I had her for Biology last year, and though I did learn a lot, the course was extremely difficult, especially the tests. Also, we had to do quite a bit of learning on our own, though Mrs. Sorenson definitely knows her stuff. We had tons of homework, but the information is definitely nailed into my brain now. There's many pros and cons, and though I learned a lot, I would prefer a different teacher for chemistry this year because that is probably even harder than bio!
Disregard the negative reviews. If you slack off or procrastinate in her class, you'll have those sentiments. I personally adore her. Establish a close relationship with her and work hard in her class, and she will go miles for you.
worst teacher i had at IHS...so incredibly hard. the whole class just cheated in order to survive the year. I work so hard in school; study for hours have tutors, go in for help...but I could NOT get anything better then a D on her tests. She is condescending, laughs at you when you dont know what to do and only pays attention to the few students who are naturally brilliant and can pick up on anything.
Extremely hard in grading. Doesn't even grade on completion but actually grades on work. Too strict. But is good in person and very funny
Like her as a person, hate her as a teacher. Be prepared for your hardest class if you get her for chem. And make sure to finish your labs early!
Grandma/Linda/ Mrs. Sorenson is a very knowlegable teacher but she has one of the weirdest senses of humor you can imagine. Unfortunately as she keeps getting older she seems to forget things more and more and sometimes if you ask questions she will completely ignore you. However, I've had her for 3 years straight so I know her pretty well and when I say she is a good teacher I mean it.
Mrs. Sorenson is awsome. At the beginning of the year her class was so hard but after a while you become used to it. I have learned a lot. We learn the material quickly and then move on so if you don't understand it then you need ask for help and she well make it clear. I can truely say it has been a pleasure to have Mrs. Sorenson as my science teacher this year.
she has a real sarcastic sense of humor and playfully jokes round with all the students...if u go in a ask for help you will benefit...check ur answers before you turn papers cause its an easy way to keep ur grade .....hard tests
Mrs. Sorenson is AWESOME. It's a simple as that. Her class is really hard, and she assigns a ton of work, all of which helps an insane amount in learning the material (I'm glad she assigned as much as she did...). She is extremely helpful and clear and is a great person over all. I'm so thankful to have had the priveledge of being in her class and getting to know her. I love Mrs. Sorenson! : )
I love Mrs. Sorenson and her class. Sometimes we take a few too many notes to truly grasp what she is lecturing, but overall it is a great class. This is my second year having her, this time for chemistry and she is still great!
One of the hardest classes I've ever taken in my life! Some people say she's super mean because the class is hard, but she's totally cool. You can say the dumbest stuff to her and she'll just laugh and joke around with you. I felt like she really listened to her students about their lives. She doesn't explain things very well though. Just basically makes you teach yourself science.
sorenson rocks! i went in the day before every test since i didnt understand anything we learned and i got A's on all of them!
I like her a lot, but I don't like how she'll give you hw and then half explain it, and you get graded down for not understanding it, but you get used to it.
Sorenson made chem and physics alot easier than I expected
Funny and nice teacher, class is a bit hard, but if you pay attention it's all very easy with her methods.
She is the best science teacher I've ever had. Accurate and fair grading. Really nice person overall.
Funny woman, nice person, GREAT TEACHER, and I hate science. It is a hard class but she's very willing to help.
great teacher... not exactly an easy class, however.
