People need to understand that the instruments are very expensive and are already in bad condition to begin with. Yes, she does yell but there are over a 100 kids in each class and many of them are on their phone talking to their friends and not following directions. She's very nice and understanding to those who listen and don't disobey her. Out of all my violin teachers she taught me the most.
i love her!!! she is understandably protective of her instruments, seeing as they're already in bad condition and we can't afford more, and students seem to think that the music department is pushover, so i give her kudos for just yelling once in a while to stop that. i hate when students bash on her, it's not right. she is always willing to give up her time to help, and she is insanely sweet and cares about her students. Granted, she can yell, but never without reason.
She might know her stuff but when it comes down to it, she's actually a horrible person. I've been her student since 7th grade and 5-6 years later, I'm still playing at the same level I was when I first walked in to her class.Over time, my love for the music has diminished, and it's because of her. Her "help" is just rude comments. She acts as if her class is the only thing that matters in the world, but if she wanted her students to feel that way, she shouldn't be irrational and yell constantly
Instruments cost a ton of money, so if you break it you have to expect getting yelled at. Also, the classroom has a LOT of kids, I think it's about 90. 90 kids shoved in a tiny room with instruments, that could give anyone a headache, so yeah expect her to be a little moody sometimes, but she has a good reason to be moody. She may appear mean when you're in the classroom with all of the other students, but when you are alone with her after class she is really nice. She rocks! ^.^
She is one of the greatest teachers in the school but she can also be incredibly mean if you break one of her instruments :)
Ms. Tomkiw is amazing ya she is protective of her instuments but take it form someone who knows that she is just looking out for you. ohh and make sure if you need to be tuned get it done in the 1st 1
I persononally don't like her. She goes a little too far sometimes. She acts like the instruments are living things.I'm afraid of her to ask for help.
shes nice to you if youre a good student.... and also she treats her instruments like children
really great person.. but in a class lik mine, she has to yell... and also she somtimes under/over-estimates people, but overall she is nice and helps u if u actually "try".
she always yells neva gives us breaks. looks like she meditating when tellin us to play. has favorites wors techer..almost

shes a good teacher but too many people try to push her around and she doesnt tolerate it good for her
Mrs. Tomkiw is ok. She can be very nice but sometimes she has to yell because the class got out of control. But i understand her for yelling at them!!!!!!!!!

Mrs.Tomkiw is really nice! VERY easy to get good grades from her. has a lil bit of anger inside her sometimes. I've learned a lot from her.
Great person/advisor/musician! doesn't push the class hard enough & as a result the orchestra doesnt sound as good as it could..but she's good & helpful
