First, she points out her favorite students too much. Goes incredibly quickly, and expects you to know everything. Her tests are extremely hard and she takes off unnecessary points. Again, she points out her favorites too much. Has no empathy...
Ms. Eag is THE Woman. Funniest and most intelligent woman in this school.
She is a very good teacher, although she can seem cold and even a little cruel at first. she is honestly a very sweet and kind teacher. She also teaches very well and explains things thoroughly. Grades harshly, but realistically.
Worst teacher at Syosset. Fortunately, she understands the importance of grades (more for her seniors than freshman) and if she is apathetic about or likes you she won't let you fail (i deserved a B and got an A) but if you are in the large group that she dislikes for no reason she will take off points w/o explanation and you will pray your final grade is within negative 2 standard deviations of your actual grade. Shes views her opinion as fact, based in no human reason, so just nod and agree.
Eager is literally the greatest teacher you'll ever have. She's brilliant and her lectures are amazing. Her classes are so interesting. You will struggle so much in her class but come out with so much knowledge. She is harsh at first but if you get to know her, you'll find out that she's actually really sweet and helpful and just well amazing. I don't know any other teacher that was as interesting as her. Best teacher. Best class.
Great teacher who makes you work very hard to do well in her class but teaches in a way that is so respectable to me that it has totally changed my outlook on school in general. Also, in our class, the way she assigns us documents to read really helps with the DBQs that are to be expected on the AP because they help build up skill in POV analysis over the course of the year that is so hard to master. In short, she is an amazing and one of my favorite teachers.
Do not write long essays or detailed answers. She hates those & does not have the patience to read. You never really know what she requires of you. I hated the way she marked, totally random. But you do get good grades if you somehow manage to be among her favorite students. She starts disliking you if you miss any class. All her grades are based on likes and dislikes.
Awful teacher. I lost all love for this subject just because of her. She is unfair and gives random grades. Her favorites do well. I have again started loving social studies in college, now that I have a better teacher.
Insanely tough subject and she wants us to live and breathe AP World. But she is such a bad teacher and SHS does not have any other AP World teachers. Gives very poor grades even if you are trying your best. She does a lot of favoritism. What she teaches in class from notes is useless.
She is a bad teacher. Unhelpful biased & cruel. She has her favorites & treats them well. I did well in my AP test by studying hard. She did not contribute anything towards my learning experience.
Horrible, horrible teacher. I have her for macro and us gov. She will completely skip over topics and assume you know how to do everything else. She gets off topic very easily. Blatantly plays favorites. I have a low C average in US gov because all she does is show videos and yell at people. Switch out if you have her.
AP World 1 is INSANELY difficult. Be prepared to pull all nighters four nights a week. She prepares you really well for the AP and is more than willing to answer any of the questions you may have. While her answers may be ambiguous because she doesn't want to always help you, she wants you to help yourself, she will help you whenever you ask. Her tests are insane. I got a 13/100 on the first test. Also, if you don't eat sleep and breathe Social Studies, DON'T TAKE AP WORLD 1 YEAR!
prepare for sleepless nights and grades youve never seen before if youre taking this class. plays favorites too.
wow what a tough teacher. Her class was most stressful of them all. of course, i may not be the smartest. the midterm and final was ok. she prepared us for the ap exam rather well but she has slacked off a bit since earlier years. she expects you to be readily dedicated. you will end up loving your textbook because it teaches you more than her. she teaches you to teach yourself. after the ap exam she gets really nice :D . never admit you were right and she was wrong, or ... yea. good luck!
She teaches out of a review book. I think that is all that needs to be said.
Quizzes every Monday before she teaches the chapter, 4 paged documents every single night, 30 paged chapter every weekend, high-speed nonstop lectures, tests that may cover 4 chapters, and your first failing grade ever. She's extremely strict in class, but outside she's very sweet. Ms. Eager goes straight to business, no chitchat. SHE WORKS YOU LIKE A DOG, but it all pays off on the AP exam (statement doesn't apply to GPA). SHE'S VERY DISORGANIZED; SHE LOST MY ESSAY, BLAMED ME, & GAVE ME A ZERO.
I'm seeing a fairly wide range of opinions about Ms. Eager so I'm going to clear this up. Ms. Eager is a teacher that expects excellence of her students and has very low tolerance for laziness and whining. She only teaches AP courses and the rigor she teaches with should be a standard for AP teachers. 75% of students in an AP course shouldn't be getting an A and if that's the case there's something wrong with the course or the teacher and generally it's not the course. Suit up or shut up.
Horrible. Irresponsible. Worst teacher I have ever had in my life. Does not like to help students and is LAZY. Do not take her class, it is not worth putting up with her.
She is ridiculously hard, but I learned more in that class in one quarter then I learned in any other class in an entire year. (She does tend to play favorites tho :( )
her classes are challenging; however, they are AP classes after all. students are so used to getting A's handed to them in all their classes she definitely prepares for you for other classes and most
crazyyass teacherrr...reallyy good though, she knows everythingg but she's cruella de vil's mother. so much freaking hw and her tests and essay are really hard so studyy!
She gives off an evil vibe, but she knows her material well and does an excellent job of preparing her students for the AP exam. She will work you like a dog if you take her 1-year class, so be warned
I get grades dont matter but whats the average in the class so i can know where i stand... if the average is D ill be happy with a C but if the Average is A (i know its not my example) id hate a B
I had Miss Eager two years ago for AP World and she was very hard, but pretty funny at times. She is one scary teacher, but after her class, you will be well-prepared for your future AP classes.
Ms. Eager is very tough but fair. She really tries to help you as best as she can. DONT TAKE CLASS IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AN A+. Grades don't matter, it's what you learned that counts.
You learn a lot about writing essays. She helped my grades in English. If you show your working hard, she won't give you bad grades. She hates long essays, because shes too lazy to read that much.
Ehh, shes ok. The class is very difficult so be prepared to not spend weekends chillin with friends but rather studying with your classmates
She may seem evil, but I have never been so prepared for a test in my life. Also, when you talk to her one on one, she's amazingly helpful and nice. I'm praying for her in senior year!
didn't know my name on the last day of school, but prepares well for the WHAP exam. life gets better after may. world hist was truly a rewarding class, though, i learned so much!
she may be hard but its all worth it! i learn so much form her. she truly is an aweome teacher, even though she is mean, but it works!
Her bark is worse than her bite, she acts really mean in class but she's actually a really nice person...
Ms. Eager will be the scariest teacher you ever meet & you will fail first quarter but she's one of the best teachers you will ever meet. If you do your work you're guaranteed AT LEAST a 4 on the AP.
very scary but when you respect her and do your work you learn that shes extremely extremely knowledgeable and very nice. EVERYONES afraid of her though even the teachers...dont let that affect you
An excellent teacher, very organized. Essays are evil, but DO NOT be afraid to approach her one on one. Barks more than she bites. The AP was a breeze and so were SATIIs.
An amazing teacher once you give her time... she's the only reason I got a 5 on the AP World exam.
she's the greatest, give her time, learn to love her sarcasm and just listen b/c shes brillaint
had her for AP macroeconomics. she's kind of evil but at the same time is really nice to you one-on-one and gives you good grades. class was pretty easy, not too exciting though.
I liked her attitude a lot. I guess yeah, she's strict and the class is hard, but keep up and she will help you learn a lot. She likes ppl w/ a "good attitude"
she picks favorites and hates the rest of the class. pretends to help but doesnt at all- my least favorite teacher EVER
she's very strict, gives out a LOT of work, but she's the one of the best teachers i ever had. Ms. Eager rocks!!
Had her every year of highschool so far, and I can safely say she is completely out of her mind. COMPLETELY. But she has a sense of humor (somewhere down there).
favors her afternoon class because they're more exciting, but when we say anything, she gets mad. needs anger management classes & some coffee in the morning.
If you can keep up with the work she can help you get a 5 on the AP World.
to AP WORLD kids - pay attention and do your work and YOU WILL PASS. got my grades about a month ago.
as a research teacher, she's terrible. don't take social science if she's teaching.
There are no words that I could possibly describe the hatred I feel towards her.
I was actually kind in rating her...she is completely biased and favors a few students while she screws everyone else over
Speaking as an "AP" student, she really does try hard for us, and I've heard she doesn't really care as much about the normal students. Strict, but tries hard.
favors her AP students and really dosent care about the normall peopel
I'm amazed she doesn't see her absolutely bias nature. Too much favoritism for her "precious" AP students
doesn't teach... doesn't like kids. and the feeling is mutual.
shes awesome... she was like a cool mom who wanted u to do ur best...really nice and helpful
ms. eager rocks....i'm still waiting for the barbeque
GOod teacher but is very tough and grades harshley..tends to favor some students over others.
Eager is awesome...who else gives dirty glares to the vistors disrupting her class??
Does okay, considering course is new w/ no example of a AP test to teach with
