Her tests are terrible, everyone sleeps in her class, she comes to class 20 minutes late, and she will kill your grades via her terrible testing format, and her unreliable teaching methods which have been proven horrendous.

Sobiek is very knowledgeable in math but her exams are really something else. If you have her for the first period she's late at least 3/5 days a week. On top of that takes her 10-15 minutes to set up until we can start class. She's nice and has a nice personality but as a teacher she should go easier on students.

Legit the worst teacher I have ever had. She goes way to fast and most of her students can't keep up. If you struggle with math, good luck.

miss sobieck has one of the most challenging classes i have ever seen. you will learn a lot if you pay attention, but many students don't take notes, don't do homework, or even listen to her. this results in a lot of bad grades, which then leads to bad reviews which she doesn't deserve. she is passionate, funny, and an overall great teacher, you just have to be willing to learn.

The worst teacher I've ever had. She teaches way too fast and makes this harder than they need to be. She does understand the information well, but is terrible at communicating it. If you're really good at math you'll probably be fine, but if it's something you struggle with, good luck. Asking questions will get you nowhere.

Ms. Sobieck teaches way too fast, and is very confusing. Asking questions in class wont help at all, and coming in during lunch for help is just a waste of time. She does not check homework, which some people take for granted, but because of this, a lot of people are failing the class. I had to go on Khan Academy almost every single day just to actually understand the things that she was teaching. Oh, and her "multiple choice" exams are way to hard.

She knows math, BUT doesn't know how to teach it! Asking her questions gets you nowhere. She makes everything harder than it should be. if the student tutors can make it understandable, why can't she?? Her tests are unfair, often throwing in concepts she did not cover. Very frustrating for students who want to learn!

If you have her, be prepared to take out your "BOOK-BOOK-BOOKAGES!!!" She's constantly late if you're in her first class of the day, but gets pissed if you're tardy. She also leaves class to go to the restroom, and on top of that wasted class time, she takes about 20 minutes every day (on top of being late) to turn on her computer, check her e-mail, and prepare for class. She doesn't know what the hell she's doing. Her favorite method of teaching is coping from the book.

Tips: copy down her notes or she won't help you, remember how to do the problems... her way. And she has lots of fill in the blank
She's really... 'emotional' and gets mad at things very easily
If you have her first period, she generally comes in 2 minutes late. She is rarely on time/early and will take 10 minutes getting ready.
Homework assignments: follow ALL the instructions for work or figures or else you'll get half credit
She talks to herself and inanimate objects.
Her tests are hard.

I don't even know what to say about her...and how she is not fired for doing very poorly to AHS fellow students. If I'm going to have to retake Geometry in Sophomore year, I would rage. Clearly, the class average explains everything and even reviews with teachers say that she's bad at teaching. The personality is okay, but then again the time consuming and grade just overall destroys her personality. Yeah, thanks for ruining my grades, GPA, and my future career.

Taking Sobieck right now. 1st semester was horrible. Class average with a D. Second semester, still horrible. Class average would be a D-C+; this is the grade of ALL of her classes actually, except Alg. 2 Honors. Just horrible grading skills.

She's not even that bad...she's just strict...and if you're failing it's because you're not paying attention in class or not doing your homework. if you really cared you'd be in at lunch asking her questions! her tests are hard but she explains it way better than other teachers

I had Ms. Sobieck in freshman year, as did my sister. My older sister had her for a tutor when she was in high school, and I must say, she has helped my family SO MUCH academically. I absolutely love her, and I was NOT one of her favorites. In her class, you need to stay on her good side, meaning don't goof off. Be respectful. At AHS, that is hard to find. Ever since, she has come to mean a great deal to my family, and I know I can go to her anytime for help. All you need to do is ask.

Ms.Sobieck is a brilliant woman who's most likely going to find her downfall due to an inability to connect on a familiar level with other people. She knows her stuff, and she is willing to help, but you can't expect her to come to you. You have to look that Pi shirt wearing dragon straight in the face and ask. She WILL help. She's eccentric. I know its a pain in the rear end, but fight through it, you will learn a lot from her.

Sobieck was probably the best teacher I have ever had. She teaches everything well and makes sure you get the concepts before moving on. Jokingly known for her craziness, she is funny and jokes around and knows how to make the class fun. Doesn't play favorites and makes you really enjoy math. Nice and kind to all in her class. Hands down, one of the best teachers in the world. That is a fact.
