the students he picks on constantly, I never look forward to his class.
He had once stepped out of class to take a phone call because his Father was dying Which i completely understand. Someonoe was talking and he was in a bad mood because of his Father's health. He doesn't know how to leave his problems at the door and he is always screaming at someone even if they are doing nothing bad at all.
When the class doesnt understand anything, he gets mad and always says "we're talking". When we're clearly not talking.... He barely teaches anything but tells us to read the book and take notess...
Ok plain and simple. You miss homework he slays you. End of story, bye ,bye to you.
Let me just say this, if you have a problem with Mr. Hodge, odds are you did something stupid.
He's honestly not that bad of a teacher and knows a lot about what he's teaching and is pretty good at conveying the material. While he does tend to jump to conclusions, if you stay quiet, you should be okay.
Mr. Hodge was probably the BEST math teacher ive ever had. He may have not been the nicest teacher but when he wants you to learn, you are going to learn. The class isn't easy nor is he very negotiable or lenient with anything. but he is a great teacher and i walked out of his class with more knowledge than any other teacher
People make him seem worse than he really is. From my experience with him, he was a little more favorable towards the girls but the way he explained things just clicked for me and was able to easily get by in his class. I have heard that he can be really rude and disrespectful but I mainly stayed quiet and was fine in his class
I see a lot of people leaving really angry comments in here which are far from true. Easiest way to have a better time in his class is if you need help ask for it, show up during lunch and play cards or dominos and just make sure to turn in homework.
I think all these comments are from people that have never even had Mr.Hodge before.I personally think that Mr.Hodge is a great teacher, and I feel like he's been the best math teacher that I've ever had, and I learned quite a lot in his class
While being very knowledgeable, it is all for naught if you can't communicate your wisdom to others. That is the case with Mr. Hodge. His class is very strict, which would be good if it was filled with the type who need restriction but that was not the case. Everytime you made the slightest mistake he told you to pay attention and ask questions. That would be great if he would slow down and teach you at your own pace.
He grades the homework for correctness. While this may not be bad, you can do your homework and still fail every assignment.
yells way to much, and he sometimes gives us HW that we didnt even learn in class and then yells at us the next day for not doing it. P.S he is only nice to the girls in our class
He is alright but he could be better. He repeats himself WAY too much and he makes people feel stupid.
He is a great teacher but he is certainly not going to babysit you to an A. He is very to the point and wont beat around the bush when it comes to you being incompetent. People say he is mean, but if he is mean to you that means he likes you as a person and wants you to succed. He will push you and make you learn. Not doing homework in his class is a HUGE mistake
A really great teacher, he really gets you to understand why you're taking math. xD And he scares you into getting good grades, so I can thank him for not letting me fail Algebra. THANK YOU MR.HODGE! :DD
He really is the best math teacher i have ever had if not he comes very very close. he is excellent at his job and he obviously knows what he is doing. i like the way he deals with things. i dont always agree with him. but overall i like him alot as a teacher
Mr. Hodge is the best math teacher i have ever had. He taught me about math and about life. He is a very wise man and can explain one concept in more ways than most people could imagine even exist. He just doesnt like when people act like children in his class and are irrisposible. Can you blame him for that?
In the words of my ninth grade algebra teacher BAM TANK YOU MAM!!!!!!!
Mr. Hodge is cool! He is sometimes hard to understand, but once you are in his class for about a week or two, it gets fine. He is very easy, and very helpful. He's there anytime
You can't quite understand him but, overall he is an excellent teacher.
A student has to stand in his class, in slave labor, and the student proposed to him
You may not like him personally but he is an excellent teacher and I learned a lot in that class.
I like the different style of teaching he has. He doesn't treat you like a child unless you act like one. If you are on time you will learn more. BE ON TIME!!
is the most awsome understanding teacher (and his acents kool)
