As far as her teaching goes, she's ok. She has a great personality, is very nice, and has a good sense of humor. I liked her as a person but the way she ran the class was nothing special (and occasionally annoying/counterproductive). I enjoyed the class, but learned very little. Also, I had her for English II Honors; starting this year, she is teaching AP Lang as well, and from what I've heard it sucks. She has my regards, but I can't imagine her effectively teaching AP Lang.
Probably the worst experience I've had at Chiles. The 2nd semester was awful. We'd have no homework for weeks and then suddenly she'd tell ONE of her classes about a huge project and it's due date, but forget to tell the rest, and we'd find out like two days before it was due. Her classes would argue about due dates on Edmodo because she was so unorganized. If you were late with something, and it was HER fault, she didn't care. She let certain people get away with things, but not others.
The class seems to be less of an English class and more of an ethics/race relations class. A good portion of class time is spent studying specifically black authors and books regarding persecution and minority rights. This has it's time and place but I would prefer my child study grammar and/or literature during her English class. Additionally, she's unclear on due dates and her Edmodo page is perplexing. She'll post "This will be due on April 5th", but she put this up on 4/5 at 5pm? Confusing!
Super easy class... also very, very fun! Love Mrs. J a lot! :)
One of the most competent teachers I've ever had, and she loves her subject. She's so nice, too! :)
She is really nice and her class is cool and easy to understand
usually good personality, ocassional spats of fed up , very unclear at times.
