her class is messy and i think she's a hoarder... so it is likely she will lose your assignments. she's rude to students and doesn't have a clear agenda. she goes off in her own world and makes up the classwork as she teaches... horrible teacher.
Very disorganized; everything is pretty last minute, from making quizzes to posting grades. She goes on a tangent when it comes to class discussions. She made is do one-pager essays daily which helped with my writing but honestly I just pumped them out without much thought. I BSed most of the course and got a B and a 4 on the AP test so whatever. But I wouldn't recommend her, she teaches poorly.
Mrs. Floto makes a terrible excuse for an APEL teacher. She claims she prepares you for it while half the time I think she makes a big joke out of it. Nobody knows what they are doing. On the day of the final, someone was crying. She read out everybody's answers on a quiz that we took and made fun of each individual answer. A teacher is supposed to help the student; not to make fun of them. The class is not worth it. It will hurt your self-esteem and your grade.
Her American Lit class is basically APEL.
Horrible teacher, whose class consists of reading books/ articles, being quizzed on them randomly, and doing one pagers. That's literally the foundation of the class. She posts hw as late as 8, she never had a syllabus, and it took her 3 months to post one of my tests. Nothing fun in this class and u never know your absolute grade in the class as it fluctuates due to her tardiness of posting grades. If you're in am.lit and get her, I advice switching to corbell at the end of the semester.
She is a VERY understanding teacher if you explain your struggles or issues. Her teaching is not dumbed down or too difficult. She can be forgetful and might go off about her personal life or opinions. Make sure to elaborate your points on your essays and assignments. She can jump to conclusions about you not understanding the material or not even reading.
She's seems like a nice person, but not the greatest of teachers. She tends to post homework very late into the night, and the instructions are occasionally less than specific. Her quizes/tests are usually made on the spot, and are random as they are hard.
If you want a teacher who really encourages you to look deep into the text, Floto is close to alright. However, because of her work in Speech and Debate, she procrastinates on her work as a teacher and she rambles off about her life half of the time.
If you're stuck with her, just read the text carefully. Don't SparkNote it and if you talk to her about why you couldn't read due to sports, she might understand.
Her political commentaries are ok if you're neutral on the spectrum.
If you're unlucky enough to get her 1st semester for am.lit, I advice switching out by the end. If you're in apel, drop out ASAP (unless you're good in reading). Be prepared to deal with a teacher who posts hw really late at night, disorganized, someone who takes forever in updating grades, and who is religiously/ politically biased. One time, it took her 3 months to post one of my tests; and she didn't even have a syllabus on the first day of school. Hard quizzes with Q's she makes on the spot.
She is a very nice person and her class is always full of laughter or confusion. Personally i love her, she is never mean or hurtful. Her class is kinda difficult though, because its not very organized or clear... and her quizzes and tests are always so difficult. Especially for American Lit, we would read books and she would go over them, but her quizzes were WAY harder, as if she thought we could think that deep... In general if you get her just pray. love her though
Floto certainly has an opinion about most political affairs. Unless you're completely deaf, it's nearly impossible not to know how she feels regarding the latest Capitol Hill scandal. However, this in no way affects how she grades (seeing as how it's mostly completion work anyway), and as long as you present clear logical arguments, she grades based on her many years of English experience. Don't be afraid to voice your opinions. Floto prefers that over someone remaining in the silent majority.
Her belligerent, propagated spewing of misinformed "thought" are the bane of my existence. I will admit, she has VERY profound knowledge of what we read, but when she moves into modern topics, her knowledge drops to that of a narrow-minded individual. I'm one of the few who have dared to tell her she is wrong, and I never laughed so hard in my life. Her lectures are an exercise in tedium and annoyance. I've never harbored such pity for someone like her. The bittersweet countdown to leave burns.
so floto. it is difficult to describe her. she sticks with her opinion, argues with opposing ideas, and never gives in to say she was wrong. in a sense, shes always right, not on earth though, shes just right in her own floto-verse. its the floto states of america. that is my life every day.
She is a wonderful person who has a lot to teach. She is not the most organized and this is not that structured of a class, but the lessons you learn are amazing. She has a big heart.
This class is literally a joke. no one knows whats going on. she's crazy cant teach for crap. dont take her class. she is also super biast.
Great teacher! Although somewhat disorganized, she has definately prepared us well for the AP exam. The reading discussions are very intelligent, fun, and helpful.
She's CRAZY, but write according to her views, and you'll be fine!
She is very tough to get used to. She REALLY prepares you for the AP Test. You really learn how to write essays. She does favor those that speak up in class though. She cares more about teaching than any other teacher I've ever had.
Disorganized, scatterbrained, and a bit airheaded. But the class is EASY and she is easy to distract. We once got her to ramble about her trip to Japan for the whole period.
I really enjoywed floto's class. even if she did lose some assignments sometimes and her learningpoint posts were not always super clear, I learned alot in her class. She was one of my favorite teache
She's really nice, but forgets things too much. Ask her questions in class, because she won't post much online.
Scatter brained, but tries really hard to make you think critically.
She's not that popular, but she is a really good teacher who's really helped me pick apart arguments. And even though she's incredibly biased, she has opened my eyes to politics. Her class is one of t
Mrs. Floto is a pretty easy teacher; as long as you do the work assigned you should get at least a B. However, she is pretty disorganized. Good teacher anyway
i love mrs. floto! she is someone in this world who actually knows grammar and who is involved in politics
She's a horrible teacher and is completely disorganized about homework--it's always easy, but insanely complicated.. BUT she's really fun to talk to after school about politics and whatnot.
She's disorgaized, confusing, intimidating and always expects us to know everything, but something about her just makes me like her as a teacher. Maybe because she's not the average teacher :)
Ms. Floto works harder than most of you would care to know. Be careful with your words, she's taught you that they mean something.
just have an open mind, meet her halfway. i actually learned a lot, got a 4 on the test, probably higher if i had finished. and the fact that she's disorganized makes her more chill about late work
Nice teacher, terrible at teaching. Got a 2 on th AP test. I don't blame myself as much as I blame her.
Highly misunderstood by other students. Mrs. Floto is not too organized, but neither is life. The students who criticize her are uncomfortable with her analytical mind, open heart, and "scatterbrained
Everything i learned in her class was fought by every other teacher. Unorganized, unfair, and irrelevant material being taught. I love hard teachers, but she was just a putz.
She helps everyone, I can tell she really cares for our education
class is all discussion, def participate, can't sparknote. every lesson has a point, even if it's unstructured. just remember that, be flexible, and keep back-ups of work in case she loses something
values us, def helped me analyze on my own. unorganized but lax as a result. maybe expects u to know more than u do (grammar etc) but so do college profs. just needs better timing so ur ready in may
i think she is really nice. she is disorganized though and is unclear on assignments very often. she gets off topic a lot too, like she'll go on about her daughters and horses.
Mrs. Floto has the "BEST" way of teaching East of Eden! I loved having that class last year she is really cool
she may not teach really well, but she is very nice. just get to know her and you will see that she has a real sense of humor
SWITCH ASAP. i had her freshman and junior year, she once talked about her horses blood dripping for 15min. i was answering a ton of questions one day and she told me to stop..so confusing
Get to know her and she's great. Shut up in class and you'll be fine. Just behave and act smart, and don't let her give you her opinion without giving her yours. She's truly a nice person.
Nice, but if you striggle not your kind of teacher. Great for those who can pass a class and sleep at the same time.
mrs floto is all over the place. she loses work and we never finish anything we start. definately picks favorites and if you arent one watch out
Mrs Floto is one of the best teachers that I have ever had. She is extremely helpful and NOT closed minded. I suggest you all evaluate your views and openness
Easy, but I did absolutely nothing in her class (for my standards) and I got over a 110% by the end of the year.
I don't understand why everyone dislikes her. Easily my favorite so far at RBHS. She makes sure you say well instead of goos, and other stuff like that.
closeminded. rude. ignorant. disorganized. perhaps the worst teacher at our school.
Extremely rude and close-minded. VERY irresponsible. I definitely do not want her to be our S&D Coach next year, she will absolutely RUIN the team.
