Yes, her class is very hard, its an easy B, but you really have to work for an A. The only other complaint I have besides the fact that you don't actually know your grade and the grade of certain assignments in real time. She doesn't post them anywhere until the semester grade, where you finally see your letter grade. This makes me think if she actually keeps a grade book or just goes off the top of her head. Anyways, if your a good student who participates, you'll probably get an A.
She assigns 150 words for you to do a “graded practice” on. Instead of answering my classes questions she needed to get back to her “lesson plan” which was video montages of Guatemala and Puert Rico. If you ask her a question she’ll get eritated with you. She has no grading system. She doesn’t use our schools system and there’s no way for us to check our grades like we can in other classes.
Okay. Rivera. She is a good teacher at first. I had her for spanish 1-2 , and I liked the class. But in my 8th grade year, oh boy was i regretting taking spanish with her. So....her homework assigning is way over the limit. It's happened to me when I left the class to get to my next class and the next day, I found out that we had homework. I left early to get to my other class. What else? Instead of teaching us, she is always making us learn these weird nursery rhymes. Take her, itll help later.
Rivera doesn't have a grade book. Disorganized and messy. She has snack tutoring, but it doesn't help at all, because the classroom is always so noisy. She doesn't teach well, and often runs out of time to finish a lesson. She doesn't count homework assignments as a grade, only tests and quizzes. We only spent about a month or two on ALL indicative verb conjugations, and she leaves many of her students behind. She relies on her favorite students to grade her tests. tl;dr horrible teacher ಠ益ಠ
lol high school is just as hard as her class so middle schoolers, good luck...but atleast teachers at CV actually use a grading system and have a plan for what theyre going to teach. Just stick to the class and you'll be happy you did in high school when you're ahead of everyone else
Where do I begin? I know, let's start with DuoLingo. -_- She's asks that we do 30 minutes of DuoLingo each day. If she followed the rules and listened to our homework limit, then theoretically, that would be the only homework she'd be allowed to assign. I guess not. Her grading system doesn't make sense. If you want an A, then you have to be her favorite. It's as if her academic grade and citizenship grade overlap. Everything in her class seems last minute, and there is no structure.
she is literally the worst teacher in the world. we has a quiz today and she didnt explain very well on what we were tested on.. if you have her i feel so bad for you.
okay so i am no longer in rivera's class and even though her class was a nightmare (she gives wayyyyyy too much work and is completely unclear and just stressful) i can say that i did learn a lot in the class. and if im honest, high school classes especially spanish, are just as hard, so she really is just preparing everyone for high school. it sucked and i hated her class, but thats life. Participate alot and be on her good side, cuz otherwise youre basically screwed.
Really kind teacher. Always helps and covers everything very well. Also, you can come to Snack Tutoring. She gives HER Snack Period for YOU to learn! You can't get very better than that because learning a language is incredibly hard but Sra.Rivera makes it very easy!
She is really good for learning and exploring the language.
She was super nice and helped you a lot if you needed. The tests were hard however but you just have to figure her out. I liked her as a person and she taught spanish well, but she always made us do insane amounts of duolingo. This was the main bad point. I would recommend her if you really want to learn spanish, but if you just want your college requirements (me) then you should wait until high school.
Great teacher. If you don't have any appreciation for Spanish, you get a B, but if you want to learn, you will get an A. And she does keep a gradebook BTW.
she doesn't use a gradebook and cant do anything honestly
She was one of my best teachers because she really cared for her students. I had her for both years at middle school, and I had an amazing time learning spanish. She really tries to help her students and push you in right direction. Also, if you think she gives a lot of homework, you won't survive high school. I think she really helps in improve your writing skills and teaches in her own unique methods that is refreshing considering that all the the teachers in CV use the textbook.
Had her for Spanish 1-2. She gives a ton of homework and has a test every week. Her class was really hard. She's not extremely mean, but not the nicest. Also, she was always eating in class! She expects a lot and teaches confusing. I guess she was ok
She was one of the best teachers I ever had. Very, very nice. I think one of the best teachers in the school.
she is so mean and she always have mood swings. she always tries to act all nice one day and then the other day she gets frustrated over nothing. it is seriously getting really annoying.
mrs rivera is an ok teacher but when she teaches its is hard to understand. she can be strict at times but other than that she is pretty nice.
This is not just a Spanish class. It teaches you how to survive the future. The projects that she made us do and the homework that she gave us prepared me for high chool. She is by far the best teache
Decent Teacher. But really partial and holds grudges! Doesn't prepare for tests. Oh yes, and smiles, no matter what. Freak.
I... do not... like her... Once you're on her list, she'll hate you for the rest of the year. She's also extremely confusing.
I learned a lot and she's a sweetheart. If you have her for two years, the second year is the best.
i like her a lot..but my advice to her is that she gets ahead of herself. she says she will do things she never does. but she is so nice and i really enjoyed having her for 2 years
She doesn't prepare you that well for tests and quizzes and has favorites.
not the best teacher, but nice enough. helps if she favors u, (builder's club, etc.)
An excellent teacher who is an exceptional role model. She challenges students to give back to the community. Her LA Marathon work with the disabled is without parallel. Excellent!
She was hard but I learned a lot. She is a great teacher and person.
I had her for exploring spanish, she's nice. She gave me food all the time. It was cool
very good teacher! Hola, Como estas Uds? Quequiereshacer?
