Ms Aboody is often late or absent with little explanation. Many subjects are barely touched upon in class and feature heavily on tests. A couple times, we were given new topics a few days before the test with the expectation that we would google them and teach ourselves the topics. She always goes off on irrelevant tangents and makes weird jokes. She's a nice person and is willing to help outside of class, but we don't have that free time, and if she could teach better that wouldn't be needed.
I had her as a math teacher and she is incapable of teaching. Not very productive and very slow class. Really wish I learned more
Knows most of what she teaches, and she is pretty easy. You must do your hw though, didn't do ti for a quarter and bam B+
I do super well in her class and she really likes me (which is the biggest plus because otherwise I definitely wouldn't feel the same way), but if anything she's just FRUSTRATING. babysitting isn't the best word, but I feel like I have to be the one checking up to make sure we're all set with my grades/other things. her jokes make it fun but it's hard when you don't end up going back to things you started (which happens all the time) and stuff like that.
She's nice enough and has a...weird sense of humor, but I personally didn't like her much. She doesn't explain some things very well and discourages people from trying to do better.
I love Ms. Aboody as a person, but for all the reasons why I love her, she's not the most competent teacher. Also, just DO YOUR HOMEWORK, trust me it helps a lot in the long run.
I was really frustrated with Ms. Aboody and her unorthodox teaching style. She wastes a lot of class time, her jokes cross the line and she doesn't explain concepts very well. Sometimes I'm not sure whether she understands the math herself. BUT I can tell she cares a LOT about her students and if you approach her outside of class she will do her best to help you out, give you practice problems, resources etc. You can do well in this class but you have to be proactive and learn on your own.
everyone is saying mean stuff, and though she is certifiably insane, she's really fun and she means well and she really cares and is invested in helping her students. if you are confused, just ask, because she can't read your mind and you can't expect her to.
I love Ms. Aboody! I found her to be an amazing teacher. As others have said, she is very kind and always open to being approached outside of class. In addition, she really cares about students and makes class entertaining.
Her classes are always fun, and though many don't like her teaching methods I found her a great teacher. She's also a really nice person who cares about her students.
Ms. Aboody is a bit eccentric, but is a fairly good teacher.
Ms. Aboody is an incredible math teacher. Even when I sometimes don't get it, and so don't participate, she checks up on me to make sure I understand the material, and when I don't, she explains. Whenever someone does badly on a test/quiz and feels bad about she goes out of her way to make them feel better and get them a tutor. She's incredibly nice and a great teacher.
Super nice person, and I feel that I'm learning a lot, except in her class some kids get it and some kids don't at any given time. Those who do participate, those who don't get it don't participate and will just be lost. Kids often feel intimidated that if they ask questions others will find them stupid, but don't be so intimidated! She's so nice, and she won't find you stupid and it won't harm your grade to ask questions - it will help you because you'll do better on tests.
I didn't have the best year in math in 8th grade. Her teaching style does not match me. Sometimes she doesn't teach, and the majority of the time, she puts up a problem and expects you to know it. Those who do, raise their hand. She assumes everyone knows it. She likes to put challenging problems on tests, but by practice, they aren't much harder than the hardest in class. She is the nicest lady ever, always understanding, and lets you retake tests a lot. She's a bit crazy but it's refreshing.
She is such a fun teacher who integrates dancing and life lessons with normal math. It makes the period pass by so much faster~
She's odd.... but she's such a nice person. Not the greatest teacher but SHOULD BE YOUR LIFE COACH <3
Ms. Aboody knows what she teaches very well, and she makes every attempt to help you if you need it, as well as to make up points on quizzes and tests. She does go fast, and can be hard to follow since she leaps between other topics (like belly dancing) and math quite abruptly. Overall though, you learn a lot, and she makes it fun. A great teacher.
She is the most awesome math teacher I have ever had. She's the only teacher that'll ever say "explosive diarrhea" in class. :P
She is AWESOME!!!! Don't listen to the people who say she can't teach. She can. If you don't get something, she's willing to help.
she was awesome in the beginning of the semester, and yea, she makes some jokes so class is fun and entertaining but we still learn a lot. i think it does get pretty boring when we're reviewing for midterms/tests but otherwise, she's really awesome and connects with her students well, too :)
Ms Aboody is really great! She's nice and helpful, and extremely funny. If you haven't gone to a prep, though, you're going to have to pay extra attention since she goes fast.
She really knows how to make math fun and always gets the class laughing. But she also explains math problems really well. She's really creative and smart and knows how to get the class excited.
The most fun teacher at the school, no doubt! But I wish she can spend a little more time explaining how she got the answers, instead of asking those who already know T_T
She's hilarious, and super-nice. She can get spacey at times, and some of her jokes could be considered offensive, but that doesn't stop it from being funny! She's a very fair grader, and is very serious when she has to be, and you can tell that she cares about all of her students. She' amazing! If you don't understand something, you can ask her and she'll explain it completely for you, so really, yu just have to ask the questions. She's ne of my favorite teachers! =P
She is wonderful, she sincerely cares and wishes us the best. LOVE HER TO DEATH! I love her belly dancing and she loves to incorporate students into her teaching.
amazing. you really have to pay attention in her class, though, or you could miss some stuff. Her jokes are a bit tounge-in-cheek, but you appreciate that she makes them. if you think her class is too hard, you aren't at the appropriate level.
Her jokes can be offensive, but are mostly vulgar, inappropriate and disgusting. She'll often show us a little more of her body than I'd like; shaking her bottom, slapping her leg and not to mention scratching her back.
The teaching style sucks, too. She gets sidetracked so only teaches for half the period, and she teaches quickly, speaks quietly and has awful handwriting. She begins whatever she teaches randomly. She makes assumptions about her students. She expects Einsteins in her class.
One word: Amazing. She came up with really great ways to memorize math related things, such as the quadratic formula and the logic laws.
She is NOT a good teacher at all. She sticks her hand inside her pants or skirt when she writes on the board, and scratches herself. She makes offensive jokes, and doesn't apologize later, because she just doesn't get that it's NOT FUNNY. Please, if you get her, don't take her stuff personally, but know that she doesn't teach a thing.
Amazing teacher. Taught us a lot while having a lot of fun. A few awkward movements during class, but overall, she tried to stay normal.
She's an awesome teacher who integrates fun into class.
I LOVE MS. ABOODY. She really does care about her students and helping them improve, even if it's not always in math.
shes amazingly funny and really cares about her students. however, she sometimes forgets that shes teaching math. also, dont be fooled by her easygoing manner, her tests are real/hard.
Very nice, very funny teacher. Often though she spends the first twenty or so minutes of class talking about her weekend or about her parents or something unrelated to math, resulting in us not finishing the lesson she was supposed to teach us. Then we do not so well on her tests because of her.
She did teach everything we need to know and some, she is very funny, and anyone who doesn't like her is a bad person
Makes tons of remarks that are supposed to be funny but are usually just plain weird. Teases half the class too. And she hardly teaches. But if you're a quick learner, you'll like her class. hopefully :P
She's a riot, but doesn't teach anything. Her class is only easy if you know the material, so if you don't, you might want to spend some time reviewing with someone else.
Though Ms. Aboody has a tendency to go off on tangents, she's sweet, wacky, and cares about her students. Sometimes she doesn't teach everything very clearly, but is always willing to help if you don't understand something. While her wackiness can sometimes be a bit disruptive, it helps to relieve some of the stress you invariably accumulate during a Hunter day.
The 'Boods is out of her MIND. If you're good at math, like I was, then she's not that hard a teacher. If you're bad at math, good luck learning anything and expect her to ontract out one of the many tutors she knows, rather than giving you help. That was probably the funniest class ever, though. If you're a good student, you can just sit back and laugh into your sleeve all year.
everything is good about her except she cant really teach.
she can't really teach.. once she just put the answers of something on the board, but didn't even explain it! and then the same week we had a test on it..
aboody sucks. too occupied trying to be funny and weird. doesn't teach very well, gets her own problems she puts up in class incorrectly sometimes. moves at a slower pace than the other math teachers. if she finds you different she constantly annoys you and goes out of her way to try and "help you". an ineffective and slow teacher. report card grades can be a bit random, even with a high test average.
i've never even had her. but i hae to admit she is my favorite teacher at hunter i feel more comfortable going to her with my math questions than my actual teacher cause she makes math funny and easier to understand
Linda Aboody is a very nice person that is always willing to entertain you in every way that is possible. Her humor, though, takes up more time than her lessons at times and causes many students not to do quite well. Today report cards were received and the only students that got better than a B were the students that had learned the topic prior to her lessons. I enjoy being in Linda Aboody's class but she is too easily sidetracked.
She is a fun teacher that will do anything to amuse and entertain the class. She is very friendly and kind, but her good humor occasionally prevents her from getting her point across.
A good math teacher with a zany sense of humor. This isn't neccessarily a bad thing, but it does send lessons on a tangent occasionally.
She is extremely helpful, as well as a very informative teacher. In addition, she is extremely hilarious and will make math class not only a learnin experience, but a very entertaining...time.
Lenient with late work, and very, very friendly. She personally called up my friend's mom when he had been failing to tell her he got a B instead of a D. Also really hilarious.
Albeit she does get sidetracked, hey, at least she TRIES to liven up class instead of some boring lecture...getting through our days shes a welcome light.
She's really fun, but she does get sidetracked, and it's fustrating when you get an A- after all of your effort, but it's really hard to say worse things about her. It's still hard not to like her.
She's really fun but sometimes she doesn't explain things as clearly enough.
she's a nice teacher, but doesnt really explain that much, i used to be a straight A student in math, until i got to her class, she's fun though
she makes fun of students a lot, and doesn't always teach. she goes out of her way to make her tests easy, though.
she is really funny and fun, sometimes a bit 2 much. i think she is sufficient enough in explaining and her actual teaching
She is a very nice person but not a very good teacher. She disrupts her own class with personal stories and never consistently teaches. 90% of the people in intro to calc were in her 11th grade class.
I had her years ago and to this day I still think about how she would just start crying in class. Can you say ... traumatizing? At the very least awkward ...
i love ms. aboody. she was a really awesome teacher and i really enjoyed her efforts to lighten the mood during class
well, overall she was ok, she is definitely very funny but she's not as clear or organized as, say, ms schaindlin, who is boring but very organized and clear.
I thought she was a good teacher and an interesting person too. However, you have to ignore a lot of the overly personal things she says and does.
she yells at the kids in the hallway, even if they aren't being loud, and doesn't teach for half the period because she is so preoccupied with the kids who are disturbing her class.
I was great at math with Ms. Kuberska, but BOTH times that I've had Mrs. Aboody, I've had to get a tutor.
Uhhh... I don't know if anybody else noticed, but she is very strange. She likes showing off her strangeness. I guess she's an ok teacher, she certainly brings more excitement to the classroom than most Math teachers.
She's an ok person, but as a teacher, there are some things she definitely needs to work on. Ex: she teaches too slowly, when she teaches at all.
Ms. Aboody is an awful teacher. She digs into people's personal lives and she is unclear when explaining things, seemingly because she barely understnads the material herself.
Great lady, amusing, quirky, and she somehow manages to sneak some math in there.
She's an awesome teacher, much better than the one I had last year. She's soooo cooooool. =)
ilove you ms aboody you say im ur role model but ur mine!
I love Ms. Aboody! I graduated four years ago and she always stayed after class to talk to us. She treated us like adults and we always had fun. -Fen
Ms. Aboody is funny, but she digs into everyone's lives and she assumes that you judge yourself. Sometimes she makes me feel brilliant, other times dumb.
shes so funny i dont even have her and she talks to me so much
She was awful. She makes certain students feel awful about themselves and singles many of them out as failures.
she is really fun..and the best thing is, she makes math exciting, so i am more inclined to pay attention in class and learn stuff--Ms Aboody you are an A+!!!
i love her!!! o so very much!!!! class is hard, but she spends time and always tries to help out and liven class as much as she can...wonderful math teacher
very very cool, anf funny but can sometimes make people feel bad and is a little unorganized and unclear but 4 the mostpart great, ive learned alot
shes pretty cool but sometimes she trys too hard to connect with the kids and her jokes arent that great
she's a really cool teacher and makes class fun cause math is sometimes really really boring
She's really nice and really cares and wants you to do well and tries to make class fun. Sometimes she takes it a little too far though.
she's nice and really cool, but if you don't get her humer you will have a very bad year.
Ms.Aboody is really cool cuz she jokes around and doesn't just stand there saying what x equals. I really like her cuz she makes class more fun and relaxed.
Completely tries too hard to "connect" with the kids. She should give up on that and actually work on her horrible teaching methods. I haven't learned a thing.
she's really cool. offered me a tissue and a chance to have a talk in the math department when I was down...lol. I think she's helpful, anyway.
She is not afraid to be really individual and interesting and is always trying to help us.
