Mrs. Kagel has turned out to be a nice teacher who's lenient on how your turn in assignments. She'll do her best to attend to a student if they ask her for help and has a friendly personality. The tests are very easy so long as you study and come to understand what it is that you are reading. Additionally, homework is pretty light all things considered with a heavy load on the occasion. An easy class if your attentive and keep up with the assignments (don't brush them off to do last minute!).
I'm a sophomore in Mrs. Kagel's English 2 Honors class. This is undoubtedly the worst teacher I have ever been taught by. It's legitimately concerning. She often derails upon her OWN lectures and never is able to fully explain precisely what topics us students are covering. Her expectations of her students are beyond our capabilities. The workload is heavy, notably when demand essays are assigned. Terrible teacher. If she is on your schedule, do yourself a favor and transfer out.
Arguably the nicest teacher at Trabuco. Mrs. Kagel was super understanding about everything, allowed us to print assignments (not saying that I recommend abusing that right), and turned a blind eye to tardies for period 2.
Her tests are all logical, and if you aren't scoring well it means you should actually annotate the books.
I was in Mrs. Kagel's English 2 Honors class. I thought it was relatively easy, as long as you take some time to study. She talks a lot and often trails off topic. She also rarely finishes her sentences, which makes it hard to grasp exactly what she wants you to do. She grades fair and test difficulty was reasonable. Homework was generally light and scattered though out the week with an occasional "heavy load" every now and then. Not an easy A, more like a medium A. Overall, an enjoyable class.
Kagel is a super nice teacher and an amazing person in general. All students were clearly warned in freshmen year that Sophomore English teachers don't comment on essays- your own fault if you were dumb enough to ignore said warnings. At some points during her lesson, Kagel might trail off a little bit but it's typically because what she was about to say wasn't important; it's not as if you were actually listening to her lesson, otherwise you would've rated her tests as easy.
Mumbles a lot, gives lots of homework, hard tests, lots of on demand essays. I started a list on October 11th of how many times she doesn't finish a sentence, it's January 8th, I have reached 550+ give or take a few missed ones
She seems to be horrible at the time but her class is actually very easy compared to Ms. Stewart's during Jr. year. Enjoy an easy english honors class while you have it!
She gives you bad grades on essays but doesn't tell you what you need to fix. She doesn't explain anything. Gives a lot of on demand essays and expects them to be perfect.
makes english a lot harder
boring...grades hard...frantic all the time...
i love Mrs. kagel for English. She does not grade essays too hard and she is the only honors english teacher I had to post grades online. I think she is fair but students just need to do work.
I agree she is nice, but she just kind of goes on and on and on and on
pretty nice, but could explain assignments better and review more for tests!!!!
Kagel was an awesome teacher. She was nice and funny. She gives you exactly what you need to do good on her tests. My favorite English course and books so far! She grades essays fairly! Moderate homew
my worst class sophmore year. a constant flow of busy work and pointless assignments that she never even reads. she grades the essays hard, i never got above a 3. another boring english class
Wow this is one tough class! Tests can be hard and her essay grading is tough. She is a nice lady but mumbles a lot. Half the time she sits at her desk while we try to understand the work.
Knows her stuff! Entertaining and you learn at the same time
One of my favorites! High energy, passionate about literature, she's so nice, and even though it was a lot of work, it paid off!!!
i loooove kagel. she is like my favorite. she's such a nice person, she talks to you about her son & his band but she cant really teach. she's still funny and mumbles a lot
She grades essays a little hard. Just be sure to do all of the vocab and study EVERYTHING for the finals. Overall, she's a very nice person and it helps a ton if you try to make friends with her.
she mumbles a lot and trails off, but she's funny and pretty laid back. i like her.
i love kagel bagellllllll!!! i never had her for english but for yearbook, she is awesome :)
she makes english boring, even boring FOR ENGLISH!!!
i barely have her this year. she's nice, but boring. doesn't seem enthusiastic about her job.
Not too bright. Hard class. My first B. Doesnt teach much. Lots of busy work. Homework: lots, but easy - dont spend much time. Tests: difficult, detailed, STAY TEXT SPECIFIC on essay tests. Good luck!
I thought Mrs. Kagel was great--though she rambled on a lot during lessons, she was a good teacher.
as much as i love english and er as a teacher, i cant help but sleep through poetry. shes cool though, for the most part
Class is an easy A if you do you do all your hw well (no bs work), and study. Grades Essays a little hard, I cant get higher than 5+. Mumbles too much, not a very good lecturer.
I don't get why people don't like her. She is a good lady and teaches well. I think most just understand english sucks to learn. Not her fault you stink at it.
ok teacher. kind of dull, mumbles & laughs @ her own jokes. lol. but pretty nice. easy homework, ok tests. lots of tangents. not too bad, a bit distracted&busy.
confusng..kind of scatterbrained..usually thinking about her yearbook class. otherwise good teacher. passionate about vocab and yearbook
