I had Caston for 9th grade honors. I guess she's pretty nice and tries to be helpful but SHE DOES NOT TEACH YOU ANYTHING. Mrs. Caston actually screwed me over because she forced us to write our essays in a very formulaic manner and if you didn't follow the formula, she would give you a bad grade. She is a fairly easy teacher however, if you have her for english 9H good luck doing well in english 10H because she does not prepare you at all for it. I have leal for english now and im dying

She's a nice person but not the best teacher. Unless you are her favorite you will never get a 100% on anything. Typically gives B+ even if you did all the work. Tests can be hard because she picks really obscure quotes. Not much homework so that's a plus.

Her class are pretty boring and you usually have to write at least three pages for anything in order to get a full score, but otherwise the class is pretty easy. She doesn't give much homework, and you get a lot of time to write the essays. When you're reading LotF, make sure you memorize all the chapter titles, don't procrastinate on the dialectical journal, and know the obscure facts like 'who threw rocks at who but didn't actually try to hit him?'

She's really not as bad as everyone makes her out to be. She may not be the coolest/most exciting teacher, but she's always available if you have any questions and she's good at getting back to you over email. She does grade quantity over quality a lot though. And she's really big on exact formatting/organization of essays. Go in at lunch and ask her for help.

WORST TEACHER YOU COULD EVER GET!!!! Grades based on quantity and is very bias. If you get on her bad side, good luck! I learned about NOTHING in her class.

Her tests are really easy and she can answer questions pretty well, but her website is a mess. Also most people don't like her cause she picks favorites really badly, not in the way she treats you but in the way she grades your papers. She's a good teacher though. It's just really hard to get an A in this class if she doesn't like you. If you want to get an A on your essay make sure you ask for help on your essay on your free time. That'll get you a good grade on your essay. She likes that.

I really like Ms. Caston as a person, but her class is difficult. I'm currently in her AP English Composition class. She doesn't assign homework that often, but when she does you have to write A LOT
